When he got here, Bush told Dansby that Dansby was the only linebacker he's played against who could keep up with him. There was probably some smack talk by Bush after that gain.
Know you and Toddsphins has been a fan of relying on Lex to fill the viod at feature back. I'm pulling for him. This is the spot that has concerned me the most this offseason.
Barf.... Omar can sign my used toilet paper, thats about it. Since when would any kid be interested in a writer's autograph anyway? Whats wrong with that boy?
I like O more then most do, hope the kid does not stop asking for autographs after that one though...shessh.
Murtha and Ray Willis are both there with Murtha performing well so far. Whose to say he doesn't start? LT- Long LG- Carey C- Pouncey RG- Incognito RT- Murtha Is fine if Murtha has progressed.
If Garner's knee is serious we have a semi problem with Guard depth as then it falls on John Jerry or whomever they may bring into the mix, could be someone like Adam Goldberg.
Or they could do the right thing and sign Bryant McKinnie, getting his fat *** in shape, move Willis.
Fat guy who likes being fat and thrown off of the pro bowl team due to drinking constantly? Uhm, how about no? I'd prefer to roll the dice with Jared Gaither.
That would be fine. Gaither healthy is excellent. Pass protection on the right side would not be an issue. Are there seriously no tweets about how easily 4-5 yards are coming for the Dolphin's interior guys versus a tough defensive front. Carey's impact inside is being ignored.
Goldberg signed with the Rams yesterday. Good backup though in Goldberg. I read Mandos blog and several people were tweeting and one said he was back in huddle, another said he was down so I guess we will not know.
I do not think Tony will risk keeping Columbo as a starter this year if Murtha is better. The man simply cannot afford it. But, Columbo may not be bad as a backup OT.
As long as our guys run hard, that was another thing we sort of lacked in 2010, to much dancing not enough power the ball into the pile if they had to do so, and Carey solidified the G slot, but Richie I vs Carey at LG? Maybe they give Berger a shot at G? Well duh, what Qb wouldn't like such a option? Add in Sheets can do some things as well.
It might sound crazy but I think that Carey has some lateral movement to pull more so than Incognito. He might not be able to do it well but he's far from Leonard Davis and Shawn Andrews. He's also a good pass protector, probably better than Incognito. I've always viewed Incognito to be a good bet at right guard. As far as Long-Carey that's something we've wanted to see for years.
I'm in favor of giving Colombo some time to show what he can do for us, if he sucks then fine, move on, but if he comes around we would have a Vet Oline for the first time since the mid 00's, save for Pouncey.
I do not think Berger would make a good OG. Only reason he is still here is O"Hara wants more then a 1 year deal and is willing to wait it out to see what shakes up in the training camps and pre season. As of late, the Miami Dolphins are the only team that has showed any interest at all in the man.
Vet line? What vet line are you talking about? 2005's with McIntosh starting? If anything mention 2000 or at worst 2002. The best line we've had was 2009 when it was healthy. If you're talking about strictly veteran the last one we had was probably 2002.
so based on what the coaches saw today, lets see if there are new signings coming up the next few days, still would like to get gaither and let him heal up, if thats the case with him
With Nails and Co, in 09 we had DThomas at LG for just a bit then it became a revolving situation with Grove, then Smiley going down and DT being benched for ineffectiveness, it was a real mess.
I think he means outside Pouncey, all the rest have many NFL starts under their belt. There were many reasons we did what we did in 2009 and yes, the Oline was not a bad one but you can thank that year IMO, on Penny, The wildcat was still new and a mystery to the NFL and Brown did not have his foot sugery until after the 2009 season was over and Williams still did not lose a half step. In 2010, Hennne did not have a good year, the NFL figured out the WC with no problem, It was evident the foot injury was not going to be good for Ronnies futre career and Williams most certainly lost that half step. Once Henning lost the advantage of the mysterious Wildcat by Ds figuring it out, we were toast. Oh yeah, Add in our starting RT, RG, C and LT all had pretty bad injuries and illnesses and we had a LG playing the position for the first time and we even switched him to center a few times. No, if healthy, the 2010 Oline would have been pretty dam good.
That 02 line could run block. My god they could run block. Nails was a monster till he got hurt. Dixon was excellent at run blocking, Ruddy was Cruddy but ok, Perry was decent that year and Wade was very good. There's no comparison between the front of Incognito-Berger-McQuistan and Carey-Pouncey-Incognito.
Well, I suspect they will want to play the first preseason game with whom they have and then go from there unless Garner is down with a knee problem then we have to bring in someone I'd think. Gates sounded like he really popped out there today, and Clay getting some carries was surprising, thought he was going to be a move Te but they have larger plans for him.
