I never thought LBJ was being a d--k for leaving Cleveland or for going to any team and I said that when I thought there was no chance he was coming to Miami. But then again I've never been prone to acting like a spurned girlfriend. In fact, before that when it looked like Wade might be going to Chicago, I posted that I would understand and that I was thankful for his time in Miami. I guess I just understand the difference between being disappointed that my team didn't get a player an believing that the player did something wrong. And for the record I was never a big LBJ fan. He just never seemed to have that ability to take over a game unless his jump shot was working, at least not compared to a Wade or Colby. I've come to appreciate how many other things he does, but he'll never be as explosive with that first step as Wade is. All I'm hoping now is that the "hate" will continue long enough to feed that first championship. And yes, I believe the word "hate" is appropriate unless you want to use the "jealousy" or whatever the term for how a spurned girlfriend acts is.

You people are hilarious. People who don't even like basketball think Lebron's a jackass....

You folks are in such denial.

Says you. he still has all of his endorsements and getting more. So you are wrong.

There is no reason to think he is a jackass unless you are a Cavs fan, and even then...get over it already.

It's not just his shady way of leaving, its all the ridicilous things he has said and done since that also cements his rep as a jackass.

It's not football but compared to baseball, basketball is the fricken Olympics.

The Heat play really exciting basketball I've only missed 4 games all year. :) It's definitely good times.

Go MIAMI. Get MIAMI more championships.

    Shady way? what?

    contract ran out.

So if leaving after a contract runs out is shady...

then what Melo is doing deserves the electric chair. but not a peep from you, because he might end up on your team. Of course, when he goes to New Jersey, you will hate on him as well.

Melo was not born and raised in Denver though!! LeBorn is a high school star from the Cleveland area. He basically ran that team when he was there. Ownership would stay late at certain cities so he could go out afterward and attain players he asked for to appease him. He was more than just a great player, HE WAS CLEVELAND'S IDENTITY. He can of course leave if he chooses but must he do an ESPN show and then state "I will be taking my talents to Miami". Would it not have been better to give a courtesy call to Gilbert and let him know that it was a tough decision but he chose to leave? He embarrassed that franchise and city on National TV. I have ZERO ties to Cleveland but even I felt sorry for the city and its people.

LeBron is from Akron, not Cleveland. This is like saying that someone born in Naples should feel right at home in Miami. Totally different areas.

Also, if news reports are to be taken truthfully, people in Akron resent the way Clevelanders had taken possession of LeBron as if he’s their hometown hero. He’s not from Cleveland.

    No. Losing is Cleveland’s identity.

The way the city has conducted itself over the last 7 months, absolutely.

As opposed to all the bandwagon Bulls fans in the ‘90s? How about all the bandwagon Patriots and Colts fans this decade?

Yep, that was excellent. I think more people dislike the Patriots than root for them. Cannot comment on the Colts. But both Patriots and Colts (Brady + Manning) have won. LeBron has not, I'll give you Flash. The Celtics are old but in the playoffs the Heat will have to beat them...good luck with that. Celtics are the deepest team in the NBA when 100% healthy.

I dunno. You look at how well Miami has played without Haslem or Mike Miller. Spo played 11 guys last night in a tight game with nobody in foul trouble (including Miller, who was lowest with 8:44).

Both should be in shape for the playoffs. I think we're right up there with anyone depth-wise. Will be interesting to see how it all bares out if both teams are full strength.

Trust me, they do enough talking. At least the ones I'm friends with. All I say is, "we'll see".

They're much quieter now that Miami is gelling and it's tied up though.

I respect the heck out of the Celtics. But admittedly I feel better about our chances considering how close the previous meetings ended up when we were still running around discombobulated.

I think Miami will have a tough time rebounding with the Celtics front line of Shaq, Jermaine and Perkins, who is due back in a month. Granted he will not be like the old Perk, but he can still take up space and rebound and block shots, which is what he always did. At guard you have Ray Allen, Rondo, Delonte West and Nate Robinson, thats pretty good. At forward, you have Pierce, KG, Baby Davis and Daniels. That is a deep team. And an experienced playoff team. I actually would love to root for the Heat, but I just cannot stand LeBron after what he pulled. Maybe I should get over it?

I think that the Celtics will be the Heat's toughest match-up. They have a great PG and a big front line.

While I was never a big Lebron fan, IMO the "what he did" has been way overblown. He clearly didn't do anything wrong besides being insensitive to Cleveland fans feelings. And even that could arguably have been for charitable purposes. I know that if I were Lebron and somebody offered me the option of paying millions of my own money to my favorite charity or doing a show that would raise money and attention for that same charity, the show would be a far more attractive option. His critics want to pretend that the only possible reason for the decision show was being an ego maniac, but that simply isn't the only possible reason. Its just the reason that some choose to believe. IMO if his ego was really his #1 priority then he would have stayed in Cleveland where he would always be the main guy and the favorite son or he would have gone to NY for the big stage. I don't see how Miami would be the choice for an ego maniac b/c he would be sharing the stage with another superstar and you'd be making less money to boot. Miami only makes sense if your top priority is championships and you believe that gives you the best chance to get championships. I guess I don't have a problem with that being a player's priority. So yeah, IMO you should get over it, but that's just my opinion.

    sigh.

    the MYTH goes on.

