Hmm, his career arc is a bit like Ricky Williams, lots of carries when he was young, then missed more or less 3 seasons, 1,400 career attempts Ricky Williams: around 1,600 when he went on his magical, mystical ganja tour of the East Stay out the club LJ.
so i'm interested in how he does on saturday i would not mind to let him play the entire 2nd half, lets see if he still can do it against 2nd teamers for starters, this guy is basically another ricky williams with not so much mileage on his body for his age, i like the signing more and more
This will sound odd Al, but I think LJ might be a bit to lite for what they need from him, 'Mando said he was at 225, which is slightly lighter then DThomas, we need a power back for goal line and matchup situations, when the defense moves to nickel and dime stuff we sort of needed a larger back who can blitz pickup as well as punish smaller Db's.
i dont know padre , its just not only goalline for me, i wanna see that guy run everywhere on the field and at the moment i have this feeling that this guy could be success
Pushing and spitting isn’t beating. Patriots get kudos for these kind of signings. I know, they won the SB 10 years ago. This is a reply to the article. I chuckled when I read it and it's also true. Yeah, he seems to have anger issues, but spitting a drink into a ladies face or pushing her head isn't anything more than a way for a lady to get money from a guy with money. Yes, he's stupid for doing it and it's not right. lol...Anyhow, if this guy has one more average (for him) season in him he'll still be as good or better than some of the starting RB's in the league.
Johnson said. “You just grow older as years go on and do the best you can with the situation given to you.” Stuff just happens right Larry?
Really all he has to do is run for 300-500 yrds and 5 tds and ill be happy with him. I mean reggie and DThomas will be doing most of the work.
Perhaps, maybe not though, it is up to him to prove to the Staff that he will be or he will be g-o-n-e, which is a good thing, low mileage, chip on his shoulder and hungry, it can happen. Good to see you going with some intuition though Al, it is a part of what makes being a fan fun for me at least.
It'll be interesting to see how he does with this chance. It sounds like he's a guy who knows he has made his mistakes and isn't going to beg for forgiveness because he realizes he won't get it. I hope he can make the most out of it and I am excited to see how he plays in the next two weeks.
I think we could, just like we could see Thomas and Bush together. There is nothing wrong with having two running threats as split backs together. The Pats do it with Woodhead and Green-Ellis, and Daboll has a similar offense. You could also motion Bush from that formation and if a team is in their base, you now got Bush wide with a LB having to cover him.
Suprised me to i have a double header saturday i might be done in time, going to be close if i am. Now we are talking if LJ has anything left in the tank this might be a good combo and then add in the rookie Thomas. Uhhhh ok wtf?
Been awhile but i don't remember L Johnson as a one hole north and south runner what i do remember of him was more of a little touch of Barry Sanders style running. Any one know how he does like to run?
I thought he was more of a between the tackles pounder. I hope he has some gas back in his tank, we could use a vet to spell Bush and school Thomas.
X, you need to listen to the context of the interview, its up at miamidolphins.com...I think you will be pleased as to what he said, and how he feels about the chance that this coach has given him..
Bush in the backfield? Dude, I don't want too see any Johnson near any Bush in any backfield.(not that there's anything wrong with that......well) I prefer backfields without any Bush on them.
I watched the vid posted and he was running north and south mainly hitting the hole nice except the one where he is all but tackled behind the line and somehow gets away runs all the way back across the right finds two blockers and turns a negetive play into a huge one. I think that was the one that stuck in the small memory bank here. Dj the vid of him talking about a chance to make the roster does make you want to root for him. Very positive. Positive RBs on the roster? I like it. Where's the like button?
