In that scenario, there’s still no one to throw the ball to Marshall, Bess, Jones, Fasano, and Hartline.
Your assertion that he is referencing Hartline as inadequate as a #2 is just as fallible as my opinion on him selling Bess short ... based on your criteria. Might want to rethink your logic on that one As for my original statement, My opinion wasn't that he said there was no or few options ... it was based on him as meaning there was few options because of our lack of talent outside of Marshall ... which was purely an assumption on my part but also the reason I prefaced it with "I am not really sure" I agree ... I probably should have followed it up with why I felt that way but I really didn't think anyone would have an issue with it in the first place
GBN Decided to have some fun with their latest 3 Round Mock and project some trades in the 1st round that make sense to them ... but none of it is based on anything they have heard via rumors ... just their pure speculation ... no trades for the Fins though: http://www.gbnreport.com/2011projection.html
New Mock by Frank Coyle: http://www.draftinsiders.com/node/1345 15 Miami - 7-9 - * Justin Houston - LB - Georgia
Defensively I really only see maybe 4 players that might pique our interest. Peterson and Von Miller who will almost certainly be gone, Prince Amukamara who likely will be gone, and Aldon Smith as kind of a wild card. Bit raw, but athletically he is gifted. I don't really see how we can justify any other defensive player in the first round with the extreme needs we have on offense.
You can definitely justify especially if you don't think any offensive player is worth the 15th pick unless its a DL. We don't have much depth behind Misi and Wake and Aldon Smith has the potential to be that DeMarcus Ware type of pass rusher we could use.
I am saying that outside of the 4 guys I mentioned, I don't think I could justify a defensive player. And frankly, picking an OLB in the first is hard to justify as well. You are making either this years first rounder or last years deuce a part time player and that just cannot happen. We need to be pulling starters, not depth or part timers.
IMO it's only justifiable if the LB possesses either elite pass rushing potential or tremendous versatility.
Speaking of Frank Coyle ... I found this little nugget of his in a Packer chat transcript: http://www.draftinsiders.com/node/1349
Walter Football posted their post combine 6 round mock: http://walterfootball.com/draft2011.php Fins Picks: 1 - Mark Ingram, HB 3 - Quinton Carter, S 4 - Pat Devlin, QB 5 - Lee Ziemba, G 6 - Julius Thomas, TE
I think we should at least appear that one of the stud Defensive players are on our menu just to entice a trade..hopefully. Funny thing about the Draft though, sometimes things work out the best when there is no movement.
I'd almost draft this kid <Watt> just the keep the Pats' filthy hands off him, but wouldn't be surprised if he were taken in the top 5. I wish we grabbed Best last year b/c I'd rather have Watt than Odrick. I'd consider drafting him at #15 while trading Langford for a 2nd-3rd rounder and use that pick on a RB. Watt, Soliai, Starks, and Odrick would be nasty. If Odrick and Watt stay injury free and play lights out, then Stark could be traded for a decent pick next year. Too bad he can't drop 20 pounds and move to OLB considering how quick and agile he is for his size.
does the putz know we picked Misi in the 2nd round last year...this projected pick or any other linebacker not named von miller at 15 is nonsense imo..Reserach failure.. If the offensive player that you wanted at 15 isnt there at 15, than you simply trade down....
