I would have to be insane right? Here's the deal. I have been approached by a team with a mega deal. I strangely considered the deal but I have turned it down. I'm not looking to flip the Patriots as the team is built for the "now" and it would take something truely special for me to move him. BUT, with all this craziness going on so close to free agency, I will look at how desperate you really are. I will console you as best I can. Send me PM's. Don't ask what I want in return. Send me your PM's.

It's not a ploy sir. As a man who understands the market, when to buy low and sell high, timing couldn't be better to gauge things. It might have to be a three team deal though. The obvious qb's I would want in return? Brees, Rivers, Rodgers... but perhaps there are other qb's who would tickle my fancy. Freeman, Cassel, Schaub???

Why would those teams trade there QB plus more? I just don't think you will ever find a deal for Brady. Doesn't make a lot of sense but Paul if anyone cAn make it work I believe it's you. Your great at driving a hard bargain and getting whAt you want.... Probably explains why we don't do a lot of trades together lol

I take it into account. Maybe you don't, but I always have. And I know others who have as well.

There's no spreadsheet with what ones overall rating is either. Not everyone treats this like a Madden franchise, you know.

I treat it like sex, I put in what I can and it feels good for a while and bam next thing you know it's over a lot earlier than I anticipated.

Besides that I take a look at the trades themselves, how much easier it was for a specific team to get said players. Also the turn over of roster, and the lateral trades and if trading to just move a guy really adds much to the team and yes chemistry.

How do we know Jake Long and Joe Thomas couldn't coexist??

Who decides who has chemistry with who? It's all just a guess because Noone really knows how Manning and Marshall would get along.

Also Phins announce their team will all go bowling every Wednesday after practice to create team chemistry.

What about all the **** canning of coaches? How does that build team chemistry??? That is far more impactful to a teams cohesiveness than trading a specific player. Now, I get the whole argument about completely turning over your roster, that's a detriment to a degree. TBH, I've never done that. But if I can make my team better thru trades, I do it. bottom line.

The biggest knock about too many trades for me is if you acquire a player and then a week later trade him. If I see a lot of that going on with a specific team, that lowers their "rating" for me.

All that matters is how your team looks at the end, you guys are trying to make a lot out of NOTHING.

yay, everyone needs to hug it out.

Back on topic though. Tom Brady, definitely worth it to trade for if you have the pieces but really there's no one behind him like during the Montana/Young days, so why trade the franchise quarterback every team wants away.

Funny, thats what raises their rating for me. It means theyre easy to work with and they know how to make their team better through deals. If you can turn poop in to gold more power to ya. :shifty:

I'm not saying chemistry like "can Marshall and Brady co-exist"... I am talking of a complete turnover of an offense line that has never played together. 5 completely new receivers that a quarterback has never thrown a pass to. Stuff like that... just simply things that you know will take time to work out. D-Wade, LeBron, and Bosh don't have perfect chemistry right now, do they? They surely didn't have it at the beginning of the season either.

It's the same idea that some people have with draft picks... they would rather trade their draft picks away for established players because of the "star power" and how it looks at the end. I enjoy all three phases so that's not really my style... and I try to build a good team for the present and the future. I'm not saying I do a good job at it, but it's how how I look at things.

Obviously everyone thinks differently so I'm just one person with one vote.

You're right... I guess I should not have used a basketball reference...

But if you want to downplay the importance of chemistry between offense linemen, quarterbacks and receivers, etc... that's fine. But IMO, there's a huge difference between adding one or two new starting lineman or one or two receivers compared to replacing the entire unit.

Good thing their old asses have Rondo to fall back on now or they would be at the bottom of the playoff picture looking up.
