http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/19/dolphins-put-andy-dalton-to-the-test/ Why does this organization continue to embarrass itself ?
I don't really see an issue with what they did. They were pretending to be Brandon Marshall and after last seasons fiasco with Marshall yelling at Henne and Henne not doing anything about it, they need to know who will speak up and who won't.
Why is it we never hear about these kind of things from other NFL teams ? Dez Bryant, Dalton, the Harbaugh misadventure......this organization either has someone doing this on purpose (planting stories to smear them) or they are just the dumbest in football. No one else has any stories like these coming out at the same rate we do.....not even Oakland with brain-dead Davis as the owner.
jake long, karlos dansby, davone bess, brian hartline, anthony fasano, chris clemmons, vontae davis, sean smith, cam wake, koa misi, dan carpentar, lousaka polite, richard incognito.................... Anything else?
And? They've had success too, you know. Easy to pick out the screw ups. They are doing their job in the draft process.
And those players are 7-9 and 7-9, again that is what ? Atlanta has gone from 4 wins in 2008 to 13 wins last year, and a star QB and a real chance to win playoff games this year. Where are the Dolphins ? C'mon Chris, you know I am right.
The Miami Dolphins are not the only team to miss on picks in the 2008 and 2009 drafts. Pat White was a monumentally stupid pick. Merling was a head-scratcher, but considering everyone had him going to Washington at 18 that year, it was decent value at the time. Turner… you could see the logic, bring in a big guy and coach him up. His busting probably contributed to our trading for Marshall, which is one hell of a silver lining. Alen’s right. The guys who make the big bucks are doing their job. I agree it’s strange that we only hear about this stuff happening with the Dolphins, but part of that is likely a media template. Something happens, look for events that reconfirm the perception generated by the initial something. The something in this case is Jeff Ireland asking Dez Bryant if his mother was a whore. Frankly, I think it’s more bizarre that there’s a coach out there who’s worried about Andy Dalton specifically because of his hair color.
Time will tell, Alen, but I like my chances of being right about these guys. You can have faith in them, I lost it after those late season losses to 3 of the worst teams in the NFL.
I am saying they are doing their job in the draft process. I am not saying I have blind faith in them, I am not saying they suck, I am not complaining about Atlanta doing well - which they seem to be tied to Miami for whatever reason.
more factors go into 7-9 than the players. Coaches, bad play calling. Also, guess how many superbowls the falcons have........as many as the dolphins. And just as quick as you can turn around from 4 wins to 13, you can go from 13 to 6. Alot of parody in the nfl.
Well what is wrong with their organization that these things are leaking out ? It looks like someone has an agenda......and the bizarre things they always find themselves having to explain their way out of. It just gives Jets & Pats fans more reasons to laugh at us......
Why do you assume it’s the organization leaking this? Do you think the Dolphins leaked the Dez Bryant/Jeff Ireland question? Of course they didn’t. It’s the players telling their friends and/or agents, and word percolating to the media from there.
That whatever reason is two fold......that Parcells ditched the Falcon's owner Arthur Blank at the last minute to take the Miami job, and the fact that we took Long and they took a franchise QB that will probably lead them to at least one SB in the next couple of years. Just those two little ol' things....
Since when do people care about their thoughts? The Jets shouldn't be laughing at anyone when their coach is sticking peoples feet in his cakehole while the Patriots still have the camera hanging over their heads.
And that's based off of? Lets not project stuff here because if we are, Jake Long will probably enter the Hall of Fame and be one of the best LT's to ever play, keeping his QB's off their ***. ...and if that doesn't matter, then ask Matthew Stafford how his shoulder feels this morning.
Call me crazy but I think it was pretty savvy on the part of Da Balls. Unconventional? Sure. But, it may have been very telling. I'm not embarrassed by it at all. Even the Dez Bryant line of questioning looks pretty smart in retrospect, IMO. Obviously, these guys value good character and leadership qualities very highly. As well they should IMO. So, like I said...I got no problem with it.
WTF? Dalton should have looked at him and said.."I am not throwing you the ball you moron, you are the offensive coordinator."
Yes there is a lot of parody in the NFL (note check your use of parody instead of parity) Parody wiki = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parody Parity wiki = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parity I don't know if that you were being funny or not Using how many SB the Falcons have and the Dolphins have in the past is a non-sequitur. What matters is the future potential, and the Falcons absolutely have the better potential in the near future than the Dolphins. That shouldn't even be up for debate.
Btw, if this team selected Matt Ryan, people would be saying how average he is and how we passed on a 2 time pro bowl left tackle all the while complaining about Vernon Carey at that position when they didn't even like him at RT this past season.
But don't you think its strange that the only team the media seems to focus on about this kind of thing is the Dolphins ?
Last time I checked one played in the AFC Championship the last two years, and the other has been a perennial playoff participant in the last 10 years. I'd like the Dolphins to be like that.
How many TD has Jake Long helped produce since he has been here ? How much better is our offense with him or how much better would it have been with a QB that has All-Pro potential ? You can always get a decent OL, but as we are finding out, its much harder to get a QB with star potential. I wish people would stop defending the Long pick. It wasn't a mistake as much as a lost opportunity. And we're paying for it now with a really mediocre Henne for the near future.
Yeah all that character and leadership has gotten them so far hasn't it ? All those playoff wins and home wins right ?
I'm thinking this thread should be moved to the rant section. This issue is not an issue at all. It's just something else for disgruntled, immediate gratification types to cry and moan over. Daboll is the OC for the Miami Dolphins. He's acting like an OC and he's doing things DIFFERENTLY. Isn't that what everybody was hoping for from him? Think outside of the box? He's trying to put a QB, who may be drafted by the Dolphins, into stressful situations in order to see how he handles them. Is that not a good idea? Should he just ****ing serve tea and crumpets to potential draftees? Maybe he should make sweet, sweet love to them in order to find out what type of personality/leadership/charisma/talent they have?? WTF is wrong with some of you people?
Every single one we've scored he's helped produce? Our offense is pretty damn good with him in, I would say. It would be good as well, assuming you have someone to keep him upright. Really? Would you care to fix our interior OL then and while you're at it, give our HC and his staff some pointers? I wish people would stop being bitter about not having Matt Ryan on this team.
So you don't think that much then in our OL guru's skills do you ? But yet you think he's doing a great job ? Alen your purposeful counter to my remarks is making you look rather silly. You are painting yourself into a corner with those remarks.
And they have had playoff experiences, while our team lost its last 3 home games to teams that have been perennial bottom feeders and has lost 11 of its last 13 home games. Tell me their fans haven't had more fun than ours the last two years. Please tell me
Yes Jet fans are having more fun being fans than us right now. But we aren't inbreds, so we have that going for us still. And always will.
god if only the self proclaimed experts ran this team we'd have successive undefeated seasons. god forbid they take situ fron a frustrating season and use it to see how a candidate handles it unprepared, thats is ridiculously stupid. i mean fortune 500 companies do it to their interviewees so that must be stupid
Then he's been very lazy, because last time I checked, we don't score that many TD's Our offense is pretty good ? Really ? Are you being serious ? 31st of 32 offenses ? Okay.....if you really believe that Oh I wouldn't ever care to because I'm not a professional. I am just a fan, not someone who thinks he's something he is not, or has fooled other people into believing that. I'll stop being bitter when we finally get a QB that can lead us.
The last time a Miami Dolphins head coach utilized business managerial techniques, he was fired after going 1-15.
