Leggett is a good kid who's had some unfortunate circumstances. He's been to like 4 different high schools, not really his fault either. Leggett wants to do what gives him the fastest chance at making it to the NFL. He's on the 3 year plan. Can't really blame him since he has a family to feed.
No, he is actually a great kid. His coach knows he can play, and it's kind of unfortunate that his coach is also an idiot at times. But he pushes and pushes and pushes the kids. Sadly he does it more to improve how people see him as a coach than for the kids to improve in their life. Fact
Too bad online recruiting rankings mean nothing, and Muschamp is arguably the biggest corch in the SEC. Do you guys enjoy watching him make an *** of himself on the sidelines as much as we do? And he looks the the ******ed brother of Al Golden.
Here's Golden's intense press conference for those that missed it. Yeah ok you go ahead and keep listening to whomever keeps telling you that and that Tracy Howard will be a Gator. You said Golden is the 3rd best recruiter in the state. I say not so....
Considering the Hurricanes are an ACC program that's been mediocre for the past 8 years and facing possible sanctions compared to UF, an SEC school who was a National Champion 3 years ago, the fact that they're even close says a lot about how good a recruiter Al Golden is.
There isn't much difference between top 10 classes. Whether you have the #1 class or #10 class, you should be able to win.
My bad here. I am refering to Vernon Davis out of Coral Reef not Leggett. My chicks kid was quick to correct me....
Recruiting class rankings are irrelevant no matter how high they are ranked if the coach can't develop talent. Ask Shammin. Golden has proven he can develop talent. Muschamp, not so much.
He was All-Dade 1st team this year. Read somewhere that he was thrown at 4 times all year long. The Herald lists him as not giving up an entire catch all year.
The greatest past about this years recruiting cycle? Florida and Florida State... 2 signees combined from Dade and Broward county. Lock it up.
NOT that it matters, but not according to Rivals.... http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1326603 Basically they are all close enough that it does not matter. Some will see some as better and others will feel the opposite. All got great classes. Now it is time for the coaches to get the best out of them.
Developing players > Online recruiting rankings given by people who have never even played high school football
You're the one in here talking about FSU's class. Nobody cares about FSU's class. They have had the same top class since 2000 and have still been completely irrelevant in the landscape of college football. Same with Miami. Like I said, these class rankings don't matter, coaching does. Having an eye for talent, something that made Butch Davis famous, is far, far, far more important than just recruiting. Developing talent. Far more important. It's why Frank Beamer is so good, despite rarely even having his class in the top 25, and perhaps the biggest reason Randy Shannon was so bad. And then there's cases like Dabo Swinney and Jimbo Fisher, where they're just mind-numbingly bad gameday coaches.
The Gators are still in a battle for 5 star Stefon Diggs as well. I wouldn't be worried about signing the QB as much as talking him away from the money he will be offered when he is a 1st rd pick in Baseball.
Tracy Howard would have been a Gator had the Hurricanes not told him he would start from day 1. Gators had a young defense and still have 2 4 star corners coming in. It sucks to lose him but you can't help playing time. Al Golden is the 3rd best recruiter in the State and that's not a bad thing. Fisher and Muschamp are two of the best in the country.
You're reaching very high in the sky. Florida is getting high "star" caliber players because of the success they've had this decade. Mush can be the best recruiter ever but if he cannot coach, he will lose more and more each year. Signed: Randy Shannon
You could except Al Golden was a Head Coach before he became a Hurricane. He totally turned around a program that was booted out of the Big East. So yeah, he could fail but he has already proven himself to be, at the very least, a good football coach.
Just because someone was a good head coach one place doesn't mean they will in another. Besides There was nothing Florida could do last year. Meyer left the Gators with a lot of problems with the offense. Mainly no QB or WR. Good luck to the Canes this year guys. Not trying to piss anyone off in this thread.
You won't get any sympathy from us. Urban Meyer left Florida in 100000000000 times better condition than Randy Shannon left us.
I dont disagree. Meyer got the Gators two titles so I will always appreciate that. I do remember a lot of Canes fans loving Shannon when he recruited well and had a good first year too tho
Wasn't hard to fall into that trap when you consider who he replaced. Plus, Randy Shannon was a player and assistant coach here, so people were willing to give him a bunch of chances.
I do believe I said, he COULD fail but the odds are in Miami's favor at this point simply because Golden proved himself as a Head Coach before coming here. You're not pissing me off at all. We're just talking....
IMHO I am not sold on Golden, Muschamp, or (especially) Fisher as Head coaches at top schools. They are all really good recruiters and have put together great staffs. I don't expect the Gators or Hurricanes to have good year. They both were left in bad positions.
Well, Golden has proven he can develop talent, as well as proving he has an eye for talent. He was taking 2 star/low 3 star rated kids and turning them into NFL draft picks. A few of them high picks like Muhammed Wilkerson and Jaiquawn Jarrett. He's proven he can build a program. Let's not forget that Temple was the worst program in division 1 football. They were kicked out of the Big East of all conferences for being un-competitive. We'll find out about his ability as a gameday coach soon enough. But I'd say he has more going for him than Muschamp and Fisher. Muschamp has only coached one year. Fisher has proven to be a terrible gameday coach. And make no mistake about it, this isn't his second year either. He was running the team before Bowden was run out of town.
So Miami won @ Duke. Looks like we have a very good shot at a tourney birth. Assuming they don't screw it up and lose to crap teams.
I like this coach. We need Reggie Johnson to play huge like he did today. Also, like the Larkin kid's potential.
Yeah, Larranaga is legit. I can't wait to see him coach up his own guys. He's already doing great with players who aren't the most fundamentally sound (Scott, Grant, Reggie).
