-Waters looks good with the rest of the Patriots injured O-Line. Why didn't we attempt to get him again? Oh, they were content with our O-Line....(which seems to not be able to handle no huddle either)

-Still getting gashed across the middle, especially by TEs. Guess it wasn't Crowder's fault? Same old Dolphins early on.

-Crowd showed up, has been pretty loud especially for D, yet the team pretty much looks exactly the same as they did in 2009 and 2010 right now. Not a good way to get those fans to buy more tickets. Where are the passes to Marshall and Bess? Why not use Reggie on the outside instead of for nothing up the middle? Defense can't get turnovers. Hello 2010. Can we say goodbye to it at half?

-Offense had a great opening drive....then nothing at all, just like in 2010. Kind of expected that though. Defense played better in 2nd quarter.

-Stop running Reggie in the middle. It's obviously not working. It could work against the Browns...not the Patriots and Vince Wilfork. This doesn't seem like what they had in mind for Reggie from watching preseason and reports from practice. Why go back to basics in a real game? He's not Ricky Williams.

-Incognito sucks. (Can they give O'Hara or someone a chance? Can't be any worse) With Koppen getting hurt for Pats, they may go after O'Hara soon if it's bad.

-Brandon Fields is MVP....again. For now. Where is Odrick? Is he in? Haven't heard his name or seen him. Wake is a beast still though!

Anything to add? Let's hope most of this changes for the 2nd half. This actually isn't that bad though, 7 points down...score could be much worse with the way the offense(ive line) has played. Still...doesn't give much hope that the team has changed at all. BUT the Phins struggled in 2nd half last season, they still have a chance to change perceptions now by having a big half. Pats get the ball to start though, don't give up a TD.

Defensive Turnover would be nice...but Brady rarely lets that happen.

The amount of overreact in that post is astounding. Steelers should blow up their entire team as well.

Just a point to note, the 14-2 Patriots only scored 14 points.

    Goats of the half:

Dansby with at least 3 missed tackles.
Sapp/Bell can't cover a TE for their life (they aren't using LB's on em..they are using DB's and still can't stop them).
    Incognito the holding machine.

Henne looks like a much more confident QB. He's made some nice plays.

The defense, although they're getting gashed, still held them to only 14 points.

The offense looked great out of the gates, then nothing. Penalties have killed us. Chad looked good, but he missed two really nice opportunities for big plays to Gates & Marshall. Not to nit-pick, but if we're going to call those plays, we need to convert them more. The running game looked nice at times. I actually think we're best suited running in between the tackles. The few runs we've had out there we've gotten stopped. Our OLine is pretty slow, so I think getting out in front is pretty difficult for them.

They're not blitzing a whole. They're throwing a lot of coverage at Chad and he's done a pretty nice job of reading it.

Our defense is playing shockingly bad. Until the end of the 2nd half, we have put no pressure on Brady or the receivers. I'm floored by their lack of coverage. Absolutely floored. Sapp on Gronkowski? Really? OMFG.

Just think, as shockingly bad as you say the defense has been, a top 3 offense only has 14 points against us. At one point they were averaging like 13 yards per play against us. And still, only 14 points. So, we've bent, but haven't broken.

    We've got to score points.

Another penalty that hurt was the hold on the kickoff. We lost about 40 yards of field position there with the nice return by Gates.

Wondering why they're not trusting Burnett to stay out and cover the TEs.

I am also perplexed about all the Bush up the gut business. I like what I see from Henne, though. Would really help to get some more defense in the backfield and if we could start wrapping people up. I've always wondered why we seem to not understand how to wrap up a tackle. Coaching problem?

I don't think it's an overreaction when the Dolphins have something to prove and the Steelers don't...Fins mainly have to prove that they changed. I expect the Patriots to win and score TDs on ut, but I also expect the Dolphins to show improvement and that they really are more exciting like they have claimed all offseason. We just have to look different, which we don't.

I just want them to look different and better, don't care how early it is. Not the same as 2009 and 2010. Dumb mistakes, sluggish offense, no turnovers...not what we should expect even in week 1.

    Incognito held twice.

But one was when he was singled up against Albert Haynesworth. That's going to happen sometimes.

A big problem is that the Dolphin defense simply isn't winning up front. They're losing the 1-on-1 battles.

I agree Henne looks better than in previous seasons. That being stated, the Dolphins still only scored 7 points in the first half. The Dolphins so far have continued to show the same tendency as the last two years of committing penalties on offense and special teams.

The defense is lucky to have held the Patriots to 14 points in the first half. It wasn't until the last minute of the first half that they applied any pressure on Brady. Also the coverage by the defensive backs has
    been terrible.

To me the main weakness of Sparano so far as coach of the Dolphins has been his inability to make changes during halftime. This has always been Belichick's strong point. So I will wait to see how much Sparano has improved in this area, if at all.

...now THAT is different! 2010 Dolphins would've taken that and failed and kicked a FG. And defense never would've gotten the turnover to begin with. Nice start!

And yes, the crowd sounds good to me...am I the only one? They've been fairly loud on 3rd down. Though I do have my volume turned up high..

And Vontae is out?...hope he's okay, may need to ring Will Allen tomorrow.

Tony wanted more 1pm hot weather games...but Dolphin defense is gassed at 930 pm, imagine if this game was at 1pm? They would be passing out.

Henne looks great though. Marshall's gotta hold onto those tough catches in the endzone though like Calvin Johnson and Fitzgerald.

    They're all cramped and sluggish.

We have another explosive offense coming, in hotter weather on Sunday. Will the Defense be ready by then?

Also, FAIL by ESPN for missing a play!

We were hanging on to that game by a thread. I don't care if they only had 14 points at the time. The Patriots are clearly in a class far above the Dolphins, and they made it look easy against us.

This turned into the type of game that can destroy a team. Seriously. 7-9 again, IMHO.

I'm sure Gruden is thinking, 'I wonder who I could get as GM...', right now. Heck, he, Cowher, and Fisher might be making phone calls.

Loss at home in primetime again. Secondary gets gashed. No running game, and apparently the coaches have ZERO faith in our RBs since they won't run with half a yard to goal. Can't pass/catch the ball at the goal line, bad o-line play. Vontae Davis' bold comments about being the best CBs in the NFL is obviously a joke.

Offense and Henne did much better, but the team has got to show consistency. If I see the defense come out and dominate on Sunday but the offense do nothing I may scratch my eyes out.

You can make excuses that "It was Tom Brady and the Patriots" but playoff teams don't have to make those excuses. Another explosive offense comes to town on Sunday. We'll see what happens, hopefully the defense and running game show improvement. Bills are playing the Raiders, Jets play Jaguars. Don't want to fall to 0-2 at HOME, when it is very likely that all the other teams get to 2-0.

Henne looked great, defense really needs to step up though. And the running game...Ricky Williams had more yards for the Ravens than Bush and Hilliard combined. Actually Henne almost did also. A for Henne, and a big fat F for the Defense and Offensive Line and 4th and goal call.

Gruden said $hit on Live TV though...that was funny.
