Hmm, wonder how close the relationship is between Bengals.com and Mike Brown?

As for Williamson, he is off base on that analysis, I've watched Palmer several times this past season, what did him in his forcing the ball into TO, once TO went down his numbers quickly improved.

Is Palmer worth a #1 pick?

Hmm, not the #15, if we managed a trade back and picked up a #2 or high #3, then it could work.

Sounds like a first round pick is a ceiling, not a floor.

That said, Palmer isn’t worth a first round pick. He might be worth a 2nd, except we don’t have one to trade.

Tricky move Des, even if a team liked Palmer the Cap will be a reality, if he had gotten the tommy john surgery then sure, without it I'd look at a 4th rd pick for him.

Jets are on the hook for 14.25 millie for the Nacho in 2011 so Palmer's number is not so bad..the downside is with a rookie salary cap upcoming the financial benefit of trading a #1 pick is not as large as it once was.

There won’t be a rookie salary scale for 2011. One currently doesn’t exist, and you can’t do business thinking about what might happen. Hell, there might never be a salary cap again, or there might not be football in 2011 and beyond.

Besides, once you get out of the top 3-5 picks, first round salaries aren’t bad at all. It’s those top picks that kill teams if they don’t pan out.

There will be a Rook Cap this yr, why wouldn't there be one? Both sides look at Rook salaries as a place they can create additional dollars for themselves.
