Ricardo Lockette was an interesting player at the combine. However, I always shy away from players who seem to "come out of nowhere" at the combine. I am not sure what his draft grade is at the moment, but I am not sure I would use a draft pick on a WR who has limited production. Certainly would like to give him a look as a UDFA.

We absolutely need a couple burners, but all this speed talk has me worried that we're going to draft an OL at 15.

At least OL is a huge need. I wouldn't be surprised, however I wouldn't really like it if they took an OLB

Yeah we're hurting for a LG. But IMO any time you can get a premium player (QB,LT,OLB/DE, CB) then that may trump a player at a position of "need".

I think that depends on the LG. If they were able to get an all-pro LG at 15, I would be down.

However if I would guess I would put Miami down for a OLB, RB or WR. That is of course if they believe that Misi could play inside or just having a linebacker type defense.

They could surprise me and go QB. There are some decent choices for 15.

I'll take Julio over Ingram no questions asked. You get a guy who instantly becomes one of the best blocking WRs in the NFL....... and you get an elite talent who would be ready to assume the #1 role by the time Brandon's contract is up. It's rare that a team is even in position to grab a receiver of this caliber, so IMO you jump on the opportunity if you have the chance.

If he's sitting there at 13, I'd leapfrog the Rams to get him.

Agree completely. If there's a Pro Bowl caliber LG out there, I'm all for grabbing him. But if there's a premium position player w/ equal potential then I'd take a long look at him as well.

Or a nice, safe, Linebacker, like Ryan Kerrigan, maybe Martez Wilson..Wilson would be niiicee.

There are going to be some disappointed people on April 28th around 10pm or so.

Why? so he can sit behind Wake and Misi? lol. If we're going for a LB, then he better be an elite pass rusher, which Kerrigan is not. Wilson has a better shot at becoming a stud pass rusher than Kerrigan IMO.

Cannot have to many quality pass rushing linebackers.

Odd thing is I can recall the Ireland/Cowboys drafts being posted and they generally did give a good idea of how Ireland drafts (linemen early, late rd defensive backs with speed) and yet for this demand, no one is posting them anymore, hmm wonder why?

Wouldn't surprise me to see Sam Hurd brought in to compete for the #4 Wr role, he is solid ST guy..

Is that sexy enough for you TP?

    Hell no!! lol.

The last thing we need is another damn slow possession receiver, no matter how good his ST skills are. Hartline shouldn't get a pass just b/c he's a crappy STer..... and Hartline being a crappy STer shouldn't be the reason why we don't attempt to upgrade him.

That's just backwards. "Let's not upgrade #2 WR b/c Hartline is a poor STer as a #4".

 Yeah, but can he get on the rides at Disney World?

    J. Jones is a no-brainer, if by some miracle he's there at 15 you take him like the Secret Service tackling a guy with a gun on the White House lawn.

Hankerson would be a huge get if we could trade down the round or pick up two 2s; 15 is a bit high for him, although the sky's the limit as far as talent and potential. Put it this way: he made Jacory Harris look good.

Lockette is intriguing; anytime you can get a guy that big who runs that crazy-fast you have to look closely.

lol yeah get great depth at Lb while there are no running backs, 2 Qb's, a need on the oline, and no return men or one speedy Wr...

I'm all for a Lb but later on in the draft or elsewhere

Depends......... are we talkin daytime or night time?........ and is he smiling or not smiling? If it's night and he's not smiling, then my money's on him dartin right through.

Wait...... I thought Cam was the no-brainer. :shifty: I kid, I kid. lol.

I wouldn't be all too upset if we landed Hanky either; IMO the kid's best football still lay ahead of him.

Good call on Lockette....... although his 2nd forty time was much slower when the police siren wasn't playin in the background. Just sayin.

Anyone seen SMU's speedy Aldrick Robinson this year?

Add Vince Young, maybe Daboll can make Hilliard into Hillis?

And Centers are usually undervalued in the draft, I'd like to have O'Dowd kick Rich I to RG, Garner to LG.

Nah, Kerrigan scares children, something our defense lacks.

If Julio Jones is around, you take him. However, I don't know if these guys have the nuts. I still think the pick is Ingram.

I'm sure we'll get back to that someday. I love draft time, and when I see that there is not much of a chance to change the one thing I would like (like with an Andrew Luck), then it's time to look elsewhere. And elsewhere (other needs) are pretty obvious and a much more of a sure fix.

Kerrigan is a baller but when you have a defense already ranked in the top 6-7, and your ENTIRE offense scares noone, then you do what it takes to balance the TEAM out...

Good question. It's been so long since we've seen an effective one that most of us have probably forgotten.

Hillis was always good. Daboll only ran him out. He was underused in Denver. Something that really struck me in the 2008 season was how that FB from Denver torched us for over 100 yards receiving.

We can do Field Goals, we are good at that, a 9-3 game in Sun Life in 95 degree heat, with like 6 sacks and 3 turnovers would be my idea of the perfect football game..

    They don't.

Nuts, sense—whatever, they don't have it. That's the truth.

    They won't take Ingram either.

I miss the patented "Wanny Confused" look on the sidelines at least 12 times per game Ozman.

Do think a Franchise is better off moving in contra to what the rest of the NFL is doing, my goodness I've seen so many actual 3 yr "wonders" in the NFL, the 46 defense, Run and Shoot, Greatest Show on Turf, they all work, but the league catches up.

Smashing the ball into the opponent's defense for 5 ypa always has worked, now how do they get there?

I've seen so many teams like the Bears win football games, a balanced squad that played fundamental football in all 3 phases of the game that used their homefield as an advantage, it is not rocket science, the key is to not miss on high draft picks consistently, and to have some playmakers who give advantages and to have a good mix of veterans who start.

I think one of the problems in 2010 was our lack of veterans, even down to the Oline.