The Miami Heat is #4 in the NBA in rebounding.

The Boston Celtics are #12 in rebounding.

The "depth" myth is another one.

Delonte West is mediocre. Marquis Daniels sucks. Nate Robinson is out of control. Jermaine Oneal is a corpse. The only reliable guy off the bench is a Fat 6'-7" power forward.

The Celtics are fueled by their starting five. Not their bench.

The Heat has a better bench. When you have Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem as the top two subs for the playoffs, then you still have a guy that is making a habit of shutting down bigs like The Warden, while not even mentioning that the 6th man currently is in the top 3 in 3 pt. shooting, while also taking 21 charges, and then you move onto a guy like Chalmers that can flat out defend and hit dagger 3's...it is no contest.

You want a team with REAL depth..that is San Antonio...the Lakers even...the Magic are very deep on the wings and back court...

Celts are 12th but Perkins has not been there and Shaq plays what 15 min. per night. You do realize that playoff hoops is much different than regular season right? Nate is not as out of control as you think, Daniels is decent and "Fat" Davis is pretty good. You cannot really believe that West and Perk suck, come on now. I'll give you Jermaine O'Neal, LOL. When a team can bring Baby Davis, Perk, Nate and Delonte off the bench, it means it goes NINE deep, which is great for the playoffs.

You are trying to tell me something about basketball? I watch these guys. ALOT. The Celtics, ESPECIALLY in the playoffs are starting five driven and sometimes only really rotate 7 guys and one guard for 10 minutes.

SHAQ will be older and fatter come playoff time. I already said starting five...I count Perkins in that group. That's the team.

You don't know much if you are going to tell me that the Celtics play the same during the regular season as they do in the playoffs. They turn it up and yes its the starting five but last year, Big Baby and Nate were huge in multiple games, did you forget that? Please tell me I am wrong here!! And if Perk does not sustain that knee injury odds are they win the title. Although not saying its guaranteed. They have played several games w/o Rondo and now w/o KG and Perk has been out all year, yet they still beat the Heat twice. Are you really saying its just the starting five? You are embarrassing yourself.

Oh just stop it. The Celtics were completely healthy when they beat the Heat, when the Heat was running around without running an offense and D-Wade hurt while missing half their bench. great accomplishment. The Heat actually lost to the Pacers worse than either time to the Celtics.

In case you don;t know me (it seems that you don't), I made thousands on YOUR Celtics last year in the playoffs. I probably know your team better than you do. The Celtics for 3 years now lead the league in starting minutes for the starting five.

Dude, you are out of your depth trying to condescend to me on basketball. I DO the condescending.

I think it will be epic as well. it will make the finals a letdown.

I have a strong idea of what I will do with my stimulus plan this year....this might be the year where we take a team at 3-1 to beat the Lakers......and CASH. Eyeballing the Mavs, Jazz, and Denver for that duty...do not like San Antonio or OKC to do it.

After the Caron Butler injury, the west can open up and we can get a real underdog to ride in the west this year.

They were completely healthy? They were w/o Perk, who I believe made the honorable mention for all defensive team in 2009 - 2010 and with Granpa Shaq they still hold the best record in the NBA. Our bench will be Shaq, Baby Davis (6th man of the year candidate) and Nate Robinson. Along with Delonte West, who is not terrible, when he is on his meds.

You cannot possibly believe the Celtics are better w/o Perk, STOP THE INSANITY. And you DO NOT KNOW more than me about the Cs. You're crazy.

I said no such thing. You didn't read my post. I said I consider Perk the real starter. Those two games have NOTHING to do with NOW. Your team played the Heat when the Heat was at 50%. A team that purposely was NOT running ANY plays.

I know plenty about your C's.

You can't know much about them BTW, if you think they have the best record in the NBA. They are tied with the HEAT (soon to be behind the Heat for good). San Antonio has the best record in the NBA.

I meant the Eastern Conf., yes the Spurs have the best record in the NBA and yes the Heat have been in fire, no pun intended. But playoff hoops is completely different from the regular season. Last year the Cs were .500 in the 2nd half and in the playoffs were a different team. The Heat is super tough on D, which is their true strong suit but the Cs have struggled lately because of injuries to Rondo and KG. We'll see what happens when Perk, KG and West return I guess. At least I won't have to watch Von Wafer anymore!! LOL

Of course it is..but SA on a B2B in Boston? tough spot for SA. But of course it was impressive.

Perk is not much of a loss right now though. They have enough for the time being. for the playoffs, Perk will be important.

Perk is excellent at rebounding, blocking shots and playing the likes of Howard one on one. But seeing Rondo at 100% was so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Say what you will but the Heat don't have anyone that can remotely match up with Rondo not even close. We'll see what happens in the playoffs.
