OH and yes, I had a knockdown drag out with him last year, where he called me an *******.

BTW, I have corresponded with Scott Raab of all people, and he at least has a brain and you know where he is coming from (he just hates Lebron). I must say, Scott Raab is rather interesting, and has a good sense of humor.

This guy is just a scumbag.

I haven't had a chance to read Raab's book (Whore of Akron) yet - but a few friends have, and it sounds like it is less about LeBron and more about Raab's struggles through life. He uses LeBron (and sports) as sort of an antagonist for his own struggles and triumphs. Everyone I know that read it has come away impressed.

I understand what Lebron was to Cleveland but I just never understood the hate. When Santana Moss (A Miami Hurricane I love) played for the Jets I could never bring myself to hate him. Wade could have went to Chicago and played for his home town. Heck I guarantee that team would win multiple championships with Wade...but he didn't. Playing for your home team is great but at the end of the day if you are a true competitor you play the game to win.

Santana Moss isn't a good example considering he didn't pick the Jets himself, and Wade example would make more sense to fans IMO because he'd be going "home." Lebron was already "home."

A better example would be more like Joe Mauer leaving Minnesota for the Yankees in his prime.

And let's be honest, every Miami fan would've been pissed if Wade left in FA for Chicago. They might not feel the same sense of betrayal that many Cleveland fans did, but there would certainly be some hate (for some time). Also, Carlos Boozer's departure a handful of years prior didn't do Lebron any favors.

I don't think Wade would have went on national TV to announce his departure. That certainly contributed somewhat to many Clevelander's feelings too.

I agree, I was just using an off the top of my head example. I do like your example better.

It doesn't really change the point of my post. In my opinion if someone based that much of their own hopes and dreams upon Lebron James winning a championship in Cleveland I just think they need to reevaluate what is important in life. My two cents.

Isn't LeBron from Akron? Totally different cities bro. Who determined that LeBron owed the state of Ohio something upon turning 18?

That's why I used "home" in quotes. It was still Northeast Ohio, as Cleveland is all of 30 mins away from Akron. And I'm glad someone recognized Akron as a separate city, as many people on the internet act like it's a suburb of Cleveland. Robbins, Illinois is Wade's hometown I believe, not actually Chicago. :tongue2:

And I don't have any clue who determined LeBron owed Ohio anything, I certainly didn't. He gave the Cavs 7 great years, and a number of those years are as good as or better than any season the franchise had ever seen prior (though I wasn't a fan until like 2004).

Beside Pete and I, I dont know if any of you have lived in that area....but there's a reason he left as soon as he could. Its terrible in Akron...hell its no better in Cleveland. He was there his whole life, how can anyone hate him for wanting to move out of the ghetto? And Gilbert didnt make him relavant, he made the Cavs relevant. The only thing that burned me even as a Heat fan was the announcment. Although I think his intent was good.

You aren't really missing much on either side unless you like lots of passing and missed shots. Followed up by sloppy fast breaks and poor all around play. Or maybe its just good defense....I'm not really sure what that looks like in the NBA anymore.

Meh, Kevin Love is extremely overrated. The Wolves would be better served letting him test FA so a team like the Sixers could drastically overpay for him. :shifty:

LOL, its what I do. Id be more interested in pairing Deron-Melo-Howard. However thats possible thats the answer. Playmaker, clutch go to scorer, dominant big. Shumpert at the 2 as an athletic slasher and a stretch 4 who will allow Melo and D12 to operate inside the 3 point line. Thats how I would construct this team. Anderson would be a bonus. As long as NYK dont take the Hedo deal it works for me. Leave that cap space open for Deron as a FA.

Melo was thinking about sitting out tonight with his wrist and ankle still sprained. So he laid off shooting the ball as he said he would after last game. He was excellent defensively tonight and made the effort he often gets criticized for, contributed 11 rebs, 4 assists and purposely kept the ball moving as he said he would.

