Lets see how the team responds, on the road, against a tough opponent that goes to the championship game, and our bitter rival..These are the games we need to judge as to how good we really are..hyped game, all players ready..I love to judge a team at the beginning of the game..

Its raining at the new meadowlands..

SS24 opens the game behind the LOS...Comes off his receiver on the edge and makes the aggressive stick.

3rd down..Sanchez drops and throws to his right, doesn't get anything on the pass ,SS24 sees it, undercuts the receiver, puts his hands out, and drops it..Pick 6 if he catches..

Let me tell you this, Henne has not thrown to many of those...

Defense as usual, dominates the beginning of the game, Misi settin the edge while getting facemasked, Smith showing nice technique, MCD tippin passes, and Carroll cuts in front of a floater by Sanchez and holds on, a real INT.

If Henne makes those last two throws by sanchez, he's on the bench.

Statistic comes up that Sanchez has thrown an Int. in 8 strait games, 12 on the season...

JT wreakin some havoc, some wildcat drives, some throwaways, Henne runs to get us into field goal position.

Sanchez's 3rd throw, drops, gets heat, gets hit, doesn't protect the ball, gets knocked loose, we recover..

For fun, the last three throws were,

    A pick 6..

    An Int..

    A fumble for a turnover..

Henne has done nothing to the magnitude of that in successive plays..

Marlon moore is the 3rd receiver, Henne has the ball at their 30.

Crowd is at their apex, big game here, their only 1 game behind the pats and were 500..

    1st down..Henne to bess for 6..

    2nd..wildcat for 1..

3rd down..perfect deep slant to Marshall for 15...nice.

    1st and goal..

    wildcat for 4..

throw away from no'one being open

Quick curl Henne to Marshall for 6..

Solai makes the tackle in the flat, in the open field, on LT..For a TFL.

Sanchez is fluttered, defense is flexing hard, on 3rd down he makes his 4th mistake, Sean Smith dropped it, but nevertheless, it was a mistake.

    4 unforced errors by Sanchez...

If it wasn't for our biggest weakness on defense showing, {nickel corner} they would have negative yardage, Sapp and Carroll made mistakes.

Henne gets the ball at our own 4..

2 runs, and a drop for a first down by Bess...nice pass from his own endzone.

Back to sanchez, they get the ball at midfield..They open with the wildcat, 2 yards..Sanchez drops on 2nd down, gets pressured, and fires is arm forward with velocity, only thing, the ball flung out sideways about 10 yards...LOL..Wake absolutely positively scared the sh$# out of that lil boy....lol..omgoodness I wish I had the gif.

Thats 5 gigantic QB individual mistakes..all should of resulted in turnovers..

Henne would of been traded by now..

They try on a 4th down, after to being dominated, and got stopped..our defense has made them leave the field while being bood in the 2nd quarter..no BS.

Commentators say ''The dolphins looking every bit as the #4 defense in the NFL.''

both our nickels suck..I'am really not sure about Carroll..really sure about Sapp...I hope will allen is ready to go.

So check this out...We get the ball back at our 35 yard line, with 4 mins to go in the game..

we run 3 times strait for a first down...pheww.

another run on 1st of the next series for no gain,

another run to ronnie, who gets jacked up, and coughs up the ball at midfield, giving up all momentum..

Nice job ronnie..dude was soft last year.

    all Hennes fault huh?

Luckily our defense smothered Sanchez to close out the half..

Henne had 1 turnover, on the free and clear blindside hit..

Sanchez should of had 5 turnovers..he had 2..

That boy is gonna have problems operating from the pocket, When he does throw the ball with some velocity, he really needs to get his body behind it..Thats not good for them.

Average arm and our defense is exploiting him....I smell shottenheimer to the rescue with mis direction..He has to be on the move to make plays, keeping him in the pocket doesn't appeal to his skillset..

There was this play to start the 2nd half where Henne drops and looks for Marshall on the quick slant, safety blitz for the defense, Marshall falls on the play while Henne was loading the gun, he saw it and held back, tucking the ball and taking the sace...excellent play on his part.

I'am tellin y'all, were playin with them on defense, lots and lots of swagger when your lookin close..This is a confident unit, that I know realizes that if they can hold on to some int's, they have a chance to be great.

Keep Sanchez in the pocket and stay disciplined in your gaps and lanes, don't fall for play action, and you will kick his ***...He's getting his *** kicked in this game..lol

Murtha, Mcquiffstan and Berger along the interior in the 2nd half...Its pretty bad, free runs at the QB, penalties, no help from the run game.

some very good special teams by the dolphins especially R Jones..kid is hungry..

mid third quarter, dolphins defense dominating, Smith drops his third when Wake pressures him to throw another pick..

Fouts says Smith has a ''hat trick''..

and then, on the very next play, he drops his 4th.He completely misjudged the fairy pass that Sanchez threw and jumped early and dropping the football...he had room to run too.

Sanchez with his 6th potentially crushing mistake.

Henne takes the field on first down, play action to fasano on a deep seam route, Henne lofts it over the linebackers perfectly for a 30 yard play...big play putting us in field goal range..

