Well i knew it was 10 or so picks early, but serious reaches were happening and i felt i got good value trade wise, plus piked up a huge need in the process.
It wasn't that early IMO. I dunno, it wasn't a bad pick, it just confused me a little. Not a bad confused.
with the pick I could put Cedric griffin as a healthy(i assume) nickel back and put a playmaker a FS day one
I lked babineuax at FS as well, but felt moore was a as special a talent that could be had at what was left..
I liked Moore, but I think that is a bit high for him. I think he is the type of FS that can be great with good CB's surrounding him, but just good with alright CB's around him. If you look at his tape between 2009 and 2010 he was a different player because of the different CB's around him. He is the type of player that plays to the level of talent around him. I also think Moore is the kind of player that come draft day falls a lot more than the outside public thinks he will. I could see him being picked in the 60's in the real draft. I agree with you about the reaches though, if you identified him as the guy you wanted and pulled the trigger to move up and get him props to you. I personally had Aaron Williams ranked higher than him at FS. I think Williams is the better athlete and can easily make the transition to FS from CB.
I just disagree, IMO the tape is there, I liked Williams, but not at 31, especially 33 as a FS, but its all opinion and conjecture. Like what youve did though.
Nice pick. Being 7 picks ahead at 70 I identified 6 players I wanted to draft, one of them being Greg Little. Now I am down to 5 guys with 6 picks remaining...
Love Williams at 65 personally, considering the run on playmakers, felt like it was a great pick, let alone pairing him with Mallett!
Nice pick. Being 7 picks ahead at 70 I identified 6 players I wanted to draft, one of them being DJ Williams. Now I am down to 4 guys with 5 picks remaining...
I always liked pairing a college QB with at least one of his teammates from that side of the ball. Even if its not a skill position, its a comfort level. Nice pick in terms of value and skill as well.
how I feel exactly. When it got around the area I felt I had to get him. What better for a young QB than to have his safety valve and roommate over the last three years. Let alone the kids talent level.
Well talent wise I felt there were 2 TE's that were at least his equal, if not slightly better and prototypical for the position since Williams is an H-Back/TE much like a Travis Beckum a few years back. But its still a very solid pick
Nice pick. Being 7 picks ahead at 70 I identified 6 players I wanted to draft, one of them being Stefen. Now I am down to 3 guys with 4 picks remaining... Damn, Stefen was my top of the board I made.... Nice pick man.
I figure that's who had his eyes on. I would have drafted him, but really I had no need for a center with Kalil and Sullivan backing him up.
That my top rated center to go with my top rated LT and second rated running back. Im done except for my comp picks in round 6 and 7 who I wont be signing lol. I hope everyone loves their drafts as much as I do mine...if the Dolphins did this in real life Im sure Coach Fist Pump would wet himself.
Solid pick GIK. He would have been on my list had I needed a CB And dang, I was hoping I could pick tonight since ill be up late studying.
One of the Kiper brothers is working on a paper for a Law class because ESPN won't hire him for his draft evaluations... I think we'll have something up for the tail end of round one/round two late tonight or sometime tomorrow.
nice pick, and i almost took your pick just because of value, couldnt believe he was there still. in the end i feared i would lose out on the athletic pass rushing olb. i really wanted reed but passed for bpa, and almost did it w wis. so long way of saying very nice pick
Panthers are looking to move up in the 3rd. We have the 91st pick right now + a ton of mid round picks. PM me if you are interested in moving down.
I guess all these opinions depend on websites and sources used. None of us are NFL GMs so I assume for some/most of these picks we are all using some kind of projection. According to projections we've been using we stole Doss. According to Draft Scout we reached. So the dilemma is, since it seems like you and at least some others are trusting Draft Scout, which I don't think is a terrible site by any means, is do we continue to use our sources, or switch to draft scout to win the approval of the peanut gallery and voting piers. Tough decision, honestly. I'm hoping our draft will ultimately be judged on where the players we land will be taken in the real draft and not so much based on whether or not people feel we reached in the "fake" draft.
No. Not all. I am not using a site. I'm going by my own thoughts. I'm not using any site. I'm just giving out a site that some consider legitimate. I've seen it posted multiple times over the years on this forum. I don't have an issue with either. I do have an issue with people telling me I reached and they never saw the guy play.
You mean to tell me that in doing this draft, you have enough intimate knowledge on these hundreds of players to know their value and approximately where they should be selected in each round? You haven't looked at a single projection to gauge whether or not you're getting good value on any of these guys you want to draft? If so, that's extremely impressive. My hats off to you.
No, I haven't looked at players on sites. I made a list of the players that I've watched, figured out which fit my team and then I put a grade on them. My own personal grade. I haven't seen all the players so the ones that I haven't seen, I haven't commented and I don't have them on my "board". Why would I if I don't know who the hell they are? Its why my "board" is only 33 players and it explains why I've been looking to move picks. Some of my guys are being taken. Regarding value on players, I place my own value. Its why I stick to my "board".
If there was anyone in this league who I wouldn't question their opinion on the draft, it's likely alen. I don't know how much that tells you but it should at least say something.
For the record I wasn't being sarcastic when I said I was impressed. I have no doubts you know FAR more about these players than I do. It doesn't change the fact that I'd rather our draft be ultimately judged by where the players are picked in the real draft by guys that get payed to pick them, but since it's you guys who will be voting I guess we have to try and please you all with our picks as well. I'm a rookie at this so I'm learning a lot in the process.
How come? Isn't that the whole point? Given your knowledge of players, I would think it would be important for you to vote.
