Ginn also had a 53 yard TD catch in 2009. Marshall couldn't make a big play here if his life depended on it. I bagged on Ginn extensively but would take him back for a song.
I dont say no I say hell no. If were going to take him then we also need VY and we might as well motrage the draft and take Cam Newton. Lets go all the way and derail things. Chad Ochocinco seems available and we should also get TO for a steal. We can switch back to a 4\3 and install Crowder back at Middle linebacker, trade away Cameron Wake and a few of our other decent players. I am sure we can find some kids off the developement squads to replace them with.... Should make the season a riot LOL
For no draft picks? Sure, but maybe not under this regime. Don't forget he had a very decent season for us. If he doesn't have to be our #1, 2 or 3? Sure. His punt return average is 3 yards more than ours. Kick return only a little better last year, but his last year with us was a lot better than ours last year.
Yeah sorry I just had to remind you of Marshall's 3 TD's and that abysmal 2.8 YAC average. You didn't mention it. Ginn is a scrub but still managed to make 3 big plays in '09. Hell even Marlon Moore made a big play after catch last season.
Well, look at it this way, we need a #4 Wr with speed, who can return kicks and punts, we know Ginn can do that job. But if we pass on him that is fine as well.
He needs to get arms to go with those hands first. And, a body on top of those long spindly legs that will actually go with the legs into traffic. Ans to original post - would I take Ginn as a FA: NO!
i am absolutely amazed at even entertaining this thought .... W-O-W .... just W-O-W ... so did he find some mental toughness or grow some heart in SF .... i think not ... if he is still there after the draft, and for some ungodly reason he is our best option at KR -- only then would i even waste 1 brain cell on that thought ................ jeeeeeesh
Don't forget to suspend our best players for being in the f'ing do no good union and replace them with scrub players. Hey at least payroll would go down......which means maybe I could get a dog at the game next time for under $5..........hee hee hee
We could get that scrub Henne to throw the ball to him and change our team name to the Scrubalicious Dolphins. I kind of like it has a good ring to it!!
This is something I've studied 2socks, players who can achieve 2k all purpose yds are very very difficult to find, as in teams basically get luck to find a player who can do that, Ginn has done it once (07) and would have done it a second time (2009) if he had been kept on Returns all season, and he is also good for a return for a TD a season, when that sort of proven talent comes available for a low cost, you make the move. http://www.playerfilter.com/nfl/all...;ryds;recyds;kryds;pryds;dintcy;&s=t>f=2010 The way I see it, whatever he would do as a Wr is a bonus.
I wouldn't waste a roster spot on him....just my opinion. But hey, maybe he will cross the picket line...and you'll get your wish....lol He might actually get 2 TD's on the year......(strong sarcasm)
Ginn still had 1,500 all purpose yards and missed 4 games at that, to me we should have kept him for use as the #4 Wr and Returner as his replacements, Bess, Carroll, Cobbs, Moore combined for: Ted Ginn: 1,476 all purpose yds 2 Td's Replacements: Carroll: 655 yds Cobbs: 448 yds Bess: 284 yds Moore: 128 yds 1515 yds and 1 TD Carroll had a 24.3 ypa on returns, Ginn 21.6.
