Yeah, we've got lot's of room to grow and we'll see how Turkoglu works back into the system. I think he'll do fine. Arenas is another story, it sounds like he's ready to play though. It'll be a while before we're dominant again I think. Otherwise, best of luck to the Heat with the Suns on Thurday and the Lakers on Saturday. Always glad to see a Florida team win over a Western team
Wait Gasol will have to be moved or Gasol's number (talent vs. salary)? There's no limitation on our payroll to having Gasol and Howard. None.
Orlando will not take Bynum straight up. it is suicide. Bynum is a guy with a declining cap charge coming. You don;t fill up your cap space and give away your best asset. Unless of course...Otis Smith is a closet Laker fan. he makes FA or he resigns. Period. he won't be traded..unless of course..Gasol is the bait.
We've won back to back games against two of the best teams in the NBA. Tonight we play one of the worst, the NJ Nets. I'm hoping we get a win streak going.
Shhh don't talk too loudly or we'll have all of the Heat bandwagon in here telling us how bad SVG sucks, Otis is ******ed, we made a bad trade, etc, etc.
SVG sucks, and Otis Smith is ******ed. Having said that...if they can go get a Troy Murphy type (a real stretch #4) then I like the trades.
Coach Spo has over 100 in 2 1/4 years. he will have 300 in no time. I am a Heat fan. We Heat fans are not big on SVG. He is our Wanny. he has been good for you, congratulations, but he was bad for us.
That's 5 in a row with a win over the Knicks last night. Next up is Golden State with only 4 road wins, so it should be a walk in the park. A little concerned about Dwight's foul trouble. He's got so many technicals right now, he's bound to miss a game eventually.
I'm a little concerned with the T's. I feel like he does complain a whole lot but has reason to most of the time. He is started to be looked at as a whiner.
Thankful that that short losing streak is over with a win against the Timberwolves. NOW, it's time for a big test up in Boston on Monday night.
Heat score 63 in the first half, 33 in the second half. Both Bosh and LeBron get 3 point shots off in the last possesion. Both miss. 2nd largest comeback in Magic history. 24 points down in the 3rd. 18-0 run sparked by Jason Richardson, and horrible Heat shooting, allows Magic to take the lead for good.
http://www.nba.com/games/20110303/ORLMIA/gameinfo.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1 I havent got to watch a lot of games this year. But this was a great one.
The Heat threw that game away. I take back all the negative thing I said about Jameer Nelson. He played well and led his team in the 4th quarter. The two Richardson contributed a lot for the Magic. Quentin Richardson guarded well against LeBron. For the Heat, D-Wade and LeBron did excellent on the first half but somehow, LeBron let D-Wade take control on the 2nd half and everything collapse after that. LeBron ended up with 0-2 in the second half? Weird thing that LeBron got his first foul on the 00:26 in the 4th Quarter. LOL
yeah. the heat stopped scoring when lebron stopped shooting. he was making everything in the first half.
Lebron was 3-6 in the second half. Wade was 0-6 and missed 4 FT's. EPIC collapse. EPIC COLLAPSE. Heat kept collapsing on Dwight and 3's kept raining on the Heat. I didn't think they could match the collapse vs. Utah in November. This might be the biggest collapse I have ever seen any Heat team ever complete. ALL of them should be ashamed. Especially Wade. he was shooting bricks at a record pace. At least Lebron can say he was 3-6. But 6 shots? The Heat is the #1 defense vs. 3 point shooting. They allow the highest total of 3's made all year. and if they contested ONE of the threes...it was too much. Either Spoelstra was an idiot for paying that much attention to Howard while it is raining 3 pointers, or they were just in full blown choke mode and rotating to the wrong guy. This was a disgraceful loss for ANY team. ANY TEAM..from the worst, to the best. As for Orlando, it is what it is...they shoot a bunch of threes, they have a guy that owns the paint, when they make their threes...they are tough. It is why I keep saying to everybody how dangerous they are. In a series, they can get hot from three to win a series. In the long run, not so much. DISGRACEFUL.
