from an article that I dont feel is getting the attention it deserves..

“Really, this week is the first chance that NFL teams have to talk to you as a player,” Greg Dalton, Andy’s father, said. “He met with the Miami Dolphins coach and general manager and Bill Parcells, Pete Carroll and the Seattle staff, and Jason Garrett of the Cowboys. Parcells has developed a criteria for drafting quarterbacks. The height was fine, and he has to put on a few pounds....

Does anyone find this interesting?...I do because iam one of the few that have been talkin this kid up..seems like our regime, including Parcells, has some interest as well, or just a smoke screen..WTH is that all about anyway, Parcells was at the senior bowl??..Anyhow, Ive been trying to get some discussion about this player that I like very much with no avail...

He's quick, he has escapability talent, and that QB athleticism that I covet, can run the football when plays break down, has real good mechanics and footwork, no hitches in the swing, excellent leader, improved on his game all 4 years, throws accurate footballs, and basically turned a small time college program into a powerhouse during his tenure..Some of that prestige has got to go to the QB position..I mean that team lost a lot of talent last year, and they still got better...Does anyone see some comparisons to a young Phil Simms?...He comes from the spread I know, but hes polished, and has a lot of qualities I like..

Hes in my top 5, and has been...what say you?

Talk about what, Parcells being there? He’s still under contract, I’d be surprised if he wasn’t there.

That said, Ireland has zero obligation to listen to whatever Parcells might say.

well shoot, we'll talk about a QB that we probably have no chance at for 300 pages, but not for one that is more of a real possibility. You Like AD Des?..

also, do you think its wrong of me to want to punch Bill Parcells in the face for how things have transpired or, am I completely off base?..Is this how a vp of operations for a professional franchise should of operated and exited?

Yeah, I think Dalton is a potentially good QB. But only good, not great. I can’t imagine “Andy Dalton, Pro Bowler” or “Andy Dalton, Super Bowl champion”. He also feels like a middle 2nd round pick to me, and of course we have no 2nd round pick to spend on a QB… for once.

Basically, I’m not sure if drafting Dalton somehow would be the change the franchise needs, or if it would just be another ho-hum play-it-safe don’t-invest-too-much move.

I think you’re letting him off lightly with just a single punch.

hes so compact and precise with how he plays, I just really like that about him, his movement and his accuracy seems to be fluid, quick and on point in everything he does..Like the way he conducts himself, good demeanor..

about that 2nd round pick....who would you trade to get it back? or do you think the only real possibility is a trade down scenario?

Can’t trade players until there’s a new CBA. So it would have to involve trading down from #15.

The guy just isn't that good IMO. I don't get why people like him so much but I may be wrong. We're talking about a guy who is inaccurate outside the numbers and deep, a guy who has melted mentally, and whose offense was more than 50% bubble screens & snag concept. I may be wrong but that doesn't seem like a recipe for success. Not in this league IMO.

    the next dimension
Parcells could've been there scouting for the 49ers and the Jets too, so who knows.

I'm in the 'if he continues to develop he may eventually be good but not great' camp. I don't see it as likely that he'll be better than Henne as a pro.
