I would like to see the Dolphins trade down with possibly Seattle and pick up a second round pick. I think Seattle would be willing to trade up to get a QB like Mallet rather than sit back and get QB like Locker. With that said this would be my draft: 1) Jonathan Baldwin 2) Daniel Thomas 3) Clint Boling 4) James Brewer 5) Cecil Shorts III 6) Alex Green 7) T.J. Yates 7) Brandon Saine No we didn't get Ingram in this mock, but a combo of Daniel Thomas, Alex Green, Brandon Saine, and either Hillard/Sheets would make a deadly RB corp. We also add Baldwin and Shorts III to a WR corp including Bess, Marshall and Hartline. Baldwin is a tall speedy deep threat which will take some focus off of Marshall while Shorts III is also a deep threat as well as a kick/punt returner. Clint Boling and James Brewer will add some much needed help to our OL. Boling will help at G while Brewer will provide depth at OT/G. Finally, we could complete our offseason by making Zach Miller (TE) our number one FA target. If we miss out on him we still have Shockey or Daniels as another option. Add a defensive player or two in FA and our team looks pretty solid.
Well padre, if you look at the first round draft order Seattle picks at #25 and I think all the teams between #27-#30 could all pick Jonathan Baldwin. In that range you have (in order form #27 to #30) Atlanta, New England, Chicago and New York Jets. Atlanta could certainly use another WR opposite Roddy White. New England could use that tall, deep threat WR in their offense that they had back when they first acquired Randy Moss. Chicago needs talent at WR and Baldwin would probably be the #1 WR on that roster. Finally, the Jets could pick Baldwin to replace Edwards if they can't afford to hold on to both him and Holmes. Besides all of that Padre I simply think Baldwin is the third best receiver in the draft and A.J. Green along with Julio Jones will both go in the top ten.
honestly, if the draft went down like that, I wouldn't be terribly disappointed. I don't think we need to take 3 RB's though.
I certainly thought the same way initially. However, I am not interested in resigning either Ricky or Ronnie and Cobbs will not be with the team either. This leaves three openings at the RB position. Daniel Thomas, Alex Green, Hillard, Saine/Sheets would be a really good lucking RB corp with a nice combo of speed and power. To be completely honest, I thought about resigning Ronnie and drafting Daniel Thomas and Shane Vereen in the 2nd and 3rd round respectively. However, our OLine would suffer and I think we need to improve that in order to protect Henne and ensure the success of our running game. I sacrificed picking Vereen and went with Boling and Brewer coupled with Alex Green and Saine in the later rounds to fill both needs.