Gave the kid a chance and he made a great throw in that situation.

    Wildcat play on first..

    Run on 2nd..

3rd and ten, Henne drops, the ball slips out his hand for a loss of 20..It is pouring rain..

    They have some momentum here..

No worries..3 and out, poor throw by sanchez..

Rain is really comin down...hard to evaluate anything at this point.

    Jets coaches trip Carroll...skumbags..

Great news, their stadium was built poorly in terms of crowd noise, much different than the old, not nearly as intimidating...lol...what a bunch of idiots.

Hey a phillip Merling sighting..blocked pass..

    Just stifling the jets..

both offenses sloppy in the rain.

SS24 really playin well, besides the 4 drops.. boy has some swagger..

Ronnie brown with a wildcat pass in the pouring rain in the 4th quater of a 10 to 3 game........lol..

lol..Sean has 6 passes defensed this game..

5 mins to goin the game, both offenses have been pretty poor..

Sparano is on the sideline all up in the face of his defense.

On 3 of sanchez's last plays, he got sacked twice and fumbled the ball both times, luckily being recovered by his own teammates, and the third was the 5th drop by smith..

Moral of this story, Sanchez does not get benched for what could of been the worst football game a QB has ever played...They stuck with him, fixed the problems around him, and went on a run..

    4 fumbles and 5 easy int's dropped..

    Peace..

This is ridiculous guys, why are we being so critical of our own?, its not deserved..

See, this was a game I LIKED of Henne's, the game was sloppy and he managed to find a way to play well enough to win the thing, his one real mistake was the fumble in FG range, otherwise he did what he had to do to win, even at 27% completions.

Also Pod, this game was very telling in terms of what Sanchez's weaknesses are...At least our guy can operate from the pocket, Jets fans can't be to happy..your gonna have call your offense accordingly..

It shows you what a QB can do with his feet in this league, and thats what sanchez's game is all about, making a few plays with his feet at critical moments of the game, cause sure as hell, he's not the QB that Henne is from the pocket.

The Nacho IS a Nancy Boy, but he is also clutch Deej, they have not went on 2 playoff runs with Nacho by accident.

As for Henne, the interesting thing with him is normally the AFCE has several bad weather games per yr, we have not had them in a couple of yrs, he showed he could handle playing in those conditions.

And his toughness, Pace splattered him and he just sort of shrugged it off.

He has shown a lot of toughness during this stretch of games and happenings..

Sanchez needs a lot of talent around him, at all times...There gonna lose holmes or edwards, LT another year older, greene is average...

Solai beat the crap out of mangold for the 2nd time this year...abused goldie locks..

Sean smith dropped 5 int's in one game....lol..

Lets hope for bad weather every time we play there..

Which is why I suspect the Jest come back to earth this yr, that and Rexxy has developed no one, 8 positional players are FA's, 3 Wr's, etc.

Salary Cap is going to bite them.

meanwhile our cap is in good shape..

I think Henne gets caught up on the deep ball on how to throw it, he isn't just throwing the ball freely, he's thinking right before,'' touch, no touch'', ''arch angle''...just let it go man..

I kind of see Henne improving as a Qb but not due to being a more proficient passer, more he will have more situations where he has help ala Sanchez, his receivers run routes designed to pick up yac and rac instead of what I'll call "catch and tackle" ones.

Backs to the defender, really safe throws, but not designed for the Wr to catch the ball instride, above the waist heading upfield so to speak., slants out and ups, go routes and more crossing routes.

Imho that is what was meant by putting him in better situations to succeed.

4 of them he should of had and can only be upset with himself, the other would of been a good play not a great one.

5 times that boy put himself into position..and came away empty.

After all the rewinds it appears that Henne has done a relatively good job for a second year QB, it also sheds light on what help the draft will bring, yet why is Henne so maligned by fans the media CK etc etc.
I saw all the Dolphins games last year and I never felt that the kid was wholly responsible for any loss.
I just don't get all the hating on Henne.

It was 5, positive. And don't forget the 3 fumbles. And in the first Jets game Jason Allen dropped 2 INTs. Then late in the 4th, down 24-23 Sanchez throws a soft lob right into Langford's hands. Dropped. The Jets scored the winning TD later on the drive.

really like us in zone concepts with Wake on the field...Me and Pod were talkin the other day about how we love it when we see 3 players rushin, and one is the ''Kracken.

And Nolan really just used the tip of the iceberg of his play book Deej, I watched some Denver games in 09 and Nolan was doing really off the wall stuff to make the D much more effective then it really should have been.

2 men Dlines, corner and safety blitzes constantly, stunts which I rarely recall us running in 2010, which is one of the reasons why I tend to think CK was a bit offbase about the Defense improving or regressing in 2011, if there is a 2011.

DJ I love our DL, biggest strength of the team IMO. The run defense is borderline dominant, I like the talent, the youth, the depth, all of it. The only thing I'd like to see more of is interior pass rush. Wake off the edge is a given, but is Starks, Odrick, Soliai etc can get more push in the middle our pass rush would rise to another level.

