needn't spend too much time in speculation we'll know by this time next year what kind of choice the OC was & what our offense looks like all we can do is hope we get lucky of course, there will always be the excuse squad should Daboll come up short then we can add his name to the infamous pantheon of the incompetent who are "on-becoming" & just need a little love & patience how long must we endure the mediocrity & inefficacy? how much longer do we make excuses & justify losing? SuperBowl anybody? How'd you like to be a Jet fan about now? would you take FatRex over StupidTony? next up: the Orlando Dolphins? hope not but you just really never know what tomorrow brings, especially when you can't figure out how to win maybe the powers to be will come to the conclusion a new venue is in order, a complete new start. Remember the Baltimore Colts? It happens.ultimately, money dictates. it is a business. nothing would surprise me @ this point this banter is in large part spawned from frustration, possibly an over reaction to the unending disappointment of the post Shula era having said that Can't make chicken soup out of chicken droppings. Garbage in/Garbage out. Things change? We shall see.
it is what it is & nothing more. I can only hope for the best possible result emerging from an obviously compromised situation. We crossed the Rubicon when Sparano was brought back as head coach. there is no turning back, this is how we will play the 2011 season
I agree with everything with the exeption of 'How would you like to be a Jets fan".Even if they win the next couple of superbowls I wouldn't wish that on me.
There is a tremendous amount of pressure on Sparano and Irish, they have to be smart and talented enough to overcome the pressure, we'll see how they respond, that's as far as I can look at it at this point...If they don't, we'll go from there..
Friend djphinfan: I see no pressure on Ireland, his position as GM was never in question as far as I can surmise. However, I agree that Sparano is under the gun having been de facto fired, then reinstated due to circumstance. My concern is that Sparano isn't the sharpest tool in the shed & has already proven himself inept as Head Coach. The team has no confidence in Sparano's ability to move us forward & routinely (openly) criticizes his competence to do so. In so many words, not much for Dolphin fans to look forward to in 2011 & that is just not fair to the fan base or franchise. The hiring of Daboll is just one more question mark on his personal judgment & ability to get the job done right. Sparano is a lame duck head coach, a parcelian experiment gone bad, biding his time until he is replaced. None of this bodes well for the Dolphins.
Imho, this is the best team the Dolphins have fielded, top to bottom, in 9 years. Sparano has the best coaching record since the 2001-2003 seasons. Garbage in, garbage out and it is what it is not withstanding; I’m happy with the direction this team is moving.
Friend smahtaz: where do you get this stuff? 1) "Imho, this is the best team the Dolphins have fielded, top to bottom, in 9 years." answer: it would not be saying much, if it were a fact & not personal opinion. the statement says nothing as it stands, it is totally meaningless 2) "Sparano has the best coaching record since the 2001-2003 seasons." answer: Pennington, Pennington & Pennington! Sparano's winning was all about Pennington, the player/coach running the team. take away Pennington & recalculate your numbers. don't look so good does it? Sparano is simply not head coach material. he's a nice guy but just not the sharpest tool in the shed & he's lost the respect of his team. he is as impotent as he is incompetent in the coaching arena. 3) "Garbage in, garbage out and it is what it is not withstanding; I’m happy with the direction this team is moving." answer: you're correct. garbage in/garbage out & I'm pleased you're happy with the direction of the garbage truck is going. doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the destination of garbage trucks, but I'll help you out with this one. the garbage truck is not going to the SuperBowl. think about it. spin it as you will, nothing changes, only the way you choose to talk about it. what we have is more of the same for 2011. it is what it is, nothing more & its ugly. Garbage in/Garbage out. Things change? I sincerely doubt it. The Facts: Head coaching record Team Year Regular Season Post Season Won Lost Ties Win % Finish Won Lost Win % Result MIA 2008 11 5 0 .688 1st in AFC East 0 1 .000 Lost to Baltimore Ravens in AFC Wild-Card Game. MIA 2009 7 9 0 .438 3rd in AFC East - - - - MIA 2010 7 9 0 .438 3rd in AFC East - - - - Total[10] 25 23 0 .521 0 1 .000 Pennington is responsible for our only winning season
Where are we going? I think the majority of us are waiting to see which way you are going, so we can go the opposite way.
I gotta give'em one more year, I believe what Sparano had to deal with, with the QB, the coordinator, the departure, the way he has accepted this tremendous challenge while showing leadership in the process, imo, he deserves a clean slate for the year...I will give the man his space for one year to show that he has the skillset to move us in an ascending direction... There is somethin inside of me that believes that Sparano can win over the team... I think if we go with Pennington and secure another young QB, Iam on board with that plan.
Like I stated, just my opinion. It's never anything personal. You say Pennington X3, I say AFC East Champ for the 1st time since 2001. You always seemed like the bottom line sort. 25 wins in the past 3 seasons may not be up to your standards but it's easily the best we've seen in a decade. This team needs a QB that doesn't make more mistakes than plays. That's it.
