By the way...classy move by Avery on Orpik at the end of the game.

    What a tool.

He shouldn't have jumped on the puck to kill time.

Stop crying about Avery. They're up 3-0 and he hasn't been a factor at all in the series. Give it up.

He was pushed, he didn't fall...and look who's talking. You've been crying all week about Crosby. And some fan you are...forgetting that he scored a goal in game one. Guess goal scoring to Ranger fans isn't a factor.

Please. All you've been doing is crying, period.

Strangely, Jagirl looks quite comfy in spandex.

So much for the "Garden Mystique".

All that needs to be said.

Keep whining, Blueshirt Boy. Enjoy the long vacation after the Pens finish dispatching your team. But hey, no need to worry! It's been 14 years since your last cup...only 40 more to go!

Look I want Pitt to win and I don't like Avery but he needs to get props for lacerating his spleen in the first period and playing the whole game

Avery is now done for the playoffs

The only reason you are winning this series is because of Price.

If Price is average you guys are done

If I'm poking my head in when they win, I may as well show up when they lose, too.

Sharks 2, Stars 1 So buzzards to that.

Have to admit, the way the Sharks had been playing, when the Stars got that turnover and Lehtinen capitalized making it 1-0, I thought we were going to sweep. Credit San Jose for not folding. Every game has been pretty close - we were even down in the third 2-1 in the 5-2 victory - and tightly contested. The 3-0 lead the Stars had, while not a mirage, wasn't indicative of how close the series has been. Last night, the bounces went the other way. Turcs was good again, but Nabby was better. Two straight real solid games by Nabokov. I'd take one more shaky one.

Next game's in San Jose, and it's huge. The Stars have been good on the road in San Jose, but if the Sharks take it, the series is 3-2, and then there's a lot of pressure for Dallas to win in Dallas. So let's just put an end to it here on Friday. It'll be the fourth game in six days, so hopefully the Stars will be the team with the most in the tank. Go Stars!

What a game by Henrik Lundqvist! This was very important to shut them out here. We showed that they can be shutdown, and they had every opportunity in this game to score. Great job by Lundqvist.

It's not over yet the way I see it.

Look at the sore loser Pittsburgh Penguins. They finally lose and they can't take it. Way to get in their heads, boys.

I knew you'd come running in here!

Hey, should I wet my pants and cry like you about all those hometown penalties called against us?

Sore loser Penguins??? What about you bunch of panty-wetters at the end of the first three games? Do we even have mention ol' Spleenbuster's actions in game two and three? Please. Man, you are the PROTOTYPE Ranger fan.

Don't know what game you watched, but your defense did squat. Lundqvist once again saved your team's *** like he's been doing all year long. Unfortunately, he can't do that forever. Which will be shown to you all too well in game 5.

Ooooh...you won one game at home. The series has shifted! :sidelol:

    You're team is done Sunday.

First of all, there were no bad calls and you know that, hence the smiley.

Yes, sore losers. What happened when Dan Girardi laid out Marian Hossa towards the end of the game. Crosby and Malkin tried to start fights. What happened when Jagr got cheap shotted when he scored his goal? Nothing. They didn't start dropping gloves challenging anyone. Although, Avery probably would have.

When did I say the defense did great? I didn't. Lundqvist bailed them out all night, that's why he is the best goalie in the NHL. I hope Lundqvist found his groove because he is capable of just going on a hot streak where he isn't going to let anything past him.

I said it's not over yet. When did I say the series has now shifted? I didn't, good try.

I can't wait until Sunday. If they pull that game out and Lundqvist dominates again, then I will say the series has shifted.

IT'S NOT OVER! LET'S GO RANGERS!

    You said

"We showed that they can be shutdown"

A goalie saving your *** isn't shutting down the other team. They had plenty of opportunities but didn't score. Shutting down an opposing team is stifling defense that results in few scoring chances.

    That didn't happen tonight.

And by the way, Crosby and Malkin going after Girardi was just backing up their man. And Staal's hit on Jagr was NOT a cheap shot...please.

I highly reccomend to the Penguins that they do finish of the Rangers in Game 5. Another win by New York on Sunday and I could see this getting away from Pittsburgh.

Sayin' this hurts me as a Flyers HATER but damn, bury the Habs.

So much for chiseling Price's face on the same mountain with Roy and Dryden, chisels down folks. Young goaltenders will do that....look brilliant but they can flame out for a bit and flaming out in the playoffs sends you home.

One more Philly.....one more. End the Dive for 25.

