This is just as bad as some of the other comments you won't address or support. Ryan Clady is famous for having a no-sack rookie season, but no one seems to realize he gave up the most pressures in the league that year. Not only that, he played in an offense that it's pretty easy to see how not converting pressures into sacks works with the amount of bootlegs, play action off of zone stretch, etc. Ryan Clady wasn't as good as some of the top couple of guys coming out, he just got protected more. And he's fallen off a decent amount in a more standardized offense.
I've argued many times that the team should have taken Matt Ryan. Whether Jake Long is the best tackle in the league or the third best has literally zero impact on how I or others who didn't like the decision feel about it. Don't tell me what 'I know' when you're a Bills fan who clearly doesn't read many threads on this site. There have been plenty of debates on this board among Dolphins fans about Ryan vs. Long. The 'franchise QB' vs. elite left tackle debate does not change if one or two tackles happen to be a little better than the one you got. Please find me one thread where somebody said, "I didn't support Jake Long over Matt Ryan initially but since Jake is better than Joe Thomas and D'brickashaw ferguson it's cool." He's still an elite LT, the debate is unchanged. This is common sense. Your assumption that everybody on this board just blindly supports Bill Parcells' draft choice in 2008 or have to 'talk themselves into it' is insulting and laughable. Anybody can now see clearly that your real intent in this thread was to find a backdoor way to bash the Miami Dolphins. WTF did Matt Ryan have to do with this thread? Nothing.
