I'm not halfway through the story yet, but i've played enough of the story to be able to rate it IMO. Hell, Mor does it with every game that he buy.....err downloads! Note From Mor: I get my games early through an un-named contact. You can't prove anything. There are games that I've played where I wasn't halfway through that I could rate easily without being through to a certian point. My rating wouldb't be based on the storyline alone. My ratings would be based on gameplay, visual looking, multiplayer aspect where applicable, and storyline. Here's a quick list of the games that I knew how good they were before getting halfway through. The Darkness Call of Duty 4 Halo 3 (meh) Rainbow Six Vegas 1 Lost Planet Assasins Creed BioShock
The Mens room! Dude, i just started this game, and ts the very beginning so i go and watch the tv....did any of you guys see "The Mens Room" show starring Bas Rutten?! Dude this is hilarious!!! I love Bas Rutten, he's a retired pro-fighter who is just a funny awesome guy. you have to watch this , its really good.
Cant believe the reviews this game is getting so far. If the reviews are right it looks like it's living up to the hype. Avg score of 99? Unheard of. I want a PS3 even more now http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/grandtheftauto4
City feels huge, not sure if I'll ever feel like I know exactly where I'm going. I love the way the cars handle though. Game seems extremely deep. When I bought it the other day at Best Buy the girl at the counter says "You realize this is game is rated Mature right?" I laughed and said yeah I think I can handle it.
Yeah the city does seem huge, I've only gone the island north of the starting area. I feel so so on how the cars handle, but I'm starting to get used to them.
They asked me for ID at Gamestop yesterday because of the 'M' rating. (Keep in mind im about 6'2 200 lbs) I asked the kid how old he thought I was. He said 30. I laughed and handed him my ID. LOVE the game so far though. 3 hours of gametime just flew by. Its def just as addictive as the others.
I'm loving the multiplayer action so far. There may be things I'd improve on, but its some of the best fun I've had with friends yet. SO many ridculously funny moments to be had in this game.
The last 2 nights I've had at least 4 friends online all playing GTA4. Seriously, we need to hook up a Phins party and rule Liberty City.
This game has so much going on in it's crazy. I've played about six hours already and have barely broke into it. It's so easy to get distracted, like last night when I decided I should pick up roman and take a trip north to the strip club. And you can't miss with MIchelle, she always let's you come up to her apartment.
LOL I already hit it twice in after the 2nd date, but I called her a 4th time to schedule a date. She told me to meet her in an hour, and so I tried to do a quick mission in that hour. She text messaged me later saying I missed the date, and when I called her she sent me directly to voicemail. Women .......
I had one date with Michelle, we went bowling. Then I drunk dialed her at 3 am and she said she was sleeping to call back tomorrow...
Yeah I dialed her at around that time. It's easy to lose track of things. She likes bowling, darts, and pool. She didn't like the cabaret club all that much but she still put out afterwards.
So your copy of Grand Theft Auto was a victim of Grand Theft Auto??? Lame I know. Sorry, couldn't resist. Hear anything from the cops yet Stitch?
A few comments about the game This is my first exposure to the GTA series. I am glad I decided to try it out. Granted, the graphics do not have the "wow" factor that Gears of War or Uncharted: Drakes Fortune provide, but they are still beautiful. Liberty city looks gorgeous, especially looking from a distance. I love the comic book-like concept drawing. One of my favorite aspects of the graphics is the weather. I drove through foggy conditions, and the fog looks so realistic. Looking at the car lights through the fog made me think "wow". The rain looks great too. I love how the road really feels slippery when it rains. The controls are great. The car driving gameplay reminds me so much of Burnout Paradise. Controls are intuitive and easy to learn with the tips that the game provides. Another one of my favorite aspects of the game is its attention to detail. The depth of this game is fantastic. For example, if I run past people on the sidewalk they will say something. If I slam into someone with my car, either Nicol or his passenger will make a comment. There are so many side jobs and minigames that you will be playing this game for a while. The cell phone adds quite a bit to the game. Finally, the dialogue is hilarious. Nicol is a very likable person. All-in-all, an awesome game.
I was reading through some of the threads on the Sony boards. I was surprised how many people hated the game and took it back. There are a couple of threads there like "Craziest thing you've seen" or "Coolest details" reading through some of that stuff is crazy. They put so much stuff into this game. Can't wait to get home from work!
PS3 boards are among the worst boards I have ever seen. I have never seen so many childish posts on one board in my life; hell even the smilies look childish. I think the 12 year old count on that board is higher than many other boards. Even the official XBox boards have more intelligent posts than the Playstation boards.
Nothing from the cops yet. I was talking with a classmate, and he said he had his truck stolen recently (within the past year). Apparently it was found in Cleveland a week later and was stripped. He's like, don't bet on getting anything back.
There are a lot of people who love hating things that everyone else seems to be loving. They feel it makes them cool and non-conformist. Also sometimes one little thing about a game annoys someone and instead of taking the time to get used to it, they decide it's much easier to hate the game. I was actually guilty of this when Madden had that stupid precision passing, but I tried for two weeks to like it before I gave up.
precision passing ruled! It actually made quarterbacking much more realistic. Looking off the saftey worked really well by precision passing I am assuming you meant the passing cone. precision passing has been a part of football games since NFL Gameday
Yes. The passing cone. I know a lot of people loved it, but I couldn't stand it. It was just too much action to do in the course of time it took for one play, especially if your opponent called a blitz. Every game ended up being the Colts vs. Packers cuz they had the only pass cone friendly QBs. I hated it and am glad it's gone, or at least not part of the default settings anymore.