FellowPoster Samphin: 1) doubt that my inclinations or opinions carry that much weight with the forum. you flatter me! 2) didn't realize you had become so important within the brotherhood. you now speak for (we) the collective intelligence & voice of the forum. I'm very impressed with your stature amongst our peers. somehow I find your attitude/comments hubris. how about stepping from behind your imaginary majority? speak your opinion clearly & without need of invention this kind of post makes you appear shallow & insecure. you can do better & deserve better. man-up & express yourself
Friend Killerphins: you're absolutely right, calling fellow posters out is not my style on a bad day my tolerance for that which is rude & uncalled for is considerably diminished. respect & be respected is the right way to go. however there are times when mean-spirited posting has to be called on its own merit & responsibility. everyone has a right to self-defense what you will never see from me is an unsolicited or unprovoked personal response to a fellow poster. only a good friend would be concerned & I appreciate the alter ego I do not abide by rudeness in a man & dislike cyber-bullies intently Thank you for taking the time to point out a potentially bad direction
Friend 23rd, I believe Tony is fine to retain for one more season as the last excuse (Henning) has been stripped away. That said, it's time to poop or get off the pot. 10 wins, nothing less next season. And by the way, seeing Ross get embarrassed for the underhanded way he went about things is karma. I'm glad Tony was financially compensated for such public humiliation. As for your point about FatRex, I hope he chokes on a kielbasa.
where are we going? unfortunately, the onus of the season, as always, falls squarely on the shoulders & hearts of the fanbase everyone concerned will be fairly compensated & move on, leaving us with another broken year & promise I find everyone from the owner & front office, coaches & players with few exceptions mercenary opportunist the heart & soul of the franchise resides in the love, devotion & economic support of fans who have nothing but love of team, brotherhood & sport to compensate their loyalty & uncompromising support of the franchise they are paid to be dolphins, we elect to be dolphins. they won't lose a year, but we will lose a season. had a good buddy that fell in love with a Korean whore. the ***** didn't even speak English & gave him the clap twice. to this day he swears he loved her. go figure. they say love is blind, that it resides in the eye of the beholder prostitutes & mercenaries have a lot in common in sundry & twisted ways so much for my rambling on about the NFL, Korean whores & mercenaries we need a front office & ownership that are committed to the fanbase for them its money, for us its about winning. 2011 is a slap in our collective face. an unresponsive, elitist, losing franchise is destine to ultimately fail when they finally exhaust their fan base, they simply move on to more fertile grounds of exploitation
23rd, you spend too much time on font selection and colors, and not enough time constructing coherent points. I’ve read everything you’ve posted in this thread and still have no idea what you’re talking about. Orlando Dolphins? Korean hookers? Garbage trucks? Comic Sans? I don’t mean to be offensive when I say this, but your posts are indecipherable.
Friend Desides: you're right. I know this running stream-of-consciousness thread, punctuated with open-structure, varied font & color can be maddening. basically, I guess I'm just mad. I'm angry & disappointed with the short comings of the franchise @ all levels & see more of the same for 2011. I probably need a vacation from the forum & all that is Dolphin for a while. really wouldn't want you to catch what I've got. best wishes. post often, post well. I need to get past this SuperBowl before I'm fit to post, maybe the draft & free agency too. I need a break.
Its really sad that this is what this once proud franchise has become.A fan happy about being 7-9 two years in a row and boasting about the best coaching record in 9 years.
I feel like I did when I took my SAT's in 11 grade, midway through I just filled in "abbacadabra" down the rest of the bubble answer sheet and walked out.... I, I got nothing...
6,000 posts and the only thing you have contributed is successfully posted in every color that is in a Skittles bag. Fitting since your seizure inducing posts remind me of a diabetic going into a sugar fit. And since you asked me to express myself, you clearly haven't been reading the room, since pretty much everyone on this site wishes you would just....cease to exist. IF only Charlie had gotten one more...but I digress. Nonetheless, I feel as is we are connected. You are the ball of yarn that this cat plays with. The KY jelly to my peanut butter. The peanut in my turd. I will grant you this, your posts are infintely funnier than anything on television. Too bad it isn't intentional on your end. As for speaking for the silent majority, if you ever get the stones to pop your multicolored bubble that you have been living in and find your way to "the other site," I think you will find that my opinion pretty much is par for the course. Now go find the right shade of periwinkle to respond with.
there you go again... don't even have to read your post to know its more of the same: garbage in/garbage out (This message is hidden because Samphin is on your ignore list) meu menino vaca: Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει a block of wood? "Άνθρωπος αγράμματος, ξύλο απελέκητο." there are reasons for everything my Greek friend
respect begets respect post well, post often & be nice remember, you reap what you sow garbage in, garbage out in all things
Friend finyank13: had problems with the SAT's ? well, that goes a long way to explaining everything it is what it is. have a nice day.
good night ladies... see you sometime after the SuperBowl may the road rise up to meet you & the wind always be @ your back and our Miami Dolphins find there way in the up-coming season
