Misleading title. I thought the article was going to be Philbin talking about what the Super Bowl taught him, not what some sports writer thinks it can teach him.

I think Dave George needs to consider another line of work. Tom Coughlin took an expansion team to 4 playoff appearances in their first 5 years. Philbin doesn't have that kind of cred. That's like comparing apples and sequoias.

Yeah, very misleading title. This has nothing to do with the dolphins.

I have to agree. I wonder what the writer was thinking?

It's not that bad of an article. Dave George makes some decent points overall, but his method of tying the New York Giants, Tom Coughlin, Joe Philbin and the Miami Dolphins together in some elaborate grand lesson learned scheme is sloppy at best.

Being on a Super Bowl winning team himself as the OC of one of the more prolific offense units in the league, I don't think Joe Philbin needs to look at Tom Coughlin's formula for victory for how to achieve the pinnacle of NFL greatness, but apply his own experiences in duplicating Green Bay's greatness and returning the Dolphins back to our long passed days of glory.

Just God PLEASE Joe...don't sacrifice defense for offense. Balance the two!!!

Well, as it relates to the Dolphins, I think lessons Philbin could learn would be:

    1) Find a long-term solution at QB - I'm not sure Peyton Manning fits that bill.
    2) Improve the pass-rush by getting another player(s) opposite Cameron Wake.
    3) Execute the two-minute drill efficiently. In my opinion one of the worst traits of the Tony Sparano Dolphins, even when Pennington was the QB.
    4) Get more athletic on the offensive line and in the secondary.