You need to take off your blue and red colored glasses bro. You can't compare a clean hit on someone driving towards the net to waving a stick in a goalie's face, chopping at his knees with the stick, or pushing the stick under the stomach of someone who's on the ground.

    YOU give me a break.

The announcers mentioned several times how it was a good hockey play. Nothing cheap at all. Are you serious??

And having the back of a player is a bad thing for Sid and Malkin to do?? PLEASE!!

    go wings!!!

Im concerned with playing either Dallas or San Jose. Theyre both good, deep teams, with hot goaltenders. Turco is playing great right now, and Dallas has some great players on their roster too.

If the wings can keep playing well defensively and not have to rely on their goaltender to bail them out (i think osgood has be great though) and if they can keep getting scoring from Datsyuk, and Zetterberg, along with secondary scoring as well... I like our chances as much as anyone elses!

WOW! All of you Pittsburgh fans. I didn't see this last night because I must have been switched over to the Yankees game for a second.

What the hell is up with Evgeni Malkin purposely kicking Paul Mara with his skate with the intent to injure? He should be suspended for that bull****.

The Penguins have no punks on their team though. He was probably backing up his man, right?

What a piece of **** Malkin is, huh?

No, wrong. Malkin was out of line completely for that. Unlike you who'll make every excuse under the sun for Avery's douchebaggery, I'll admit when my player is wrong.

I never said we don't have any punks. We have Ruutu. ;)

And if you think one of the NHL's supserstars will get suspended during the playoffs...wake up bro. They're not getting the viewers they want as it is, they're not going to dilute the talent pool and hurt it even more.

And no suspension is deserved. Mara wasn't hurt, didn't bleed, and got right up and started fighting back, which is what he should have done.

Dallas is going for a real choke job here.

The two disallowed goals hurt - especially the one non-kick they called a "distinctive kicking motion", because it was anything but that - but there's no way you can let a 2-0 goal lead like that disappear in the last 13 minutes.

The Sharks have all the mo' as this thing heads for Dallas. Really, it seems like a one-game series right now, because if the Sharks bring this back from 3-0 to 3-3 going back to San Jose, the writing's pretty much on the wall. Dallas needs to sack up here at home. Otter needs to start being the player he was during the season and in the Ducks series. Morrow's been an absolute stud, as has Lehtinen, but some of the other guys need to pick up their level of play. Turco's been real good so far, but the third period and the brief minute or two of OT were not a couple of his more shining moments. Beaten over the glove hand twice.

I'd probably like to moan about the disallowed goal a little more, but the bigger thing here is the choking it away up 2-0 in the third. That just cannot happen. And it did.

Also, I don't know why, but the Stars seem to do better and come back fighting harder when they go down 1-0 than when they go up. I always like to see that first goal, and last night when we got the second - well, I thought we had it earlier... we did, but Toronto disallowed it... - I thought that was the one we needed to break the Sharks' hearts. Didn't happen.

    Credit San Jose.

Oh well. I love how Chris Drury gets bashed in the face with a stick and gets cut open and nothing gets called.

I didn't get to see the whole game but I knew it was 2-0 Pittsburgh going into the 3rd period. I guess the Rangers made a nice comeback but lost in overtime.

The Pens were the better team. You can't let them pick up speed thru the neutral zone like the Rangers did today. I know, easier said then done, but you'll see that on the first and last goal, the defensemen were back on their heels, with everybody going backwards instead of forward. When that happens, a broken play almost always goes for the attacking team, and gets picked up by the trailing forward. Ultimately, it's not really luck, or bounces, it's speed, and skill at the blueline that creates those chances.

I picked the Flyers to beat the Caps and Habs, but they're in trouble against the Pens. On the backside, Braydon Cobourne, Jason Smith and Derian Hatcher don't have the foot speed to compete with quick guys like Sid Crosby, Pascal Dupuis, and Tyler Kennedy. Then you have guys like Gary Roberts, Ryan Malone, Jordan Staal and Jarko Ruutu that can work the corners. And I've yet to mention snipers like Evgeni Malkin (another senseless penalty for him today though) or Peter Sykora. It's really a tough team to match against in the defensive zone. Of the remaining 5, I'd say the Sharks, and Wings are the only two that can do some things with their defensive zone coverage to create problems because of the smart, mobile, puck moving defensemen they have in their top 6.

I think they can neutralize the Penguins with their puck possession game. You can't build speed through the zone on them because you never have the puck against the Wings.

IMO the Flyers are dead. Like you said, the Flyers defense is too plodding to keep up with the Pens forwards Unless Biron continues to do his Pelle Linbergh impersonation I think the Pens will roll.

The Wings HAVE to be worried about their goaltending at some point don't they?