You can question the Heat's defensive strategy all you'd like. But they just held Dwight to less than 20 points. Something that has only been done 2 times in the Magics last 16 games. Both by the Heat. There is a reason Dwight averaged 30+ points in February and won player of the month, AGAIN. If you dont pay attention to him, you will get burried with 3's. The price to pay for stopping the 3, is Dwight will devour you inside. The only way to stop it is for Orlando to have an off night shooting, or to get Dwight in foul trouble. Also, that wasnt the most 3's made this year. Orlando made 19 earlier this year against someone else. This isnt new. The Magic do this for a living. March 3rd - 16 Threes - http://www.fox19.com/Global/story.asp?S=14185103 Jan 26th - 16 Threes - http://sportifi.com/news/ThreePoint-Barrage-Leads-Orlando-To-Victory-Over-Indiana-1117181.html Dec 28th - 19 Threes - http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/dec/28/magic-hit-19-3-pointers-in-110-95-win-over-cavs/ As of Dec 28, The Magic have made 10 or more 3-pointers 14 times this season and are 10-4 in those games. Needless to say they have done it plenty times since then. They lead the league in 3's every year.
Most threes allowed by the HEAT all year. As you say, the Magic are great at the 3. The Heat s the #1 defense vs. the 3. Allowing 16 made, and about 15 of them uncontested is unacceptable. We do a great job on Howard every time., Howard can;t score on our defense. We close out his moves and we defend him better than anybody in the NBA. It seemed as if there was too much attention paid to a guy that gets his 2 at a time at the expense of leaving a ton of open 3's. Up 24, you force DWIGHT to try to bring them back one on one. You don't send everybody at Howard and leave open looks all night. 55% from three? That is 15% above average. it has zero to do with how good a three point shooting team Orlando is. it has to do with terrible defense, and a EPIC collapse, and a epic choke job by Dwyane Wade and to a lesser extent Lebron James on the offensive end.
I can't believe I missed the game last night. An awesome comeback for the Magic. Got a really good Bulls team coming to Orlando tonight. I'm surrounded by Bulls fans up here in Brookfield.
I guess playing the Heat the night before wore us out. And Howard was pissed all game, especially after he got that one game suspension for too many technical fouls.
Actually, the Bulls defended Howard better than the Heat. Chicago anticipated passing lanes, stole Dwights dribbles, and were more committed to rebounding and full court pressure than the Heat. Fouling Dwight was Chicagos answer if they couldnt stop him from getting the ball. It was a good strategy because Dwight was 100% when he got a shot off last night. He is never 100% from the foul line. He still got 20 points, but the Bulls held Orlando to 81. Thats one of the most difficult feats in the NBA. These Bulls can go as far as they want, as long as they can keep up the defensive awareness and incredible hussle they showed last night. If you told me the Bulls were going to score 89 last night. I would have laughed and said, I bet they lost by 30. Instead they won by 8. All the credit to them. oh, and LOL at the Heat getting destroyed by San Antonio. 17 3's. #1 defense my ***. This schedule is going to take the Heat from #2 to #4 in the East.
hmmm. I didn't see this post. How Ridiculous is this post by Gish? LOL! The Heat played San Antonio on the second of a back to back and got killed. SAME thing happened to Orlando versus the Bulls. Or maybe you don;t follow the NBA or knows how the regular season works. The Bulls DID NOT defend Howard better, seeing that he shot...oh...100% (ONE HUNDRED PERCENT) from the field against them in that game. AND in the LAST ONE...scored 40 FORTY! on them. No mention of course of the Heat beating the Spurs by the same amount, but with both teams getting rest BEFORE the game. Wouldn't expect that. #4 in the east? So you were the last hold out thinking you had a chance in hell at catching the Heat? LOL.
whether he shot 100% or not, they limited his shots and defended the passing lanes very well to keep him from getting the ball.
Personally...I like the "beat the crap out of him" defense the Heat play on Howard instead. You try to matchup with Howard..he will bury you under a mountain of dunks and grab 18 boards on you.
Gotta be careful though. He's been getting better and better at the line, especially in the 4th quarter. Plus hack a howard leaves it open to rain 3's.
Thank God the playoffs are finally here. I'm anxious to see how the Magic hold up in a series. Game one is Saturday night in ESPN when the Atlanta Hawks come to town. And I'm glad that Dwight's technical foul record doesn't carry over into the playoffs.
What an ugly game tonight, can't believe they pulled out that win. Dwight with a complete game and I hope that doesn't come back to bite us in the *** later on. What was up with the end of the game where the refs had a discussion for what seemed to be 5 minutes. Making sure the odds are covered?
