If Melo shows up to play basketball tonight, the Knicks win this one going away. Stat was clowning the bigs for Boston and even Turiaf was making things happen. Melo with his bad decisions put daggers into his own team, especially at the end taking a bad shot (it would have been a higher percentage play to get to the line and tie it) with plenty of time to go. But yeah, if the refs still wore stripes, they'd have been green and white tonight.
They go legitimately 2 deep at every position. Its not a bad problem to have. Lawson/Felton Chandler/JR Smith Gallinari/Harrington Martin/Anderson Nene/Mozgov
ibaka says that frequently I bet...Hes very good now, but hes going to be an animal in another year or two when he develops more of an offensive game. I can easily see him becoming a 15point/12reb/3 block per game type of player. He averaged 10ppg/7.5rpg/2.5 bpg for the year but during March when he was elevated to starter he was at 12/10/3.
Truth be told, the Celtics offense is crap. Since the Perkins trade, it is ranked LAST in the NBA. I don;t know what it is...but it continues in different uniforms. Melo has traditionally been mediocre in the playoffs...and Amare has always been a monster. THAT was the GAME. Melo just makes AVERAGE decisions...you win the game. That call on Melo was terrible..it should have been a foul on Pierce. BTW..there was an illegal screen to free up Ray Allen on that shot according to Tony Douglas. Twitter is buzzing about it.
You guys need to make smarter decisions with the ball. Besides, you guys got my boy Chauncey Billups. Love his game.
Those former Knicks players just remembered that they’re former Knicks players. Talk about a collapse. OKC is really making this interesting.
I know the celtics offense is crap but so is the Knicks defense. For them, it doesnt matter who the opponent is, holding them under 90 is a huge accomplishment. Usually when the Knicks hold an opponent under 100 they win about 70% of the time. Thats garbage. Since he had Billups on his side his stats move up greatly. There was no true 2nd option prior to Billups arrival and thats why his stats were crap; when Billups arrived his per and PPG increased significantly. His stats in the playoffs are also dragged down by a tough rookie year in the playoffs. Yeah, he did something few rookies ever do..take their team from crap to the playoffs by leading his team to a 26 game improvement that year. http://www.theknicksblog.com/2011/04/15/is-carmelos-playoff-reputation-unwarranted/ Well we dont know how the CBA will shake out. The Knicks could have cap space and possibly quite a bit of it. It depends how they do things. If things stay the same with the CBA the Knicks should pick up the 17.5M option on Chauncey for next year instead of buying him out for 3.5M because then they could use the contract to net a CP3 or some other nice pieces for a long term run. If things change to a true hard cap situation where the cap is say 65-70M or something then the Knicks are in really good shape because the only players who are currently locked in past the 2011-2012 season are Melo, Amar'e and this years 1st. Everyone else is either an option or an expiring. I am starting to believe they may try and make a run at a Marc Gasol this offseason...dont know what the price tag will be in dollars but they need an interior presence and he is not a bad option next to Amar'e the big beast lol. I really want a poster of him framing KG Never miss a chance to take a dig do ya?
The more I stew on this the more I think that inbound alley-Oop with 30 some seconds left was the critical moment. Very aggrevating Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
what gave that away? that the Knicks didn't defend the first basic option on every single side in bound play, or the fact that the Celtics managed to score in 1.1 seconds in a 2 possession game?

Just terrible. Then again...the Knicks should have just switched it, and lived with a Garnett pick and pop. A Three is a killer in that spot.
okay...my bad. Couldn't switch. Turiaf was rotating and it would have left a roll to the basket for a dunk. Melo needed to show and take away the passing lane.
Yea while its not his best by any means it certainly was out of nowhere. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Can we get a tripping call on Garnett on that last shot by uncle ray ray? I mean ray Allen is a great player and he may have made the shot anyway but clearly Garnett tripped Douglas trying to rotate back to Allen. If the refs call that, the Knicks possibly win this game. Such is life I guess
All I know is we better get some " garden" calls when this game gets back to NY. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I would rather have an 8x8 man tool, and 3 Billion dollars...also id rather the neighbors loud *** dog swallow a bullet. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Melo is McGrady spelled sideways. They could also wind up having less cap space. See how that works? Here’s a serious question you need to consider: would CP3 join a rival team of LeBron’s, considering their relationship? I haven’t said anything Knicks fans haven’t while watching games over the last two years.
Wheres Section to tell me this clothesline by Ilgauskas on Jodie Meeks that didn't get called wasn't a laughable no call...
