On VT's TD run to win it, 3 canes Defenders could not beat man on man blocking, you are not going to win many games like that, add in Jacory may as well be a freshman, and this is shaping up to be a frustrating yr.
A freshman QB who has a 3:1 TD to INT ratio? The offense has scored 24+ points in every game and they are 2-3. That's all I need to know.
Probably Jacory's best game as a Cane but there are still times when he looks so lost out there. He had Streeter wide open and at least saw him. The defense needs upgrades all over the place. Hopefully some of the newer kids get coached up but so far I am not impressed with D'Onofrio's schemes and especially his adjustments.
http://miamiherald.typepad.com/umia...-is-as-simple-as-it-can-be.html#ixzz1aZkrdKbo Pretty good article on our defense.
Here is a link to watch the Tarheel game http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/86082/1/watch-miami-vs-north-carolina.html Good start for the Canes so far.
Damn, where have you been hiding your talent, Jacory? He made some beautiful throws in the 1st half, especially the 3rd and long conversion to Streeter.
Bad start indeed. Other than Giovani running well, that team didn't look the same as some of the other games. They tried to make it exciting at the end but too many mistakes. Grats on the win Cane fans, offense was clicking pretty well on a decent defense.
So guys is it exciting or super disappointing that this team could just as easily be 5-1 (6-0?) as 3-3? I mean look at our losses. Loss one @ Maryland: First game of the season can almost ALWAYS go either way. Add that to our suspension depleted team and it's easy to see how we lost. Especially on the road. This is the one I count as the 1 in the 5-1 scenario. Loss two vs Kansas State: They are a better team than I imagined they would be at this point. We literally lost by a single yard. Football is a game of inches and we saw it here. Could have so easily been a win. Loss three @ VT: Great comeback on the road. Our defense just couldn't hold it at the end in their home stadium. Bad clock management and play calling at the end when we still had a chance to win, but regardless the defense folded. Though is it folding when you've been bad all day? Anyway it's easy to see how we could be 5-1 at this point and probably in the top fifteen.
I can deal with the KState and VT losses, however the Maryland loss may be the loss that prevents us from winning the coastal.
A little bit of both really. I certainly wasn't expecting much from this season, so it's encouraging more so than exciting. On the other hand, when you look at out losses, they were all so close.
I'm guessing next week's game will be a 3:30 game. I really wanna beat those GT a$sholes again, even though our chances at winning the Coastal took a hit with VT beating Wake.
Scared to watch that game. You need to play assignment football to beat them, and our defense knows nothing about assignments...
Al Golden has suspended Micanor Regis for the GT game for punching Dwight Jones in the nuts. He also purposely stepped on Gio Bernard's hand on one play as well.
First, hookers and abortions. Now it's purposely stepping on players and nut tapping the opposition? All I've got to say is... WE'RE BACK!
If we win today I will feel amazing about the direction of this program. Especially considering the tough losses we suffered which could easily have been wins. I have faith in Golden but a win today would make that faith into something more.
Jacory sucking, Lamar Miller sucking, Offensive Line sucking, and now a blocked FG. SMH. What a waste of a terrific defensive performance thus far.
ESPN has listed him making a catch for 13 yards. edit: they credited Dorsett's catch as Ayles' catch as well lol
