Not really, I give it at least one more year. If we don't win the suck for luck sweepstakes or the Barkley bonanza then I just as soon keep him at least until we find something better.
I don't know what to think of Henne just yet, personally. All quarterbacks are different and each develops at a different rate. Some two years, some three, some four and some even five. You can't hold on to a guy for a long period and hope he pans out but you also can't give up too quickly on him. I think that there has to be some progress made by the player that tells you that he could be a legitimate signal caller. Personally, I think Henne has shown some of those things which is why you have to give him another year. Next season, he has to take another step though. If he doesn't then you have to start questioning him. However, the quarterback can only go as far as the weapons around him unless he's a special player, like Peyton Manning, IMO. Henne has the weapons in the passing game but the guy who runs the ball behind him needs to get better as does the guy who he's taking snaps from.
I wouldn't base your "Best GM award" on trades.. if it were that easy, then it's just a rich getting richer scheme. Chemistry means nothing to some people, IMO.
You guys are talking about my QB...please reserve Ur opinions for the regular forums. Unless you want to make this an impolite league if so just let me know, I can throw stones all day long.
I have three 3rds. I would've drafted one anyway. No way I get a QB as good as Flynn in this draft. No brainer for me. Besides, I need to be ready in case someone who meets my requirements makes an offer to Peyton.
Unfortunately you don't get to decide what the compensation will be for Manning. By franchising him, his compensation is locked at 2 1st round picks. To the bidder goes the spoils. You may match the bid if youd like, but it will set your franchise back even further after already trading away every key player on your roster. What's the point of having Peyton Manning? I think you'll find that I've built a nice home for Peyton in Nashville. We are committed to excellence.
I really don't know how many times and how many different ways I can tell you. I'm not letting Peyton Manning go for 2 1st rounders. I really don't care about the rest of my GM League. Keeping Peyton, or getting the compensation I want is all I care about. Like I said earlier, if I have to match whatever ridiculous offer you make, it just means I get my spare time back for the next 2 months. I'm 100% OK with that. And more impotantly, so is my wife. You know what you need to do, the choice is yours.
