Ricky Williams has always been the better running back & has suffered no career-threatening injuries.
    simply put
if one or the other has to go, I think Ricky is the best of the two, has more rubber left & will to play...

Run Ricky Run straight into the 2011 season:hammertime:

Plus he is going to cost a lot less cash.

Everyone hangs their head about Thomas...... calls him Jabbar all over again. You get that rookie production out of Thomas you got from Jabbar I'll fall out of my chair.
Crux is Jabbar had a great rookie season. 11 TD's rushing.....1100 yards.
Don't want to give Daniel Thomas 307 carries though.
Thing is folks Ronnie is being replaced here. Not too tough to see.
Ricky will be back if he wants to be IMO.

Where's option 4 - Ahmad Bradshaw? I think he'd be a great compliment to Thomas; better than both Ronnie or Ricky.

I just don't see why they'd bring back another big back, like Thomas, after the season's both Ronnie and Ricky had. If I had to pick one of those two, I'd go with Ronnie Brown, as I think Ricky Williams finally lost that step he always had. I think Brown might thrive in a zone-blocking scheme where it's one cut and go, but still, give me Ahmad Bradshaw over both of them.

Well, I think Benson makes more sense then people would think, Sparano likes having 2 big backs to platoon, if they feel Ronnie or Ricky have lost that step, and I'm not sure they have, then Benson would make sense as the second big back.

To me, if it down to Lexxy or Ronnie, or Ricky, who do you go with?

I'd think the quick answer would be "anyone but Lex" but if that is thought about Lexxy has fresh legs, has shown he can catch the ball, and no injury history.

I don't think Cedric Benson's going to make it out of Cinicnnati based on what my "old boss" says.

As for a RB depth chart, I'd honestly rather keep Hilliard over Brown and/or Williams. However, I think if you get Bradshaw to fill that "Jahvid Best" role that Sparano talked about earlier this offseason, Hilliard can be a short-yardage and 3rd down back. He's shown he's got good hands out of the backfield, and I'd be inclined to see what he can do toting the rock a little bit; I'd still prefer Bradshaw over him though.

That is always going to be a big IF when it comes to Ronnie. While he was hurt, Ricky goes on to average 4.7 ypc and has the best single season rushing by a Dolphin since, well, Ricky in 2002 or 2003, take your pick. Last year, even with the muddled up mess the OL became by the end of the year, Ricky was still able to get over 4 ypc behind them. Ricky has one shortcoming, he fumbles more often, but IMO that is offset by his durability and productivity.

Bradshaw is awfully injury and fumble prone, D Williams is injury prone as well.

Which is why I cannot figure out why we only drafted 1 running back?

It makes -0- sense for them to not add another running back who fits their criteria, size, health, etc.

As for Ced Benson, we shall see, no one thought Palmer was serious either, I suspect Mikey Boy is planning on "sucking for luck".

So why pay Benson Franchise back money when some other, cheaper back, can just as easily have the snot knocked out of him on a 2-14 team?

I believe I said from the beginning that Brown wouldn't move Palmer. My "old boss" was right about that one. Benson's happy here in Cincinnati, and I think he'll give them more than a fair chance to keep him around given that they took a chance and helped him resurrect his career. As for the "Suck for Luck" - I can't see that being the case. Dalton's their future now and Marvin Lewis isn't as as short of a leash as the media has led on.

Bradshaw's no more injury prone than Ronnie Brown is and no more fumble prone than Daniel Thomas is.

Bengals will make resigning Benson a top priority, according to a Marvin Lewis quote in kffl.com. Consider they would offer him a feature back sized contract, and we would do no more than offer him a contract commiserate with a back who is going to rotate with Thomas. I think the odds we would sign Ced are rather low.

Offseason is not over yet R4, Palmer still could move, as for Benson, he will go wherever offers him the most money, I suspect all things being equal he'd like to leave Cinci.

As for sucking for luck, the same guy who turned down 2 #1's for Chad Johnson, anything is possible...:D

Disagree, he had plates and screws inserted into his ankles and he had foot problem.

Not a fan of his coming to miami.

Well, we can disagree on Bradshaw, but your thoughts on the Palmer/Mike Brown and Benson stuff are off base.
