Roughly it was a trade involving 15-20 mil off his cap, I didnt want to take all that on. Even though some of the players would have been nice to have.
for 2 DPOY candidates, a stud back to add to his stable, etc? There were other pieces in play but I was giving up an arm and a leg (about 6 players all of whom are legit starters)
That's a lot. CAP comes into play more so than others. But if you seriously were that interested in Andre, gimme a shout, doesnt hurt to look over things.
DHB had nearly 1K yards this season... I think Oakland got the better end of the deal but I don't believe it was necessarily a bad trade. For all the flack DHB has received, I think he's done fairly well thus far.
DHB was real solid last year. I made a strong play at him, but no way I could/would match that deal. Raiders got a lot in return.
I tell you watching the guy, it finally clicked this year, kinda like Cliff Branch (not to say he was that good, just a similar arc of suck, less suck, good). He had less issues with drops and started running much better routes, especially over the middle. I likely don't trade him if I have cap room.
The first was for Seymour. I wanted him because my DL is thin even with Castillo on the field, which he isn't much lately. The rest was for DHB, who is a younger, cheaper, yet less consistent version of Malcolm Floyd, who I later traded for a 4th. So on the DHB deal I basically traded a third and dropped 1.4 mil in salary.
FYI guys, I updated my trade block to include ballpark asking price for some guys. Some of these guys will be cut by the end of the day.
You dont have to explain anything to me or anyone else bro, its your team...build it as you like. Their are always going to be opinions but in the end all that matters is that YOU are confident in your team.
Mosie on over to the NBA discussion forum and talk about the Heat...atleast others will share your ambitions.
I can't stress this enough. Last year I tried to build the Bills to what I thought people would like, but it wasn't what I wanted to do really. This year, I've been staunch and adamant doing things completely my way and it's been much more fun even if it's more difficult.
I mean, in the end, it's all just a bunch of votes. That's no real empirical way to determine who did the best job, so do what you like. I get to take my favourite team and shape it the way I want and build it up and out of god awful cap hell.
all you can do is develop a plan for what you want your team to be, then go out and execute your plan. Thats what makes it fun, seeing what it ends up compared to wher you originally wanted to go. Hell I even think it is easier in this league to have crap team, you can just say f it I am gutting and starting from scratch. Having a team like GB, NO, Pats, Pitt, etc can be hard, dont want to give away what makes them great, dont want to do nothing, then it is no fun, so you have to identify what the weaknesses are and then prioritize. cant worry about who would have given what, it isnt about that entirely, it is what does your team look like at the end vs what you envisioned and does that translate to those voting. in the end its a blast. the sim was awesome
If that rule was in place... which is never will be because you can't moderate stupidity... we can just thank god Stitches is no longer a mod.
While you, elites, are able to veto our, lower class citizens, trades, we have the majority vote to veto your veto and replace you. Got it?
what the hell was thagt Houston trade? shaub and tate for who? man that is a gamble. not criticizing but that shocked me.
