I'm not huge on MW games. They'll have a place in my library as I like warfare shooters, but they're discussing charging a fee for an add on MW subscription service that allows access to stuff not offered in just the disc.

They're well within their rights, but I hope this blows up in their faces..big time. I hate when stand alone games try to nickle and dime us (see Madden and their upgrade features). It's a ****ty practice on their part, and i'm hoping for a huge backlash....

Who cares... if people want it, they will buy it. If they don't want to buy it, then they won't. I personally don't intend on "upgrading" to the Call of Duty Plus or whatever they wanna call it, but more power to others if they wish to spend the $5 a month to do so. Why complain about something you have no intentions of purchasing?

Not complaining, I just think it's a really bad move on their part.....particularly in the case of this franchise. They pushed the original developers out, and it's facing mounting criticism for being a grinding out cash cow. This could lead to cementing that status in a lot of peoples heads. I don't see this sitting well with the MW faithful.

Like I said, they can do it, and more power to them. I just think they're getting very close to raping the franchise to death..and I hate to see that happen to a good franchise. Too much of anything isn't good.

If it were a fee to actually play their online multiplayer, then I would say it's a bad move. However it's just a way to "upgrade" so to speak so I don't see it that way. Just IMO.

Yea, NCAA 12 (well EA) is doing something similar I believe with their website and game interaction. I'll likely pay the couple bucks extra for the extra features in that game, but not COD. It helps I'm only paying $48 too though.

I loved bungie.net when I was competitively playing halo 2 and 3, so I could definitely see the appeal of a site dedicated similarly for CoD.

I guess you can register to be apart of the BETA testing later this summer. I don't know how they select their testers, but you can at least register.

Couldn't be any less enthused by this game. Disliked MW2 online play, and COD4 is now overrun with hackers. At least Bungie maintains their games at a high level.

Hmmm....I certainly don't like the idea of getting nickel and dimed, but if the content was worthwhile I'd consider paying. Will this apply to all CoD games?

    Appears that it will.

But since it’s totally optional, who cares.

I actually think it's a good thing if it applies to all CoD games, not a bad thing. I don't want to sign up for a monthly fee if the service is only good for one game.

You know damn well the free online version will be dumbed down big time.

Well, the free version of Elite will be dumbed down, sure. But CoD multiplayer apparently won’t be affected.