I agree we weren't overly aggressive and I'm hoping that we get after it a little more this season. OTOH we had 30+ dropped INTs so maybe I'm nitpicking, I dunno.

I think you are right on, I remember in one of those rare Nolan interviews last year him saying that the players were just starting to understand the playbook, mostly they made up their lack of understanding with their athleticism.
It could be interesting to see how stability in their coaching affects their play.

You may of confused a spin with me intimating that Sanchez's game was much worse than Henne's, yet Henne gets benched, Sanchez moves on, only giving my initial statement a little strength that the benching was unjust..

Not sure if you are seeing my angle in all this..

2nd year QB, relative to other 2nd year QB's, and the level of performance they need to play at, before a benching is warranted..

If you think defending that position based on the film is jaded, thats your opinion my friend..

    few questions for ya..

Just curious, Who's out there do you think can beat Henne in camp?

Why didn't we take a QB in the draft?..

Imo, they watched the tape, took into account some pretty poor variables he was dealing with, and came to some conclusions..

DJ is trying to look past the stats. Like rather than just being a superficial observer and say yeah the QB had x attempts, x completions, x tds, x ints, x qb rating, so he sucked, he cost us the game single handedly...he is digging a little to see why the QB had the results he did. What variables effected the plays negatively or positively, that were outside the QB's control.
He should be commended, not have his efforts trivialized.

i finally watched the game again, man i don´t know, i´m one of the greatest henne supporters you will ever find, i even asked for a "henne supporter" badge, but i dont know how i can find anything positive from his performance, it was awful to watch, i was looking at the play by play at nfl.com and midway through the 3rd quarter henne was 5 for 12 then i saw his total statline and it was 5 for 18 so to watch a game for 1 1/2 quarters and you know your starting QB wont complete another pass was tough to watch, the defense though was pretty good, still to many 10+ yardage plays that they give up imo, channing crowder was right though, soliai really beat up mangold in that game, that was the only thing i watched on D, sean smith could have had 3 picks imo....the most obvious thing i took away from this game though, mark sanchez really will have a tough time winning games at home in this kind of environment with his NOODLE ARM, man he was slinging the ball but it really didnt came out slinging, he had a tough time throwing the outs

See, here's he issue I have. You're seem to be saying that excuses are being made when the bottom line is that the QB play was horrible. You go so far as to insult the poster and possibly anyone who agrees w/ him as being "jaded". And yet you offer not a shred of evidence or anything factual to rebut what he's saying. No offense man, but what's the difference between what you're doing and trolling?

Well that is the skill on Henne's part Al, he was not driving the offense the weather was terrible and the running game not very good, but Henne did not make the huge mistake, he had one large one with the fumble in FG range, but in that game a pick 6 would have won the game for the Jets and Henne just did not give them that opportunity.

As you note with Sanchez some Qb's just cannot deal with that sort of weather "if" SS24 converts one or two int chances that game could have been a blowout simply because Sanchez had nothing for the Jest in that game.

One positive would be converting the two early scoring opportunities that the defense provided, including a TD. We had a similar opportunity vs Pittsburgh and kicked 2 FGs, which later came back to bite us in the ***. Another would be Henne didnt take any unnecessary risks, didn't blow the game w/ a silly mistake. He lost two fumbles yeah, but those are the only two lost fumbles of Henne's entire career.

No one is saying Henne played well. But you have to realize that our entire offense was overmatched, it wasn't just the QB. We have no running game to begin with, we're facing one of the better run defenses in the league. We only had two NFL WRs, one of which wasnt healthy. Marshall was doubled or bracketed for most of the day, Bess was being covered by Darelle Revis. So if we cant run and those are the matchups in the secondary, how are we supposed to move the ball? I dont care if we had Wonder Boy playing QB, we would've gotten our asses handed to us offensively in that game. How many points did Joe Flacco put up at NY this year? 13. Tom Brady? 14. Aaron Rodgers? 9. The Jets were able to shut down offenses that were far better than ours, and they did it without the driving rain and wind that helped both defenses when we played them.

Al, I'am not implying any such thing, only comparing the 2 QB's that day, Sanchez played far worse than any game Henne put on tape last year..

Padre keeps talking about how he liked how the game was managed thru such horrible conditions, severe downpour throughout the game..Sanchez should of had 8 turnovers by himself..lol.

You could see that Henne had noone open on more than a few occassions...75%Marshall/Bess...With Revis on the field, thee best corner that Ive ever seen, taking away one of those guys, with no run game, in driving rain?...shoot, thats tough man..

The more and more I see angles of receivers not pushing their routes in deep fashion the more I get excited about Gates and Clay, and Thomas and Pouncey.

Everyone is well aware that Sanchez is terrible. The problem is, Henne sucks just as much.

People forget that bad weather games later in the yr were a staple in the AFCE, cold weather, rain, wind, we travel to the NE to end the yr this season, a Qb like Henne can manage in it unlike the Titans who were just slaughtered in New England.
