You being the king of all reading and all. With all due respect, I'm surprised you can see anything past your ego.
I understand why you'd make this personal. Admitting you can't read is a tough thing to do. Were all here for you.
you make everything personal. You just don't have the balls to admit it. But by all means continue down your inane I'm better then you path. It's what you do after all. God forbid you should you know, actually throw out something of value on your posts.
I knew this was going to happen. Thats why,in my OP, I stated that some would be bothered ( older fans) ,and some could care less ( younger fans). Us older fans know what it was like to root for the Dolphins during their glory years when Shula and Co. were the class of the entire NFL. They practically owned the AFC east and other teams feared the Dolphins on a yearly basis. The undefeated season is the pinnacle of what they were all about and letting go of that is not going to be easy if/when it happens. Besides, the Dolphins over the last several years have been the opposite of what we remember them being from years past so hanging on to their tradition is rather easy. Hopefully we can get back to the "elite" status like we used to be. Having said all this do I think we are "better" or more "serious" fans than the younger generation? No,not really, but just have some respect for the fans that actually remember what it was like to be a fan of the best team in the NFL.
There is only 1 curse in this franchise.. Sun life stadium....everything changed the day Joe robbie did not have the vision to understand the consequences.
* The majority of your posts generally show respectable insight and valid points. However, these posts are immaturity at its best. I would expect such nonsense from a wise-*** teenager not someone in their mid-twenties, if your info is correct. It seems you`re just missing the point or refusing to acknowledge it. So,carry on if you must.
I still don't understand why your original comment sparked so much debate... it's been like watching a high school play.
Seems to me that most of the older crowd here said they would not mind it if the Packers went undefeated. But you know it's you who's so testy about not seeing a Super Bowl. Not any of the older crowd because we've seen it so save this bull**** twisting of this post because I've seen it too many times. Your words................ Sounds like your the testy one! But the thing is, is that what you typed is complete and utter BS. They do not pop the corks after the last undefeated team gets beat each and every season and most of them have embraced the fact that the Packers just might join them this season and they would WELCOME them...
Awwww the wimpy nerd society knows damn well he made that post. Crying to be recognized in the same light as some of the gurus on this site! Going as far as naming them ..... silly little man
If you dont see that calling them crazy old geezers is dissing the elder generation I dont know what to tell you.
It would not bother me a bit if going undefeated was also accomplished by the Packers! A lot of other teams sure and especially if its a team from the AFC East but not the Packers. Hell I'd pull hard if it was the Giants that were about to do it because they knocked the Patsies off the hill...
Some were taught to show respect for older people, not make fun of them. I wasn't alive in 1972 but as a lifelong Dolphins fan I'm proud of their accomplishment and don't see it as a curse, jinx, or anything like that. I'd rather not see it fall personally. I don't think it's embarrassing that these former players are proud of their accomplishment and I could really give a damn what fans of other teams think about it. I've hated seeing every Marino record fall as well. He's probably 50 or so by now. I guess he's just a pathetic old geezer in a broadcasting booth and it's good that his records are falling left and right.
Very nice! It won't kill me if certain teams accomplish going undefeated but I do hope it remains only the Miami Dolphins! Nothing wrong with that!
You think calling the most accomplished Dolphins team of all time a bunch of "pathetic old geezers" is just no big deal? You're out of touch. From a fan base who gets their pink panties twisted when honest criticism is leveled at the POS QBs who have been fielded by these Dolphin teams recently, I don't understand why you wouldn't realize that trashing the '72 team on a Dolphins message board is a ****ty thing to do.
You're right. Alan Page, not Carl Eller. But the rest of the story about using the cast as a club is accurate.
Not what you said back then! Opened a brand new thread about it and waited a year to rant your *** off about it.
See? Strong bias? You have got to be kidding me!! I've watched about 60 tons more than yourself, and I could care less if they or anyone else gets patted on the back for their work. More power to them and I hope they get rich doing it. Nor will I ever start a thread trying to MAKE my reputation better because in reality, it will get worse.
Overreact? Dude you just jumped right into the black kettle. I'm no saint, no angel, and I'm quite often wrong but when I want to make a point, I make it and usually its not about me.
This thread has officially jumped the shark.....everyone's points have been made, now it is just a crazy measuring contest and everyone is trying to get the last wave in. Can we just agree to disagree on the semantics?
You're exactly right! Watching a ton of football is much different than understanding it. I love to have fun! BUT this forum is full of people of all ages and you said something in a way you should not have.
No, you implied that our fanbase hangs its hat solely on it. What you did was blame that team, called them old geezers, and said they wait to pop a cork once the last undefeated team gets beaten every season. Which they don't do. The only time more than three of them rooted (in public) for an undefeated team to go down was when the Dolphins were actually playing that team. Or at least thats what I got out of it...
While at the same time you (the way i take how you wrote it) asked me if i was sure ive watched a ton of football, and ended it with saying watching is different than understanding it. You see how that looks?
Quite frankly I do know. Griese, Anderson, and Buoniconti get together once a year to celebrate still being alive and being good friends. A few times they have done it after the fact that a final team was finally defeated but it is hardly a celebration. How do I know? Because they were all on The Hank Goldberg show one day and said it... As far as what Kooch said about the current team, thats fine. Single him out saying why and your right. No one else on that team, other than maybe Jake Scot, are anything like him
There was no personal attack in the post you quoted me on that refers to this quote from me. What you said was you think you understand football, and I might not which is assinine.
As proud as I am about the Dolphins being the only undefeated team, I am just as sick of hearing about it. This is a "what have you done for me lately" league. And frankly the current answer to that question for our team is "not a f****ing thing!" This team has rested on those laurels long enough, time to just put a solid team on the field and go get a NEW SB trophy.
TBH, I'm not totally sure the rod in his forearm was titanium either. Was it readily available in '73? Serious question, I don't recall. I was thinking it was like surgical steel or maybe aluminum?
That comment literally made me LOL. You're concerned now because you aren't sure if Ozzy really understands football? Now I've heard everything.
