I happen to think he gave up the better LT there and PFF supports me in a big way on that one. I dont believe he would actually put Albert back at LG where he played a year at Virginia and swap Oher back to RT where he was mediocre his rookie year. I like what Skeet did there in a big way getting the better LT and getting a good TE.
the ability to get crabtree, at imo a reasonable price, from alen was what allowed me to do the deal. Thomas was my hangup the entire time
Jacksonville Jaguars trade the second overall pick to the Cleveland Browns for Mike Holmgren’s stash of gummy bears and Holmgren’s old stash of Pamela Anderson Playboys with sticky pages.
Throw in that dude that wears a dog mask in the dog pound and its a friggin deal. Which one you ask, you know the one.
If someone would deal me the mask from Scream I might deal you Hakeem Nicks. Now at least two of you have offered top 20 picks for Nicks but there was no mask from Scream included.
What would you say to neve campbell and the other girl, not denise richards, but that chick that was on 2 and 1/2 men. I would also want JPP in the deal.
The one that played Candi would be a go since its so hard to find a hot redhead but the one that played Mia or Chelsea...well Im just not sure
I think Oher was better at RT than you’re giving credit for. He’d still be playing there if Gaither wasn’t lazy.
He gave up 5 sacks 6 hits and 21 pressures in 2009 from the RT position. Last year from the LT position Oher gave up 9 sacks 12 hits and 28 pressures in 1179 snaps. Peters gave up 2 sacks, 2 hits and 28 pressures in 879 snaps. What am I missing? Peters gives up pressures just like Oher but less sacks and hits. He keeps his Qb cleaner.
Last year wasn’t a great year in general for OTs. There was pre-injury Jake Long and then there was a group of big guys. Oher was runner up for OROY as a RT. And don’t bring up The Blind Side or say he was coasting on rep; if that was true, he would have outright won OROY.
You can't just look at the stats and draw 100% conclusions on them. You have to factor the offenses each player had. Eagles... west coast, get the ball out in a hurry... Ravens, slow footed Joe Flacco, 5 and 7 step drops, multiple reads, the qb holds the ball longer. I'm not saying Oher is better than Peters or vice versa... just saying the offense plays a role in the stats.
Well based on the stats and based on what i watched he shouldnt have been runner up for OROY. I dont know what they based on but it needs to be re-evaluated
No question the offense plays a role but Philly also throws the ball more per game then just about anyone and their run/pass ratio is much higher then most. i dont make my evaluations just based on stats, its done more off of what i watch but the stats back up what i watched in this instance.
Luckily for Peters Michael Vick can escape pressure rather easily, where as Flacco is the type of QB to just sit back there all day and launch it deep or take the sack. I think someone asked me what I am going to do with all my tackles, here is the current plan for my Offensive Line: LT Russell Okung, LG Brandon Albert, C Alex Mack, RG Maurkice Pouncey, RT Michael Oher. That is all subject to change due to potential trades, but as of now that is what it looks like.
any QB that can escape pressure can also run themselves in to sacks. Those are also counted against the tackle as well. To each their own bro but to me Peters is the better player and its not particularly close. Fwiw, that is the best OL right now that I see.
Yea that OL won't have 45-50 Pro Bowls between them, by the time they retire. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Best Line in Football no doubt. Oher Is a great RT but just a above average LT. Peters is the better player but he was not looking for a LT so he got a guy great for his line as did I. Eagles GM was a stand up guy thru out the whole deal and I look forward to dealing with him again. We both got what we wanted.
Eagles just took advantage of a great opportunity. Ive never been so giving. All going towards a great cause though.
You didn’t get a first round pick for Orton, you got a first round pick for a package. The doubters were right!
If NFL teams were allowed to trade players for picks, Orton would fetch a 2. And Denver would have a good laugh.
And the team trading a 2 for orton is still getting bent. his stats are system generated and from always playing from behind
