Feel better about what? The team I wanted to win...WON. I felt great!

If you disagree that 4th quarters were the key to Dallas being crowned then we must have been watching different games.

Yes, they do. The problem here is that padre habitually interprets flukes as common occurrences and then reshapes his view of a team or even a sport based on that fluke.

Well, no. The team you wanted to win got swept in the 1st round. Let's get at least that, right.

Too simplistic to just say that the Mavs won because of the "4th quarters". They won for a host of reasons. In 2 of the losses, the Heat scored more points per possession in the 4th quarter, shot a higher percentage, and still lost. That suggests other reasons. Mainly, rebounding.

    In order, they lost because:

    1. Rebounding.
    2. Pace (too slow)
    3. The Dallas Zone
    4. Dirk was unstoppable.
    5. The Mavs shot a abnormally high percentage from three.

and as for the Lebron not playing well in the 4th quarter arguments....irrelevant. Dwyane Wade was terrible versus Chicago in the ECF's and the Heat won the series 4-1.

You cant just dismiss Lebron's 4th quarter Finals performances as "irrelevant". There is a fundamental difference between his performance and Wade's and that is Miami needed Lebron to do more in order to win the series vs the Mavs. The Heat did not need Wade to do more then he did to beat the Bulls. The games with Chicago were close games for the most part but the minute Rose was shut down (by Lebron) the Bulls couldnt score. With the Mavs, it was different. The Mavs could score even when Dirk started slow or hit a wall. The Heat needed Lebron and Lebron didnt deliver. Maybe he gets redemption this year or next but just watching the series Lebron's failure to score more late in the game was a primary reason, along with rebounding, that the Heat lost. Just like the Heat might not have lost that series if they dont blow a 15 point lead in G2, the Heat also probably dont lose that series if Lebron scores more then 2.3PPG in the 4th quarter.

That’s not what he’s doing. He’s giving credit to the Mavericks, which is the opposite of what you’re doing to LeBron.

I am not "dismissing" it, I am just saying that it wasn't the main factor. The Heat played poorly in alot of areas in that series, Lebron's terrible 4th quarters in most of the games, while a major factor, could have easily been overcome. That was my point.

and yeah, it cheapens how well the Mavs played to merely just say that LBJ with minor improvement would have beaten them.

People underestimate how well the Mavs played in that series.

That was not the impression I got but Ive been wrong before. Also i did give Lebron credit for his play against Rose in the Bulls series. And I gave Lebron credit again by singling him out knowing full well he CAN do more then he did.

That was not the impression I got from your prior posts but if I misinterpreted I apologize. Even though youre a Heat fan I have big respect for your basketball opinion :)

    Hmmmmmmmm. That's interesting.

    So I looked it up.

And the Black Mamba, Assassin, Killer, destroyer of hope, champion, Captain Clutch did this in the 4th quarters vs. Dallas:

    4.0 PPG 6 - 16 FG 37.5% FG 4 - 4 FT

Lebron's problem was a lack of aggressiveness, when he only shot 6-17 in the entire series in the 4th quarter. He took 1 more shot than Kobe, and played two more games.

LeBrons problem is way different than Kobes, Kobe sucked in the clutch vs the Mavs...Lebron sucks in the 4th Qtr of big games 9 out of 10 times. He appears to be a scared little boy when games are on the line and it rubbed off on the rest of the Heat in that series.

Will he ever snap out of it?? I think at some point he will, but as of now calling him a chump when it matters the most is more of a fact than an insult.

What about the Celtics series? Or the Bulls series? Or the Pistons series, when he scored 25 straight points to guide the Cavs to the win?

Calling him a "choke" or a "chump" is stupid. More often than not, the team he plays on does not need a heroic 4th quarter because they're usually up by a fair amount of points. But when they do, he's proven that he can perform in the 4th quarter.

    Oh..wait..how coudl I forget.

    I forgot my own rule.

The Celtics and Bulls series...NEVER happened. We just imagined them.

We imagined Lebron hitting the clutch three in the corner vs. Boston in Game 4, and then dominating the overtime.

We imagined Lebron taking over the game and beating he Celtics down the stretch, BY HIMSELF.

We imagined Lebron shutting Derrick Rose down int he 4th quarter and then taking over the game himself in game 5 and hitting the typing shot, and the game winning shot in the last minute.

We imagined that all of that happened within a 2 week period last season.

    9 out of 10.

You know, it might be a conspiracy from Basketball reference and the Official scorers of the NBA, to have doctored Lebron James' Playoff stats, and then hired ILM, to do extensive CGI work on all the video of him out there.

But I think they went too far with this conspiracy, when they started doctoring the numbers to suggest that he is a top 5 playoff performer of all-time. That was just ridiculous.

Not so much Anonymous, and I'm a heat fan, Bron tails off the longer the playoffs run.

INOW, it's not the same Bron in the Finals as it was in Conference playoffs especially after say gm #3-4 or so, that's Kobe's edge on Bron imo.

When Kobe wants it, he is the same player in gm #7 of the finals as he is in gm #3 of the opening round. This is one of the reasons why what the Heat did in 2010 was rock solid, now the team knows that DW and Bosh and Co may have to pick up the rope and pull and not run everything through him, that could never have happened in Cleveland.

I think this is one of the unfair criticisms of Lebron, when BSPN puts on him "Jordan would have" or "Kobe would have" this Heat team is deeper and better then those teams imo, those other guys have to do more as well.

He had like 2 (outright) bad playoff games his entire time in Cleveland, who also hadn't even been out of the 1st rd of the playoffs for like a decade before he got there. Aside from that, he was busy playing 40+mins every single playoff game and not only carrying the offense each game but actually playing defense hard the whole time too.

The funny thing is that up to a year before 2010 free agency you were talking proudly about how LeBron would go to your Knicks and dominate the NBA.

We know what your real motivation here is, and it’s hilarious.
