AKA don't believe a thing that the ****tiest media in the NFL says: - South Florida Sentinel But I thought we had zero chance according to someone who shouldn't have a job and is hopefully reading this.
Talk durrty to me baby. Keep in mind though, Agents know the best deal they can cut for their clients is prior to the lockout so there is nothing wrong with batting eyelashes at Ireland publicly..smart business.
I've gotten the sense this season that's he's become extremely passionate about playing for this team and this defense b/c these guys seem to really play as a unit..... the all for 1, 1 for all type mentality.
Straight from the horse's mouth. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...ins-paul-soliai-0223-20110222,0,3183464.story As the article points out, the 30 percent rule doesn't apply to signing bonus. So the Phins could get a deal done that way. But that's also where the most risk lies for the team.
Big Ferg coming to Miami is the best thing that ever happened to Paul Soliai, some of the best NFL audio anyone will ever hear is Big Paul crediting Ferg for the strip/JT TD in 2009, great stuff to listen in on. I also liked when Sparano was asked which one of his guys was the biggest eater, and he said "with the handcuffs off? Solia"
There is the root of the problem, like us, the team does not trust giving Soliai any big time guaranteed money.
He has been on a fairly strict diet for almost a year. Hiring Canter was the best thing for Solai. He said, he has not felt this good in years so hopefully he's trying to stick with it. I'm sure he's motivated after only touching the surface of how good he can be in the NFL
If he had as many years at NT as those guys have and was as good as they are, I imagine he would have been franchised by now. Seems like his agent enjoys flapping his lips. Teams look down upon that crapola. Can see why his agent does not have many players as clients and no actually really good ones. Teams do not like dealing with loose lipped moaning mary types.
Me likey the news...is it bad that I want MCD signed soon thereafter?..I want the double banger signing..
Why franchise him and pay him more money that Brandon Marshall is making when you can work out a contract long term that suits everyone? After he's tagged, they'd still have to negotiate a new deal or tag him again/let him walk. I honestly have no idea where you get that about his agent flapping his lips. He said he and Soliai want to get this done. The Miami Dolphins want to get this done. They're being aggressive about it. And there's just a difference at the moment keeping it from being finalized. Your response is pretty irrational based one what was said by the agent. As for scared of guaranteed money, if we cut Brandon Marshall next offseason, I believe he walks a broke man. Just because they're scared of fattening his wallets guaranteed, doesn't mean he's not good or they don't want him.
Also just re-read the article from the Sun-Sentinel and it mentions Soliai could possibly become a restricted free agent with the new CBA. I wonder if Mcdaniel is in the same situation? Because I think they let him walk with Odrick and Merling coming back it would be nice to get something back for him.
I remember when this guy took serious flack from all sides clamoring for a resolution @ NT. said he would never make in the NFL, that Solai was mistake & a bust, etc. things change
I hope they sign him to at least a 3 year deal. Then again, I also wish they could get their mitts on Kenrick Ellis. That would be one hella tandem and could keep Starks at DE. Ellis, if he stays motivated, could be the steal of the draft. I know Miami does not have a ton of draft picks but if there is one defensive player taken, Ellis would be my choice out of every defensive player in this draft. Except maybe Von Miller...
I cant believe Solai will be 28 in december...WTH, hes the same age as Crowder...I swear I thought the kid was really young when Cam drafted him....wow...thats sucks for some reason..
Told ya Soliai's agent is a putz. Here is the most recent comment from Ireland from the Combine on how the " aggressive " contract talks are going. " Nose tackle Paul Soliai, an unrestricted free agent, is probably the team’s biggest priority in terms of players they must re-sign. "Talks haven’t been too serious yet" It goes on to say there have be some talks back and forth and he does realize Soliai is needed on the Dline but nowhere near the AGGRESSIVE talks as his agent is trying to pander about. Thats from today at the combine. Just wanted to show you guys, do not believe everything your ead that spews from someones mouth just because they are an agent, or broadcaster or blogger. Its in todays Palm Beach Post.
