for more info on portis read post blog they have a profile of portis. his play didnt fail at fla or md. he transferred from fla cause leak had 1 yr left and tebow was the star frosh. at md he cheated on a pop quiz stupidly and was suspended, the team moved on, portis did as well to div II where he didnt have to sit again. obly div II player invited to combine.

so basically yes i view him as a dev qb prospect and a decent one. he has a good arm, good size athletic. he didnt lose spot due to bad play bad decisions and bad fortune hurt him. i like the kid.

    That not true at all.

He din't play at Florida cause he couldn't beat anyone out however better QB's around him so I understand. At Maryland he was caught cheating suspended for the season and the next season he could not beat out Chris Turner. He split time with him but even that decreased by the end of the 2008 year. He transferred again to play much weaker talent

JL isn't a very big dude at all, doesn't look like an NFL LB...even Zach had the no neck going.

Either way I'm sure he wouldn't need to call his pops to handle me..LOL

well that is not what I read, he was suspended at Maryland when he came back they had decided to go with Turner. Was it because of play? maybe. maybe not His play on the field didnt cost him. He didnt play poorly, he didnt play. At Fla Leak was entrenched, and Tebow was highly touted, yes Tebow was considered a better prospect, he was bigger physical etc.. AT Maryland which sucks , from what I read he lost out to turner upon return. maybe because of talent or because of dumb decisions.

Kiper, McShay and Pauline all said teh kid obviously has talent, which is what I drafted him on. Boom or bust, which I can afford, I didnt bank my future on him. late in teh draft isnt play it safe time. sure there are som good value left but I cant take anymore dbs or dlineman. I have enough that I like. I felt like he was more high ceiling, with yes a bigger bust risk than a tolxien or a weber or johnson. At qb there isnt anything left, he has talent, whether he can get it right mentally that is teh big question, but he has teh physical tools. Like I said I hear what you are saying, if he didnt have the concerns, with his physical skills he would be at least a 3rd rd prospect as it is he is a late rd gamble.

He wasn't where he needed to be passing at Florida or Maryland. Anyway you like him and I don't but it doesnt matter. We all take risks on guy or developmental prospects.

oh i hear ya, not tryin to sway your opinion, iwanted dalton, stanzi, yates or devlin out of this draft, yates being my target in rd 6 but he wentvhigher than i thought, and all were gone before i could get them where i felt good drafting them (not sayin they were overdrafted, sayin based on my team, couldnt pass on othrs for a 3rd qb) so i just felt athletically portis had higher ceiling, yes lower floor as well, but i like the boom or bust late at skill position

Even better pick by the Bills. I was pretty tempted to take Wright.

Nor I, I'm only lukewarm on him, but for a 3,4th round grade, I couldn't pass him up in the 6th. I think he's worth a flier.

Edit: 169th pick submitted. Sorry about that.

Dallas can be skipped, as their GM has missed their last two picks.

That puts the Eagles on the clock with pick 172.

(btw Eagles I'll be happy to trade for 172 if you'd like ... :shifty:)

Oh alright, well I guess that means I'm on the clock. Ill wait till 2.20pm just in case dallas wants to pick. This is my last pick and I kind of just want to get it over with, so I don't really feel like trading down. I doubt I take the guy your targeting anyway :)

Why do so many people give up? It's really not that time consuming to make 2-3 selections at the end of the draft. Just come on and make a random pick if you have needs and be done. Or if you don't have anymore needs and won't sign any of your late round picks, just announce that you forfeit all those picks, so you don't have to waste our time.

    Just sayin.

I was going to pick him up with my next pick if he was still there, he would have made a solid LB in my cover 2

I was eyeing Kearse, but it was a toss up between him and Gray. I like both prospects though for a 3-4 NT position. Good pick VO.

I really like how my draft played out though. I didn't get a couple of guys (like Ian Williams and Shareece Wright), but I still got some solid depth players, on top of landing imo, the 2nd best pass rushing OLB in the draft.

I used the 2010 Dolphins draft method. Draft all defense, except one offensive lineman.

love the gray pick, wanted him at 191 he'd have been great to groom behind Hampton at nose at this stage of the draft, nice pick

If your talking about the one with me to get to #3 then thats crazy imo.

Cam Newton has the POTENTIAL to be a once in a lifetime player, and if YOU feel he has a good shot of realizing that potential then you did exactly what you should have.

Now if he flops then yea its a bad move but that will not be realized until well after the fact.

If you feel that strongly about him, I think it’s strange you didn’t select him at #2 instead of Gabbert.
