Soros Gives Up On Roma Takeover

Rumours have been rife that the current owners, the Sensi family, are on the verge of selling their stake in the giallorossi due to the financial trouble afflicting their parent company, Italpetroli.

Italpetroli is in a world of pain at the moment, possessing debts of up to €370m, meaning that the offloading of Roma would lessen their financial woes considerably.

The stage seemed to be set for a dramatic takeover by Soros this week, particularly in light of Rosella Sensi's apparent note of farewell, issued today on behalf of her father.

But Il Messaggero is just one source reporting that Soros has backed away from the negotiating table, while RomaNews.eu contends that the American will not be coaxed back for another bid barring an extraordinary behind-the-scenes development.

Miraculous Ronaldo To Return In September

The career of the Brazilian was believed to be in huge doubt after he severed a tendon in his knee playing against Livorno in February.

After a successful operation in Paris, it was estimated that he would be out of action for at least nine months, even if a more likely return date was said to be in 2009.

However Ronaldo’s rehabilitation has been going brilliantly well and he is so far ahead of schedule that he could return to playing in September, and even be ready for the start of the new season.

"His recovery is progressing well and we believe that the months of stop can be reduced to seven," Milan doctor Pierre Meersseman told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Chiellini On Calciopoli: I Received No Pressure From Moggi

Chiellini is one of many key witnesses in a trial of six men, including Moggi, accused of conspiring to control transfers by intimidating players into signing for the GEA sports management firm.

"I never suffered pressure to be represented by Gea,” testified Chiellini.

“The fact that my agent is Davide Lippi [son of Marcello] proves that I made the right choice."

I think we need to win all the remaining games and Fiorentina to screw it one more time, and we're in!, Although I couldn't watch the game because ESPN decided to show the Inter game instead of Milan, I read Milan won 4-1 against Livorno, and it was a great game by Pippo. I hope he will continue like this for the game next week.

The thing that bothers me about next week's game is Inter could celebrate their 100th year with a W against us, clinch the scudetto, and keep us away from CL qualification.

We must win against Inter PERIOD!.:tantrum:

Well its even at the aggregate and no one can advance on away goals as they both have equal amounts. I think they will have to or we could see extra time maybe even penalties.

Aye, but Chelesa really pushing for anothe goal right now. Another Liverpool goal and it could be over, but they haven't been pushing forward since the goal.

Whoever scores, it is over. Since they are equal on away goals, it doesn't matter who scores. Yeah they seem to be just settling back waiting for extra time it seems lol.

Yes it was, 3 goals in extra time, only thing I could have asked for more is that Liverpool won lol. Great game though, so think Chelesa have the advantage with last weekends win going into Moscow final?
