A few things I'm curious about that may or may not mean anything: Merling is given a DE number (Could be an OLB number too I guess) and is still listed as a DE... Daniels is listed as a Saftey.... Jason Allen is listed as a CB / S.....I think he can emerge as a Pro Bowl FS if they'd leave him be, but that may explain why we didnt draft any CB's Mormino is still listed as a Center...I have a feeling that after drafting two OG's (Murphy and Thomas) that may both very well make the roster, Mormino is going to backup Center for at least this year.
I like Donald Thomas alot and think he will make the roster, but how in the world did we give out #66. There will never be another Larry Little.
I caught a glimpse of part of the depth chart when they had the camera in the war room. They had Ndukwe and Darilek as the LGs. So unless Mormino was listed at RG, he was indeed the backup center.
Was that on day one of the draft? I bet the Murphy pick changes that up assuming he's what they hoped in drafting him. I'd bet we get something like: LT - Long / Darilek? LG - Ndukwe / Murphy C - Satele / Mormino RG - Smiley / Thomas RT - Carey / Wilson I think Murphy ends up starting at LG next to fellow Rookie Long..or Murph at RG with Smiley at LG
Nope. LB. But Shawne Merriman was given #56 and was listed as DE his first couple of years. OLB=DE apparently with these teams.
