Not a good 1st quarter for us. Missed too many easy shots. Refereeing is fair so far, but that's destined to change should the Sixers start to pull away.

The referees aren’t rigging games just because you think your team should win.

You wouldn't know it judging game 1. Five straight shooting fouls for the Heat in the 2nd after the Sixers take a double digit lead. 2 blatant offensive fouls not being called when the Sixers catch up in the 4th.

Your right, they're not rigging it because I think my team should win, they rig it to advance the Heat to the next round, and that wouldn't change no matter who the Heat are playing unless it's the Bulls or Celtics, and even then I'm expecting the Heat to get questionable calls in their favor. It's the same way it's always been, especially with the Lakers, and even more so in Boston. It's all a money thing. The refs are going to do everything they can to bring a Lakers - Heat finals, count on that.

That’s what happens when you attack the paint.

By the way, I saw more Sixers non-calls than Heat non-calls in game 1. LeBron could assault and battery file charges based on game tape.

Do the Heat stop attacking the basket when they get double digit leads? They sure don't. Yet for whatever reason the refs aren't swallowing their whistles when the Heat have a double digit lead. Funny how that works out. I know why, I'm sure you do as well even though you won't admit.

The Sixers didn’t attack the basket in game 1, so how can the refs call fouls on open jumpshots?

Heat blow the Sixers out, take a 2-0 series lead. I thought this one would go to six games. I might be wrong.

Absolutely! That's always my complaint when I watch them play. When they get big leads they run less, they attack less and they settle for jumpers more. Actually I think they relax on defense more which is what leads to running and attacking less.

You really thought this was going 6? I had 4 at max with the sixers possibly forfeiting game 4 after 3 bad beatdowns. That said, I hope the 76ers win but I sincerely doubt it

Yes. The Sixers have great coaching and one of the best benches in the NBA. I thought they could throw depth at the Heat and grind out a couple of wins. My prediction was that the series would start 2-2, then the Heat would close things out.

    After this game, though...

You mean that reverse 360 layup and ultimate facial on KG werent enough?

    http://youtu.be/4BE6t0af5Fc
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IU-4q0oWGvc

Melo is light years better then T-Glass. T Glass never lead the league in buzzer beaters over a 4 year stretch like Melo does (most go ahead baskets in the final 10 seconds over the last 4 years since Billups joined him). Melo is also the best rebounding SF in the league this year.

It doesnt have to be CP3 though Id like it to be him or Dwight. Marc Gasol + Wilson Chandler might not be a bad way to go either if they want to do it this offseason and keep Douglass at PG. They wont wind up having less cap space if the league goes to a hard cap. The cap is currently at 68M, it wont go down with all but 3 teams already well over the cap and the players union probably wouldnt agree to it anyway.

Heres the tripping non call on KG by the way for those who didnt see it.. http://www.theknicksblog.com/2011/04/18/officiating-edge-not-surprisingly-goes-to-celts/

Let me know when his team gets out of the first round. :tongue2:

You already have Stoudemire, you don’t really need Howard. I also don’t see Howard going to NY, but you never know. He almost certainly won’t stay in Orlando, at least.

Yeah, they do. Especially since the out of towners that do visit stay in hotels all along the beach, even if it’s not South Beach specifically. If you land at FLL, you’re like half a mile from the beach. MIA is further out, but it’s not too far from downtown Miami, which is right there at the beach.

    SOUTH BEACH BRAH. :shifty:

Melo's been out of the first round a few times losing to the eventual champion all three times (twice the spurs and once LAL).

As for Dwight...a front court of him, Amar'e and Melo would = Championships. Same effect as Gasol/Bynum except better. In a way it is what I am hoping most for. But Im not sure Dwight will leave. If the Knicks wait til the summer of 12 who knows....17.5M in cap space to play with could be enough to entice Howard..

Hatred for the Heat aside, I dont think anyone can really match up with the Lakers height. When they go Odom-Gasol-Bynum theyre impssoble to deal with. I know you guys beat them 2x in the regular season but in a 7 game series it would be really interesting. Im not sure even the greatness of Lebron and Wade could handle Kobe + those three.

Hey Boik...the Last two playoff games...

THE WARDEN has gotten FULL THROAT ..."MVP" chants ...(yes...MVP chants)

if Amare and THE WARDEN meet in round 2...the earth might implode and we will all be dead from this titanic struggle.

In fact...I think we will need to bring Wilt Chamberlain back from the dead for THE WARDEN to meet his match.

It's almost not fair. It's as if Coach Spo is bringing a nuclear bomb to a spit ball fight.

    I fear Portland and OKC.

From a Heat fan's perspective, nobody in the east is really scaring me. Obviously there are several teams we could possibly lose to but I like our odds against any opponent we may face.

Ya, I thought it was a couple of more times but guess not. Still, his playoff performance has been excellent the last couple of years: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/anthoca01.html

You should hear all the crap Melo is getting on sports radio. I swear only in NY could Gallinari and David Lee get more respect then Melo. People complaining that Melo should have passed to a wide open Toney Douglas in his first career playoff game. Then why the heck did we even get Melo? I swear some of these fair weather knuckleheads have to go.
No Billups tonight barring any last minute changes.
