Guidelines are simple. I am going to put up two threads. One is for Henne, the other is against Henne. This is not for debate, just to have one thread for, and the other against.

Then, everyone can read both and decide if their opinion has changed.

It will also show a popular vote, one way or the other. Please, stay on one side or the other.

I can see this is starting out very well. One poster is asleep, another is claiming over-statement of the obvious, and a third claiming it's too many threads to read.

Oh well, I thought it may be some fun but, what the hell do I know?

I'm sure that all three posters have much better idea's to talk about off season.

I look forward to posting on their threads.

My bad, South...I was going to post something fun and interesting, but my narcolepsy kicked in, and when my head hit the keyboard, my previous post came out.

Either that, or ANOTHER Henne thread, combined with a court setting, put me to sleep.

No...I didnt get a Hint by "For Henne"...That could of meant anything to do with him. Hes still part of the Dolphins, so I would like to know whatever about him. But there was probably 5 threads on the main page debating Henne as a NFL QB...

When QB's are piss poorly managed they tend to be less than impressive. Give the guy a little bit of teaching and try and build his confidence instead of blaming him for all your problems and you just might be surprised at the result.
Yes I am talking to you Henning and Lee.
And to you Sparano you don't get a pass..... you god damn enabler.

Agreed, there are way too many, and I have no interest in picking on you. However, you are still posting on all of them. They go away with lack of interest.

I put this up for everyone to take a stand, one way or the other. Ignoring, if ya got a problem is very easy, without *****ing and moaning about them. JMHO

According to PFF, Henne was rated the #17 QB in the NFL in 2010. #16 was Cutler, #18 was Cassell, #19 was Bradford, #21 was Orten, and #23 was Sanchez.

In 2009, he was also rated at #17. #15 was Romo, #16 was Ryan, #18 was V Young, #20 was Cutler, #21 was Orten, #24 was Cassell, and #27 was Sanchez.

This puts Henne in the middle of the pack after being a starter for less than two full seasons, and in some pretty fair QB company over the past two years.

PFF is a very well respected player grading company, and thei opinion should carry some weight in this debate. JMO

    Killer,

Here's the deal, and why I started this "trial." The positive guys are gonna be the same, armed with stats, facts, and valid opinions.

The negative guys are gonna fall by the wayside IF they have no one to pick on, and only have to post among themselves. This is why I split the threads.

    Watch in amazement. :)

Have to play the hand your dealt & make the best of it.
The most positive thing I can say about Henne
is that he's still here. So, lets wish him well
and hope for the best possible end to things.

said this in a previous post...
Henne could conceivably contribute in a myriad of ways:
    1) could compete & win the start
    2) could be the starter while we break in a rookie QB
    3) could serve the team as a back-up
    4) could be traded, helping the team gain advantage in the draft or free-agency
what Chad Henne can't be, nor should he be, is ignored

in one way or the other he should contribute to the development of the team.

I for one think that Henne has been criminally mismanaged by the coaching staff. IMO the biggest factor playing into Henne's development is the way in which the coaching staff has belittled him throughout the year and how they put the handcuffs on him while he is on the field. No QB will ever be successful in this league if their staff tells them to play it safe and don't throw INTs. Then when that player becomes "captain checkdown," what does the coaching staff do? They throw Henne under the bus and say that he is unwilling to make certain throws.

Lets take a look at some of the QBs in the league. Ryan, Flacco, Sanchez, Rodgers, Big Ben have all been supported by their coaching staff even when things have been tough. Sanchez was horrible the previous year and the Jets stood by him and said he was their guy. Big Ben went through his suspension and the Steelers stood by him. Rodgers sat behind Farve quietly and the team dumped Farve and stood by Rodgers. Flacco and Ryan were both thrusted into the starting role and both their organizations backed them from their very first game and on.

I am sure there are more examples that I could include in this post but I think I have made my point. Show Henne some support and he could have possibly been a completely different QB at this point in his career. It is not too late for Henne, but this year will be critical in his development. If he doesn't get any support and the handcuffs don't come off then unfortunately he will have never had a chance to be successful.

As much as he pissed me off with the silly int's, it's things like this that screams give him another chance. Getting him another weapon can't hurt either.

We must also face some facts here. This draft is not full of Great Qb's. Lots of prospects but with the team having other areas in need of filling, you almost have to conceed to getting the other areas fixed first and hope for some more growth from Henne

    Friend Ozzy:
exactly my thoughts & would add the worse thing that could happen @ this point in team development would be to squander resources
in my heart I do not believe this guy is the ultimate answer to our QB quandary, however, in one way or the other he should be exploited to that end

this is my last post on Chad Henne, may he be of some use in 2011

Ummm...Chad Henne was the 26th rated QB in 2010. And 22nd in 2009.

Yeah, not to mention the development of a QB who has a beatup offensive line, 3 UDFA receivers, no run game, and 1 TE thats ever played before. I'd say Henne has progressed fine with all that he has had to deal with. He still holds as much potential as any young QB in the league. imo

Well since I've pointed out his flaws, I better be able to point out his strengths:

-Tough, dude was supposed to be out for the yr with a dislocated knee cap, he was back playing within 3 games
-Accurate on the short and intermediate stuff, that is his bread and butter
-improving, recall in 09 he couldn't throw a touchpass to save his life, in 10 he was doing a good job on them
-quietly productive, for all of the anti Henne sentiment, he had the best yr for a young Qb since Scott Mitchell stepped in for Marino in the early 90's
-nice composure for a young Qb, last yr was a rough season for a young Qb and he did not crack under the pressure.

For all of the talk about Sanchez, let's see him go through what Henne has been through, when things are not all sunshine and 17yr olds it is gut check time.
