    On defense(06):

    Holliday> Langford
    Traylor> Soliai
    Carter-Starks although maybe Carter by a slight nod
    Dansby>Seau
    Burnett-young Crowder
    Misi>Spragan
    Smith>Daniels
    Will Allen-Vontae Davis of 06
    Bell>Hill
    Jones-Jones

    That 05 and especially the 06 squad was very underrated especially when they got it together on defense. Give Saban credit, he built that out of journeyman and it was an exceptional defense to watch. Those guys had a lot of character and this team is finally showing something similar. Kevin Carter was one of my absolute favorites and Vonnie was Vonnie.

    On offense though this squad blows that one out of the water as far as talent. Only recently is this offense performing better than 05's Gus Bus team.

    Only team in the league with a losing record with a positive net points and the 7-5 Raiders have a negative net points

    This team would be right in the thick of the playoff hunt had they taken care of business against the Browns, Broncos, Giants, and Cowboys. They also had their chances against the Pats and Jets.

    Oh what might have been ...

    And if we didn't give up those two end of the game TDs we would have been +99

    It's a foregone conclusion with free agency, the likelihood of keeping all 53 players on your roster for next year is slim to say the least. As well as Miami's been playing for the last 5 weeks, if I were asked...I would really have to think pretty hard whether or not to keep Sparano and staff for next year. That 0-7 start was brutally painful, but Miami has been playing damn fine football over the last 5 weeks.

    If I were Ross and elected to keep Sparano for one more season, I would also ensure my 53 man roster remains intact as much as possible save some obviously needed upgrades during the offseason. It would make zero sense to retain him and not retain the same players that have been so dominant over the last 5 weeks.

    Then again...there's still 4 weeks of football left to go. Let's see what happens when we play Philly, a good team that's struggling....and round two of our match ups against our division rivals, especially against the Patriots on Christmas Eve at Foxboro. THAT game will be the game that ultimately tells me whether or not we retain Sparano and staff....win or lose...the game itself will tell me.
