I guess we'll see, right now Perk is still hurt. But if he comes back and can help during the playoffs and Delonte returns as well, the Celts are going to be tough to match up against. For anyone.

    Pretty much this.

It’s not that the Blazers did a whole lot wrong. It’s that the Heat did so much right.

Only the most delusional of Heat homers can make a case that their bench is as good as Celtics'. Even if they got a case, or at least have one. There's no myth, the Celtics' bench is the logical choice between the benches of Heat and Celtics. The Celtics is more of a squad than the Heat.

If you drafted from the two benches, the top 4 picks would be:

    1. Mike miller
    2. Udonis haslem
    3. Glen davis
    4. James jones

Every gm in the league would agree with me, including danny ainge.

    Your post is/was lol absurd.

so in a 9 man rotation, 3 of 4 would be heatles. Not to mention all the other contributors on the heat.

That post could not be more absurd.

Haslem over Glen Davis in a Draft!??!?! NO WAY!!! Baby is SIX YEARS YOUNGER. STOP THE INSANITY. And no one would ever draft James Jones over Nate Robinson. Come on!! Silly argument. Your true argument is that Miller is essential for the Heat because someone has to guard him at all times due to his shooting prowess. Haslem is a banger and fits nicely with this crew. Jones can shoot but he is streaky and is basically a poor man's version of Miller. But Nate Robinson would be starting for your team and he is not the selfish guy he was with NY. Baby Davis is just coming into his own and will likely win 6th man of the year. Now if you're only drafting for ONE YEAR...then Shaq goes ahead of James Jones as well. Section, you know your hoops, but I respectfully disagree with you here.

    We disagree.

Haslem was the starting power forward for a championship team. He is still a double double guy OFF the bench. That is big. Glen Davis as good as he has been this year, is not having a better year than Haslem had last year. Haslem has 20 and 10 games off the bench. Haslem is just the better player overall. better defender, shooter, rebounder. Glen Davis has him in the post.

James Jones is among the league leaders in Charges taken and 3 point shooting.

As for Nate...I am known as a Nate fan although his basketball IQ is terrible...but here are the facts...start for the Heat?

Nate is shooting 43% from the field and 36% from 3 averaging 1.4 TO's a game on 20 MPG.

Arroyo is shooting 47% from the field and 47% from 3 averaging 0.9 TO's a game on 23 MPG.

    You make the call.

I'd take Haslem over Baby Auburn, and I like the drewling, twitching big baby, simply because Udonis will take and make game winning shots, Baby is a good backup but the point of a Bench is to contribute so age is not really a factor.

Sadly this thread has turned into what the previous one had turned into..

If age is not a factor then how do you take James Jones over Shaq? Inconsistent.

#1) Big Baby is improving and healthy, Haslem is declining and injured. No GM in his right mind would take Haslem now or in the near future. Baby also has a ring and is a 6th man of the year candidate.
#2) Nate's job is to score with the 2nd unit, not take open shots with Bron, DWade and Bosh. So he'll miss more and have more TOs. In the 10 games he started due to Rondo's hammy, he averaged 14.1 PPG, 4.5 APG, 1.3 TO PG. I'll take that all day!!! And he chipped in with 3.4 RPG.

    JUST SAYING

If size and position are not factored in then Nate Robinson is right behind Mike Miller.

Haslem is hardly declining. and if you are getting a exemption for Perkins, then I get one for Haslem. So you can;t say he is "injured" and then claim Perkins as a starter and put SHAQ as a bench player for this discussion.

Everything Glen Davis has...Udonis Haslem already has. He has a ring (as a starter), and was a 6th man award candidate last year. As for "no GM". Well, based on age...of course not...for one season (which is out discussion) of course they would. Haslem is just more versatile. Davis cannot defend any of the long Power Forwards in the league.

So says the Knick fan whose fanbase ran Nate Robinson out of town.

and size and position are important...the discussion is about "drafting " a bench from both teams.

Different roles, Miller is meant to be a sharpshooter, Robison is a spark player who can score in bunches and play PG, on the heat he really would have no role.

Another Miami Heat first. With Lebron scoring 44 and Wade 34, they are the first tandem to ever go 40-30 in the same game. :D

    I like saying "Knicks fan"

Just funny that your fan base hated Nate and now...he's all good.

I am a Heat homer as you are a Knicks homer...but when I talk basketball, I am being objective. Check my record on bets last year, and check out my predictions each year. If the Heat sucked, I would tell you that they suck. They just happen to be 30-9 and making an attempt at breaking the all-time road winning streak record held by the Chamberlain, Baylor, West, Riley, Lakers of 71'. So there is plenty to LIKE about them.

I have said that Boston can beat them in the ECF's. I have said that the Lakers would still present problems if healthy in the finals....I am objective.

Baby would be first, he is 24 and improving. Perk is due back by month end, Haslem is due back in April and he is 30, no way he is not declining and certainly he is not improving. Perk is also only 26, faster recovery time and athleticism was never his strong suit. In a true bench draft it would be:

    Baby
    Miller
    Nate
    Shaq
    Haslem (if healthy)

Put down the four leaf clover and stop waving your Cornbread Maxwell blowup doll around.

Nate. Nate. ****ing Nate. If he wore any other uniform, he would not be thought of like this. 800 year old SHAQ eating hoagies on the bench.

I love how you put Haslem "if healthy". Like when is SHAQ "healthy".

    again...****ing Nate Robinson. jeeez.

Shaq is playing and Haslem is out til April. Whats the matter Section 8? Someone challenges you and you get all bitter? You underestimate Nate and Baby, but this bench was a Perk injury and 4 pts away from a championship last yr. Shaq will get you 10 pts and 7 boards in 20 min. Not awful and he'll draw fouls, while he won't make the free throws, he puts the opposition into the penalty quicker and KG, Pierce, Baby and Allen are all very good FT shooter. Rondo...not so much, which is why getting West back is so key or Nate can drain them as well. I gave you FACTS of Nate starting, his numbers were very good, granted he is playing with HOFers but still. Don't hate the facts....

Look I have no issue with the Heat and have actually changed my mind on Bron (like he cares) thanks to another poster here, actually. I'd rather have the Heat win 10 rings than the Lakers get any more.

Nate has the best chance out of all those guys to come in and score 10 points in a quarter, and he brings life to the floor.

Eddie House can go off just like that and Spoelstra has him buried on the Heat bench.

On the Heat it is hard to have anybody score 10 points in a quarter unless your name is James, Wade or Bosh.

Possibly but the key there is being able to guard DH one on one and the Cs can throw 18 fouls at him. Plus Arenas and JR are not defensive wizards, neither is Hedo. I am more worried about the Bulls.
