Something is happening, is now way that Inter is linked to every single player in the world and for some reason Ithink that Inter will do nothing.

Gattuso did play in England before, I hope he stays, but again we need to get younger.

Inter is winning Serie A: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tables?league=ITA.1&&cc=5901

Not only that but this would make them a second championship in a row. Plus they won the Italian super Cup... I fail to see how they are not able to compete with AC Milan and Juve?

In terms of fan support both domestically and globally, Inter is not able to compete with AC Milan or Juve.

Remember too, without the FARSOpoli scandal, Inter is probably now 15 years without a scudetto. Thank Luciano Moggi for these 2 scudetti.

And even their own fans domestically find it hard at times to root for them. When Materazzi is out of the lineup, they have 0 italians on the field. That's a disgrace IMO and will not generate many domestic fans like that

I don't believe Dirty Gattuso is going to ManU, Sir Alex Ferguson is always looking for young players. If Gattuso is going to play in the Premier league, I think he's going to Chelsea.

Capello: Becks could play at 2010 World Cup

MADRID, Spain (AP) - England coach Fabio Capello believes David Beckham could play for his country at the 2010 World Cup.

Capello said the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder could be called up for the tournament in South Africa should he maintain his fitness. Beckham would be 35 by then.

"The door is open. He played the last game, and did well against France," Capello was quoted as saying by sports newspaper Marca on Friday. "It depends. There are players who at 33 or 34 take good care of themselves, they understand that the body is not as it was and they take more care. It depends a lot on that."

The Italian coach handed Beckham his 100th cap in a 1-0 friendly loss to France last month. He said he regularly travels to the United States to keep an eye on the former Manchester United player.

Woody gets buzz over Spurs potential

Jonathan Woodgate has compared the potential at Tottenham to his time at Leeds when they were on the verge of conquering Europe.

The 28-year-old was at Elland Road when the Whites reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, a tournament he believes Spurs can eventually compete in.

Spurs have qualified for the UEFA Cup next season, meaning there is little to play for in their remaining three Premier League games - starting with Bolton this weekend - but they can build momentum for their next campaign if there are ambitions to break into the top four.

Rovers striker McCarthy signs on until 2011

Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy has signed a new three-year contract at Ewood Park.

The 30-year-old South Africa international, who has scored 11 goals this term, has now committed until the end of the 2010-11 season.

McCarthy, the club's top scorer after joining from Porto last season, had been in negotiations with the club for a number of weeks.

'I think it's actually done now which is good news for us,' said manager Mark Hughes.

McCarthy scored 24 goals in an outstanding first season at the club last year.

Wenger threatens to report Inter to FIFA over Hleb

LONDON (Reuters) - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned Inter Milan they will be reported to FIFA if the Italian side continue to publicly express interest in signing Belarus midfielder Alexander Hleb.

Wenger was furious with Inter coach Roberto Mancini who said this week the Serie A leaders were interested in signing Hleb in the close-season, even though he is still under contract to Arsenal until 2010.

'I find all the talk about the players completely disrespectful. When it comes directly from the club, enough is enough, we shall report them directly to FIFA from now on,' Wenger told reporters on Friday.

'If Inter are interested in Alexander Hleb, they should call us. We have heard nothing. I don't know why we always have to respond to these situations.

'Apart from Mathieu Flamini, all our players are under contract. You never hear me talking about players who are under contract somewhere else. If I want to buy someone, I call the chairman and I ask him if he is for sale.'

Wenger is refusing to close the door on making another move for Thierry Henry after the French striker said Arsenal would be the only club he would consider playing for in the Premier League again.

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=529023&cc=5901

The last part is most interesting, he says he is refusing to close the door on bringing Henry back.

    ========================================================

    Mancini Denies Talking About Hleb

"I have never made any declarations regarding Hleb," said Mancini, "or other players who are under contract with other clubs, for whom I have the utmost respect.

"Everything that has been reported on the press these last few days has been done in the form of questions, which were asked by the journalists and which regarded the transfer market. Questions which I always answered the same way, namely that for now all our attention is focused on the league."

Legend Suarez On Ronaldinho, Messi & Mancini

    Ronaldinho

"Certainly Ronaldinho will leave Barcelona,” said Suarez, who is regarded as one of Inter’s greatest ever players.

“His relationship with the club has deteriorated and the supporters have taken to Lionel Messi.

“I think Ronaldinho will go to Milan because it is the right place for him. I would rule out the chance of him going to Manchester City. The English team does not have the necessary appeal to convince him to move to Manchester."

    Messi

"Right now to sign Messi from Barcelona is impossible,” said the Spaniard.

