Brady nor Montana had HoF WR's. I've already said that Montana benefitted greatly from his coaches/defense etc etc. For the early 1980's Montana's numbers were great. That's the point, did you miss it somewhere? Brady's first three seasons and Montana's first three seasons are very similar. Except for the fact that Brady's first three seasons were during a time when you can't breath on a QB and Montana's was when QB's were getting murdered.
2 + 2 = 4 if Montana is an all-time great, then Brady is an all-time great. Thanks for closing the argument for me
And in case you want to see what happens to a QB when they are under constant pressure, find a copy of the Giants vs 49ers 1st round playoff game in the 1986 season. Montana got the snot knocked out of him. He was 8/15 for 98 yards and 2 INT's before Jim Burt ended his day. That's not to say Joe Cool wasn't great, but you put any QB under constant pressure and they are going to have a hard time - not just Brady.
one of my favorite all time games since G-men are the only other team I root for. unbelievable hit by Burt.
Great point. Even Montana was mostly unsuccessful against a Bill Belicheat defense. I think he was 0-3 against them in the playoffs. Brady has the luxury of having a BB ran defense on his team. Good thing for him too or else he wouldn't be a 3 time SB winner. Also, when I say "pressure" I'm not takling about getting your head ripped from your body, as did Montana in the game you're talking about. Brady freaks out when anyone gets around him. It's plain to see if you take off the media induced Brady-crush glasses.
Once again, Brady is a HoF QB. He's smart, works hard and has that attitude you want in your QB. However, he is just not on the level of Unitas, Marino, Montana, Elway, or Graham (to name a few) when it comes to physical abilities and calmness under pressure. It doesn't mean that Brady "sucks" (as some of you have wrongly accused me of saying).
Well your opinion of one keeps you happy which is important, even though your own posts contradict your weak *** argument. It's like arguing with s Jehovah's witness
I keep giving tangible proof and stats and you keep giving insults and Super Bowl wins. My words have meaning and your words are meaningless. Whatever floats your boat. If you want to parrot the media be my guest. You love Brady and think he's an all time great QB, but when Brady is retired and a few years later the media hype dies down like it did with Bradshaw, Aikmen, Griese etc, you can remember I was right.
Dude, you're like the Black Knight in Monty Python & The Holy Grail. Your arguments were met with statistics that took your stance apart, yet you still stand there insisting "it's only a flesh wound." Every time someone contradicts one of your points, you spin it in a different direction. Then you tell them how smart you are and how insignificant they are. In comparing Brady to Montana, first you brought up his first few years. When pointed out that they were equal, you then switched to "the game was different then" and "Montana was better under pressure". Then when it was pointed out differently, you respond with "well Montana faced a BB defense, Brady had it on his side." You're hilarious. I think it's more of a case of whatever floats your boat.
Shouldn't you be posting half naked chicks in the "Ladies forum". <------------------- Ad hominem tactic...
Haven't done that in a long time. You're not in the trenches here soldier. The smokescreen doesn't work. I know it's hard for you Marines to admit defeat, and that's admirable, but telling everyone how smart you are or insinuating they don't understand your spins really doesn't fool too many people. But do go on...it does prove amusing.
Well you need to start posting new chicks! lol Thre are no smokescreens. There is no spinning. I'm not a soldier, as you said so yourself, I'm a Marine and this is a full on frontal attack. I will admit defeat if/when I'm defeated. I have no problems admitting to being wrong or losing. So far, however, the only thing the Brady-lovers have shown is that Brady has played for some great teams (Super Bowl wins) and Super Bowl wins alone do not equal greatness.
Well, you clearly lost this one Marine, but it was a lively debate. Even so a very interesting topic to debate, well done, so no hard feelings
Clearly? You can't see the forest through the trees! I have lost nothing. However, I do enjoy debating civily!
