But what if that stop-gap veteran wins just enough games to prevent you from getting said rookie?

SFF definitely works for me. That's why I'm not in favor of a time and repetition draining QB competition :wink2:.

I always said that Crowder had a big motor he just didn't have good awareness. Since this regime took over they tried to get Crowder to play within the system instead of improvising out there. They needed more structure and Crowder couldn't play that way due to his limitations. Apparently they finally got it and replaced him. My guess is Nolan had a big role in this with his recommendations. There were no big plays from the guy in six seasons. That is a long time or a career for some LB's. Channing was mediocre. I already knew it was just a matter of time before he would be gone. I'm so happy he is out of here. Some here loved him and disagreed with me constantly. I guess in the end I was right.

YW. I don't disagree with any of that..... but it is possible for an influential person to help others react in a less irrational and detrimental manner.

No matter how badly some fans want Henne replaced, until he is replaced, they could show a little more tact in their criticism considering the effort he exhausted to improve us this off season. If Chad sat on his butt for months playing Halo after a crappy 2010 season and then showed up to camp out of shape and unable to pass a physical like Ryan Matthews, then by all means---- he'd have it coming b/c fans deserve more. I would only hope that loyal fans can understand the distinction between the two.

We all want to win, but that doesn't mean we can't practice a little restrained criticism toward a guy who wants to win as badly as we do and is making every effort to see it to fruition. If he's fighting for the same cause, I'd like to keep it that way for as long as he's the starter, b/c having him feel like his efforts aren't appreciated isn't the best way to ensure an enjoyable season IMO.

That is absolutely not true and Sparano made a point to emphasize it. The first 2 games were about Henne practicing solid game management and not turning the ball over. Tony said Henne did exactly what was asked of him and was proud of his performance.

That's not true. Bradford was a bottom tier performer with a 7-9 record in a weak division if I recall.

    Henne redzone: 26/46...... 56%.... 10 TDs.. 2 INTs.. 15 1st downs.. 89 QBR... 22% TD per attempt... 33% 1st downs per attempt.
    Bradford redzone: 42/87.. 48%.... 12 TDs.. 4 INTs.. 20 1st downs.. 75 QBR... 14% TD per attempt... 23% 1st downs per attempt.

Chad did this verse the 3rd toughest schedule while Bradford performed worse against the 32nd.

Now, if Miami ranked 20th in yards per drive, 11th in punts per drive, & 18th in drive success rate while the Rams ranked 28th, 25th, and 29th respectively (and Miami fumbled twice as often as StLouis) why is it that Bradford supposedly "deserved" to be trusted but Henne did not (when the alternative was a terrible ground game)?

Overall, the Rams had a better OL too, and had Jackson putting up one of his better seasons.
No matter how Bradford did last season, the Rams are kind of stuck with trusting him for 3 seasons, what with the guaranteed money they gave him.

Fans are entitled to make their own distinctions based on their own expectations. I'm not sure what this "exhausting effort" entailed, but it means nothing unless he performed on the field.

Nobody should restrain anything. This is a forum for fan discussion, not a Chad Henne support group, just like the bleachers are. If someone feels a certain way, they should express it with pride. Chad Henne shouldn't feel appreciated, because he hasn't accomplished anything yet.

if you don't know what this "exhausting effort" entails, then I really don't have anything else to say other than you must hate Henne to the point it's made you unequivocally obtuse. And the last I checked, we've yet to play a snap in 2011.

More with the obtuse attitude I see. So organizing the off season work outs with a high degree of participation during a lockout along with acting as the coach, offensive coordinator, and QB doesn't count as accomplishing anything?

If we're successful this year, a portion of that will be due to Henne & Long's off season efforts. Without their efforts, we'd be starting the year in a more disadvantageous state.

You appreciate people who work hard, period. If you can't accept that, then your principles are for crap.

Sure, it counts for organizing practices. Unfortunately Chad Henne is an NFL QB, not an event planner. There is nothing exhausting about telling guys where to line up at practice.

    What did Long do?

Sure, I appreciate hard work. I don't think anyone suggested Henne didn't work hard. That should be expected of anyone on an NFL roster. But the Miami Dolphins are a football team, not a work-ethic team. Hard work is required to succeed in the NFL, but its not the only thing. There are millions of people in this world that work harder than Chad Henne, that doesn't mean they are good NFL QBs.

And how many QBs worked as hard or harder this offseason to help their team succeed? Maybe one--- Drew Brees, a past SB champ with an incredible work ethic.

You may not, but I consider any player's dedicated work ethic and ability to effectively organize a team (when it's not required of them) to be an accomplishment. Just b/c 100% is expected of a professional doesn't mean they'll give it to you. If they go above and beyond the call of duty (I'd consider what Henne did this offseason to be just that), I feel the effort should be appreciated b/c he can always decide to give 85% if he feels his efforts aren't being validated. After all, they're people just like the rest of us, and like the rest of us, I'm sure they like their hard work and dedication to be equally as appreciated & validated. I don't think it's necessary to break up hard work into degrees. Hard work is hard work; a million other people "possibly" working harder shouldn't negate a 120% effort that someone else puts in.

Long was the other ring leader of offseason participation.

perfect example of inaccurate analysis relative to this particular staff's time here..

You cant let the past ineptness affect how you define the current staff...

What have they done thats so fuc%in bad..one 11 and 5 season and a title, one 8 and 8 season, and one 7 and 9 season..after taking the team over from the very bottom of this league and the #1 pick, all the while transforming them into one of the youngest in the league now, all the while trying to break in their first young QB..

Hows that make you feel that your team doesn't play, or find energy from their fans.?..

they deserve the 4th year?, and whoever doesn't think so, then I don't believe they really understand the GM side of this business.

Maybe one? Nobody here has any idea what these guys did with 90% of their offseason time. You have no idea what Chad Henne did, other than a few organized practices.

When organizing some offseason practices constitutes an accomplishment, you know your QB position is ****ed.

When you need someone to help you organize some offseason practices, you know your QB position is ****ed.

So now we need to know, are we cheering the booers or booing them? Are we booing the cheerers and cheering the jeerers?

perhaps envisioning a turd falling out with a squishy red nose on it......
maybe turds were pulling the ole "look at all the clowns coming out of 1 VW Bug" trick.....
or maybe it was Killer's constipated poop and he was making a funny clown face while struggling to squeeze it out. :chuckle:

Anyone wanna see Killer taking a poo (with his junk covered up) raise your hand.
