Hey, I just cleared another 6.9M maybe ill get in on the bidding Joking PSG, I have my own manning even if hes not quite as good he still has 1 ring
a flurry of activity tonight after a relatively slow week. Between the server being down and the rain out here on the west coast.. I'm ready to sit by the fire and have a drink.
I think it definitely benefitted both teams, you and your cap, but still getting a nice pick and a possible dominant dl, and me helping my defensive roster/scheme adjustment. Hard treading but paid off.
not everyone... it's all perception... I personally like what you did shaving the cap, I like Jennings.... and I like that third round pick. I think that's where you came out ahead. Comes down to what you think about a potential HOF taking up 12% of your cap.
If it wasn't for the potential Manning Mutiny, I probably would've kept Freeney, maybe. And if it's all a bluff, and nobody goes after Manning, well now I have lots of cap room to replace Freeney and his 10 sacks. I thought I did pretty good in the trade too. I like Jennings, probably more than most and Peyton will turn Underwood into a superstar....
agreed, on my side I feel that the position I will put hughes in maximizes his potential and I also think freeneys capabilities will fit well as will moala, much better than aluala would've at the same position. Overall I feel we both got what we needed.
and as far as that trade with Arizona... don't get me started on that one... I'm usually a big fan of what S24/7 does, but I just can't get behind him on that one. Ignore $ for a second and I think you came out ahead... put $ back in and well, it's not even close.
Its not as bad as one would think. Cromartie (and the entire Arizona secondary) was awful last year (according to pro football focus) because the front 7 couldnt get pressure. The year before Cromartie was 4th out of the top 100 CB's who played at least 25% of their teams snaps but Webster is consistently good and has a low completion % against. I hated to move Manningham who has had at least 850 the last couple of years mostly as a #3 wr. Im not complaining but I dont think it was bad at all.
For me I see DRC and Webster as pretty close in terms of ability. DRC obviously has the upside, but Webster has the track record. And I needed a WR and was looking to move Wells. I didn't get the offers on Wells I thought I would, and I'm just not a big fan of his. Manningham has had two good years in a row as a backup for most of that time. At the end of the day I'm not thrilled with the trade, but I had the cap room and I think it made my team better overall. I think it works for both teams.
yeah... I think i've pretty much named the players I'd be interested in on your squad. Draft pick wise... make an offer boy!
Hoyer's days were numbered seeing as BB had to put Brady back in during that week 17 meaningless game against the Dolphins. .... now I'm without a backup qb....and the Pats enter the Peyton Manning sweepstakes....
Delanie Walker... for those that aren't informed... is an absolute monster of a football player. 6 foot 240, converted WR who will play a TE/FB/H back role for me. Solid special teams player... Ran a 4.49 and as evidence of that speed check the video below... also it's a preseason game so Nate Kaeding decides it's not worth bringing down the freight train. "I choose not to tackle"... The same guy who went to a psychologist because he was failing at his job? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/peter_king/08/08/mmqb/1.html
I think he chose not to tackle Walker prior to this breakdown... one could even say his decision not to tackle DW and the impending ridicule from his teammates, friends and family, ultimately lead to the breakdown itself. If only he had used two hands.... to force him out of bounds... or if the 49ers kick returner for that game was Ted Ginn himself.... where obviously Ginn would have chose the out of bounds at the mere thought of being tackled by the lightest kicker in the game. It could have been a staredown of the weaklings LOL...
I don't think it's piling on. The discussion Paul and I had on Wells was that neither or us were very high on him. I tried to field offers on him, but after a few people early on expressing interest I never really got what I was looking for in return. Boik gave me a good young WR with upside. That's why I made the trade.
I liked wells upside and we are building a good ol in New York. While his durability is a concern I'm looking to pair him with a quicker shiftier back. Hated to move manningham but I liked drc and wells enough to do it
The upside is definitely there. What worried me is he doesn't run as powerfully as someone his size should between the tackles. If his main focus were to lose some weight and become the type of back you're talking about, it could actually be a really good role for him.
He has the weakest ankles of any big back I've ever seen. I've always felt a gust of wind could blow him down.
Not a coincidence he plays for a dome team. But he’s definitely a paradoxical player. You wouldn’t think he’s fragile just by looking at him, but…
We're gonna get him in that weight room on the Parcells regiment. 1 LB overweight and youre getting benched or IR'ed for the year fella
Wells kinda reminds me of Sammie Smith... the FSU version of Sammie Smith. Most of you youngens won't remember him then.
I am quite pleased with how my pre-FA period is going. There may even be a press conference to highlight some of these moves.
Hillis behind Pouncy and Long? With Louisaka Polite leading the way??....Im trading Bess and Marshall putting Fasano and my new TE out wide and running the GD ball every time and their is nothing ppl can do about it!
I'm fairly certain there's going to be a new gm grand champion this year...or whatever the award is called
