Non-Heat fans are just as obnoxious as Heat fans.

Yeah when the OP starts the thread with "so nobody misses the news"

considering its the biggest and only sports story going right now.......its a troll job. And if this was a jet fan randomly showing up to rub it in after being M.I.A for months on this board, the OP would be one of the first ones to report the post, and crap on the thread.

    Just sayin...

Heat fans are more evil than Jets fans, apparently.

No, Wade has never been accused of breaking the law. I'm not one to judge someone on a moral level, because I'm not one to say what is right or wrong. But when you break the law, you clearly have stepped over a moral boundary.

The Dallas Mavericks were the best team in the NBA, and they earned a championship. But that doesn't change the fact that the team is full of criminals and thugs.

Before this year I would've said more obnoxious , but not anymore.
Chick Barclay is MUCH more obnoxious than 97% of the population

I'm not saying one's bigger than the other, just saying at some point there has to be a line. Somewhere.............I don't know where, but........

As an aside, in reality most people with the amount of money needed to buy a pro sports team likely have done a few things that aren't reputable to get it. Just saying. Obviously some are good guys, but the reality is many of them have done a couple of shady deals.

Hell, if Martha ****ing Stewart is insider trading....................its not outlandish to see Cuban do it either. Not that I'm saying it allowable.

Yet the most hated player in the NBA is LeBron James for his arrogance and immaturity. Funny how that works out...

The Mavs being classless doesn't make me feel any better. I am satisfied with the way the season unfolded, so I don't really need to feel better about anything.

If I wanted to marginalize the Mavericks, I would try to denigrate their title. I'm not though. They deserve to be champions.

I garaundamntee you I'm as big a Phins fan as anybody in here and have been here as long as anybody
But since I create a thread about a team winning a championship, I'm a troll?
Somebody want to tell when this turned into a Miami Heat forum?

Celebrate, sure. Put citizens in danger, no.

There is no double standard. Heat players aren't criminals. If LeBron were to be arrested, I could only imagine the reaction.

LeBron got pulled over for going 101 mph one time. Is that putting people in danger?

Stevenson is a punk. He is a punk on the court, he is a punk in interviews, and, apparently, a punk in his personal life, too. I don't think anyone is going to argue that.

But I didn't really see much from anyone else on Dallas to make them lack class? Dirk and Kidd were very complimentary of the Heat - Jet mostly talked himself up and Marion called LeBron a ***** on the court - which I'm sure is hardly uncommon.

Yes, the 14 year old girl DeShawn Stevenson gave alcohol and had sex with was in no danger at all.

Obviously whomever called the police on Stevenson last night did not feel safe. Hence their desire to call the authorities. Do people just get arrested for being drunk now?

Which in turn marginalizes their accomplishments because you relate it to them representing the NBA.

No. It doesnt change the fact that they were the best in the league this year. I don't think I've implied anything otherwise.

obviously they do. If he were a danger to someone don't you think the charge would be something other than public intoxication? This argument is really getting ridiculous. Now a person can't get drunk? It's not like he threw someone out of a bar through a plate glass window.

I'd say driving 101 is MUCH more dangerous to the public than getting **** faced

You are moving the goal posts here. First it was about putting people's lives in danger, now it is about getting arrested.

And this entire argument is ridiculous.

Other than Stevenson - was anyone else really lacking in class?

Besides, the entire argument about off-the-court issues seems silly to me. People care about how athletes carry themselves in the setting of their sport. People are mad at LeBron because they don't like what he did or how he has been acting in context to the NBA. Of course people think less of rapists and wife beaters - but when talking about sports, they are going to react to how that athlete behaves within context of THAT SPORT.

I never said anybody should react in any way. I never said Mavs fans were terrible people for supporting them. I never said I think less of the players on the Mavs. All I said was that the character of some in the organization is nothing the NBA cares to advertise.

Well, the police felt differently. Hence their statement of "(The officers) felt he was a danger to himself and others"

You don't get arrested merely for being intoxicated. Or else everyone would get arrested. You get arrested for DIP when you're disorderly or are causing some sort of problem.

No, that would be drunken disorderly conduct.
He was arrested for public intoxication.
    Big difference.
    Huge difference.
As I stayed, I think the guy is far from a model citizen , but let's keep your argument accurate at least.

I don't know...but I do know what he was charged with, and it WASNT drunken disorderly...at least, not yet.
