We will see how long this lasts. But at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/28814951
As of now, there is mass confusion. Some agents are telling players to go and collect their workout bonuses. Some are saying not to go yet. Nelson's ruling will not be "officially posted" until morning. Owners will ask for a stay in the morning, pending appeal. Then, there are no rules on FA or a salary cap. They could go back to last year, 6 years t FA, and no cap. There may be other legal implications if this is done. So, there is a chance that there could be no rules, which would be crazy. All this with the draft a few days away. Gonna be a HELL OF A WEEK!!!
Here's the latest. ESPN's legal analyst Munsen said that Judge Nelson's ruling was so strongly worded, as to avoid a stay, that he sees it as highly unlikely one will be granted. If there is no stay, Mort is saying that "we could see FA on draft day." That would be something to see. Load up the fridge with beer, and plan on being sick from work Thurs and Fri.
FA on Wednesday, draft on Thurs-Sat. Would be a hell of a trip! Glad for this ruling, hopefully the owners feel some fire to get something done now.
