Interesting deal by Seattle and Minnesota...looks like both teams filled a few needs. Vikes got younger and cheaper, Seattle fills some pressing needs. Nice job by both. To be fair in reference to Paul's trade, Paul's an excellent GM and one of my favorite posters to read...I just think that trade was fail. Just IMO. Sorry if that comes off wrong in any way as wrong Paul; even though we disagree frequently in trade negotiations we are a lot alike in how we operate as GM's which is what i think causes disagreement.
Not that intense of a negotiation. It was more so you knew it wasnt personal as I know the criticism was a little harsh...
He signed an extension before the roster freeze; I forgot to take him off the free agent list... my bad about that.
Like Decoud. Not sure i would have done VD for Pouncey and the higher pick swap. Not saying it isnt a fair trade. It pretty much is. Just corner harder to fill than center.
Not if you factor in the FA class imo...sucked giving up my fav player but interior ol is a huge weakness...but not anymore.
i can remember when i was the texans gm and i acquired Timmons for a mid round draft pick. Kinda reminds me of Jared Cook in a way. A player unproven, with loads of potential, not worth his original draft pick selection. Not much risk, high reward...
Last year Timmons had 135 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 9 pass deflections, 2 interceptions. I would say he is proven now. This coming year I expect him to hold down the MLB position in either a 3-4 or 4-3, which ever one I decide to run and should dominate. He is young and can get even better because his physical abilities are off the charts. But overall I think it was a good trade for both teams.
The only 2 front seven players I have know that I plan on starting when the season starts in Trent Cole and Timmons. Cole could easily play the rush OLB position in a 3-4. It really depends on the other front seven players I get.