“He is a phenomenon who was discovered young and it will take years before there could be someone else who can replace him in the hearts of fans.”

    Mancini

"Certainly the outburst after the game against Liverpool was wrong,” noted the 72-year-old.

“It was a moment of bitterness which Mancini has rightly apologized for. Mancini deserves to remain though. Perhaps Inter do not play well, but the squad are determined and are winners.

"Mancini knows the club and the club knows him, the merits and the defects.”

Benfica: Luisão And Nélson For Sale

Nélson's newfound transfer status isn't much of a surprise. But while the Portuguese right-back has been linked with the exit door for some time - with reports suggesting the interest of Sevilla and Aston Villa in his signature - Luisão's place at the club had always seemed rock solid.

It comes down to money. The Eagles are reportedly interested in using the funds from these two big transfers to sign players for the areas of the team that are in need of reinforcement.

Although the release clauses of Luisão and Nélson are set at €20 and €25 million respectively, Benfica are thought to be willing to off-load the two footballers for smaller fees.

Napoli To Beat Juve To Sign Piatti?

The 19-year-old Piatti is regarded as one of the most promising young players in Argentinean football, and he was a member of the victorious FIFA U-20 World Cup squad last summer.

The starlet is a diminutive and skilful support striker, who has been likened by some to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

Inter Sign Locatelli – Italian Press

According to press reports, Inter have come to an agreement to sign Siena playmaker Tomas Locatelli, who will turn 32 in June.

Locatelli was one regarded as one of Italy’s most promising young talents back in the mid-1990s, earning himself a move from youth club Atalanta to AC Milan.

However he never developed as expected, and despite winning two Italy caps in the late 1990s, he has spent the present decade shared between Bologna, and current club Siena.

    Milan Join Race For Güiza

The Jerez-born hitman is apparently much in demand, with Valencia and Barcelona already sounding out the prospect of signing the striker.

AC Milan have now apparently expressed their interest, too. The rossoneri have allegedly sent an agent to Mallorca to discuss the possibility of bringing the 27-year-old to Italy.

Milan's approach follows the alleged scouting of the forward by AS Roma, who are said to be looking for a centre-forward ahead of the new campaign.

Güiza, formerly of Getafe, has hit 21 Liga goals in 31 starts and one substitute appearance this season, a total bested only by Luis Fabiano of Sevilla, who has managed 23.

Gattuso Wants To Leave – Report

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Gennaro Gattuso has decided that he wants to leave Milan at the end of the season

Midfield hardman Gattuso has had an under-par campaign for the Rossoneri, and has performed way below the levels that saw him crowned World Champion with Italy in 2006, and European Champion with Milan last season.

There have been strong reports in the Italian media over the past fortnight that Gattuso could be leaving Milan at the end of the season.

Three of the biggest clubs linked with making a move for the 30-year-old have been Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Lahm To Barcelona A Done Deal?

The Spanish sports paper ‘As’ has reported that the defender has come to agreement with the Catalan giants over a four year contract. What is unclear though is whether the 24 year old will join this summer for a fee, or arrive next summer on a free transfer.

“Philipp Lahm has a contract with us until 2009 and I believe that he will fulfil it” commented Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

The German club recently withdrew their offer of an extension to the international’s contract after his demands were deemed to high. Lahm looks set to be a direct replacement for Gianluca Zambrotta, who is poised to return to his homeland, probably with AC Milan.

I personally adore Gattuso for the way he plays and I would like him to stay but if he really wants to leave then there's nothing Milan can do about it, I think they will talk after the season is over. I've heard the same rumors also about Gattuso going to Bayern with Luca Toni.

    About that.

    --Gazzeta dello sport

    http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Primo_Piano/2008/04_Aprile/25/flamini.shtml

    Milan, Done for Flamini
5 year deal at 4 million euros per season; this is how AC Milan seem to have overtaken Juventus in the auction for Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini. Yesterday the french player has finally refused The Gunners'offer for his renewal, and Juventus seem to have renounced to offer more than 3 million Euros per season.

I hope this is true but until I watch him wearing red and black then I'll believe it.

I didn't know Flamini doesn't want a contract renewal with Arsenal. Why? bad relations between he and the coach? between teammates maybe?:confused2:

    Ronaldo rewarded with PFA award

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year for the second time in succession.
The Manchester United midfielder has enjoyed another outstanding campaign having scored 38 goals in all competitions for the Premier League champions.

PFA award winner Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United poses with his trophy in Manchester. (PA / Associated Press)
The 23-year-old beat off competition from Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor and David James to land the prize.

Arsenal midfielder Fabregas was named Young Player of the Year - an award which Ronaldo also won in 2007 - at a star-studded ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday night.
