Just curious how I did since this is my first draft. 12 teams/30 rounds, PPR + return yards. 0.5 per reception 0.5 per completion return yards (1 pt per 10) All TDs are 6 (INTs are -3) Starters QB: Matt Ryan <round 5> WR1: Dez Bryant <round 2>.............. (I foresee 80+ catches, 1400 total yards, 10 TDs.) WR2: Brandon Marshall <round 3>..... (My gut is telling me 100+ catches, 1250 yards, 10 TDs.) WR3: Jeremy Maclin <round 7> RB1: Arian Foster <round 1, #1> RB2: Ryan Mathews <round 6>.......... (Potential 1400 yard/10 TD season with Gates & Vincent back opening up the field.) TE: Antonio Gates <round 4> W/R/T: Danny Amendola <round 9>... (Likely 85 catches, 1500+ total yards, and 3 TDs.) W/R/T: Jacoby Jones <round 16>....... (Possible 60 catches, 1200 total yards, 5 TDs.) K: Garrett Hartley <Saints> DEF: Miami, Houston LB: Jerod Mayo LB: Chad Greenway LB: Derrick Johnson LB: Thomas Davis........ (should see significant action w/ no Dline and Carolina's offense seeing plenty 3 and outs.) DT: Ahtyba Rubin DE: John Abraham....... (week one vs Chicago) DE: Calais Campbell..... (possible break out year and is Zona's 3-4 and 4-3 DE, I believe) CB: Cortland Finnegan CB: Joe Haden S: T.J. Ward S: Eric Weddle Bench QB: Henne RB: Ben Tate.............. (he looks impressive in Houston's offense, so I felt comfortable going with the Foster-Tate combo.) RB: Mike Goodson....... (could have 45 catches, 1200+ total yards, 3 TDs) RB: Kendall Hunter...... (potential value if Gore is injured) WR: Micheal Spurlock.. (I'm guessing 1300+ total yards, 30 catches, and 4 TDs.) WR: A.J. Green TE: Rob Gronkowski With the new kick off rule, I'm guessing teams will try their hardest to keep the ball away from dangerous, elite return guys. So my thought was to go for returners like Amendola and Goodson who might be tempted with more frequent shorter kicks..... and Spurlock faces a few wimpier legged kickers in the first 5 weeks.
I like your QBs, top 3 WRs, TE and your backs (minus Matthews). I wanted to pick up Dez Bryant as I believe he'll be their #1 guy and I also believe Marshall will have a monster year. I've never done a IDP league so I can't comment on that part.
Thanks Raf. Here's the defensive break down. Tkl Solo: 1 Tkl Assist: 0.5 Tkl for Loss: 0.5 Sack: 2 Int: 3 PBU: 1 FF: 1 FR: 3 TD: 6 Safety: 2 Block Kick: 3 Turnover Return Yards: 10 yards per point
The reason I don't comment on the defensive side is that unless you're in an IDP league you're not going to keep track of how many fantasy points players produce relative to others. That's a different focus than just evaluating who is a good defensive player. Actually that's one of the things I enjoy about fantasy football. It makes you look at more players and see who is producing. It doesn't all translate to real football, but some of it does and I think it gives you a more complete perspective.
Why don't you like Mathews, Fin? I know Tolbert might see more TD opportunities, but there's no Sproles, and Todman probably won't see a lot of action this year unless it's needed..... so I don't see why he can't put up 1400+ total yards and at least another 7 TDs with Gates & Vincent Jackson keeping defenses honest. That's my take, but I could be missing something.
They were saying that it is going to be a true RB committe there, try and get Tolbert as well... I like Matthews ability, he just wont see feature time you know?
I'm not high on Matthews either. He flashes sometimes but less than Tolbert. It wouldn't surprise me if Mathews had big games, but also disappeared in some. I tend to value consistency in my fantasy players quite a bit.