Supposedly had a long talk with amare and it showed because bibby got plenty of run with amare in the game and melo on the bench to purposely play pick and roll basketball knowing thats what makes the world go round for amare.

Let's be real, Howard to NY isn't happening, and if by the slim chance that it did, you can bet that Hedo would be going to NY in that deal, with Anderson staying.

Dont know about that. Consider that Orlando is the one initiating these trade talks and Chandler is the one actually living up to his billing. You would probably have a better Amare without Melo. Amare would also be doing more as the focal point of Orlando's offense. I think the entire purpose of the deal for the Knicks would be to create some cap space for a PG and get D12. Do not want Hedo, especially without D'Antoni here since he would actually fit D'antoni's offense as a stretch 4 but thats one of the worst contracts in the league. Id almost rather just let Amare and Chandler work things out if it meant taking back that slag. Even getting Dwight might not be worth that deal.

Well, we don't know that Orlando initiated anything. Like I said before, consider the source. He might of gotten the Miami Heat thing right but even a broken clock is right twice a day. This is from years of experience dealing with that blowhard. Remember, he was a 76ers beatwriter before ESPN. And I just don't see any way that even if it did happen you wouldn't be taking back Turkoglu's contract. Tyson Chandler is a bad contract as well... And Amare's contract is uninsured. Dwight for Amare and Chandler without the Knicks taking Turk would be highway robbery imo.

Hes been pretty accurate on all things Knicks in recent years and its known he has a good relationship with Walsh. He called the Melo trade with Denver long before it happened. He called Dolan sticking his nose in before he actually did too making it more impressive albeit it predictable. He was first one to report NYK interest in Iman Shumpert this year and Toney Douglas a few years ago. Hes been pretty on target regarding NYK moves lately. And we do know that it was Orlando who initiated these talks because it says so right in the link I posted.

As for taking Turk..I dont think id do it. I think Id rather stick it out with Amare and Chandler. 2 very good bigs > 1 great one and 1 slag contract in the form of Hedo.

Gotta ask yourself this: Why would the Knicks deal Amare, uninsured contract or not, for Dwight when hes battled Dwight as well as anyone could have hoped to last year wining 2 and losing 2 statlines with each side dominating 1 game? Amare is a dominant offensive player when hes playing with a PG who can get him the ball down low. I never realized how good he was inside the paint. He and Dirk have more moves then anyone else down low and Amare always among the league leaders in dunks, FG% and FT's attempted for his position. Dont get me wrong, I stil give Dwight an edge because hes a vastly superior defensive player but Orlando isnt playing from a position of strength here. Chandler is light years better then Hedo. Why are the Knicks taking back Hedo's contract if it doesnt allow them the freedom to fix their flaws? Just doesnt make sense. I think this trade would actually infuriate me. Hedo's contract is something from out of the Isiah Thomas era. Hes got what, 3 years and 40M left for a 33 year old 3 point shooting tweener who makes Amare Stoudemire look like an all world defender? No thanks.

I only got to see a bit of this game - but looks like Irving didn't have a great game. Too bad - was hoping he'd put on a show since this is as close to a nationally televised game as the Cavs have all year (seriously - I know they're bad, but you'd think the #1 pick would get them ONE game).

That my friend, is something everyone will agree on. Because as a Knick fan I know Ive scratched my head and asked myself "WTF was that" or "Why?" about many of their moves.

Any list that puts Paul Milsap ahead of Stoudemire and Josh Smith isnt even worth a debate. And it completely leaves off Kevin Love, Zach Randolph and Dirk for washed up KG and Boozer?

I consider Dirk a swing SF/PF and so does every single advanced stat site. Plus, he has been terrible this year.

As for Millsap...he is having a MUCH better year than Amare Stoudemire this year. and it is not even close. Zach Randolph is hurt so he doesn't qualify.

and yeah, Kevin Love is #1 on the list.
