Have any of you heard what the undisclosed draft pick swap details are on the Bush trade? This seems to have been a well kept secret so far. Any ideas or rumors on your end? - Thanks
I believe that would be the Saints get the first 6th round pick between Phins and Saints. That would be if we do worse than the Saints then it cost us nothing. Am I right on that anyone?
I cant help thinking there is something else involved in the trade that we dont know about yet .Otherwise the deal would be more transparent and we wouldnt still be asking this question.
Thanks for the info. Crunchtime, I can't imagine that there is much more to the trade. If the Saints have an option to not be transparent they will always go with that option. I'm sure the "trade" was really just about getting Reggie on an AFC team and into a situation where he could get the number of snaps that he wants. I wouldn't have been surprised if we would have swapped our 6th for your 7th plus Amaya. We are all pulling for Reggie to do really well, he has been a great guy and a true class act.
He has impressed us so far on and off the field so we are pleased with the trade. We just worry if he can be a feature back and if he will hold up through the season given his injury history.
I will be rooting extra hard for the Saints to play poorly this season because of the implications of this trade. Moving up in the sixth round (if they finish with a worse record than us) is always a beautiful thing because it gives us a chance to draft the next Tom Brady.
I thought we gave them a 5th rounder in 2010. http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2009/10/13/1082480/mort-chiefs-compensation-in
Alright, maybe it wasnt the thigpen trade.....I think it was the lineman. I forget the names. But we traded one or both guys to KC....and we didnt know compensation until like draft time I believe.
With the Saints trade, didn't we give them S Jonathon Amaya and we've rumored to have swapped 6th rounders? That's the last I heard anyways.
We traded both for one 6th round pick, #173 overall, but that pick got traded around like 3-4 times before San Fran finally picked there, I'm not really sure what we ended up with but I'd guess after another trade or two we ended up at the spot where we picked Reshad Jones, #163 overall. #173 was held by 4 teams before it was used and #163 was held by 5 different teams. Ok, I had to look some more because I got curious. That pick 173 was traded to SD as part of our deal with them to trade down from #12 to #28 Pick 174 was interesting. It was a throw in pick we'd got from Washington as part of the trade for JT. A 2009 2nd and a 2010 6th. Well we used that pick, 174 to trade up and draft Reshad Jones. We gave back the Skins #174 and also pick 219, for 163. That kind of helps ease the sting from the 2009 2nd rounder we got for JT being wasted on Pat White.
