I never said bosh played with Anthony. But when z was in there bosh was the one helping on the double frequently.
it wasn't amares best game by any stretch. But I would argue he does more for the knicks then any one player does for their team in the entire league right now
Last Knicks / Heat game actual breakdown, Amare Stoudemire: vs. THE WARDEN 6 FG's 14 FGA 6/7 FT's for 18 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block. 30 MINUTES vs. Big Z 4 FG's 9 FGA 4/5 FT's for 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block. 13 MINUTES Kinda case closed huh? Or should I say....jail cell...closed.
cough...Dwight Howard...cough....Derrick Rose... but I get the point. It;s why I wanted Chris Bosh if we were going with a big three concept and Amare if we were going with a Dynamic Duo concept. Anyway, Bosh has been a god send for the Heat and Amare has been great for NY, so we are both happy.
LOL! and Pay $87 for Standing room only? I get in because I know people, but Mickey Arison and Pat Riley have lost their minds. Coke and a popcorn.....$99.99 Even then going to a game costs me like $125 in beer/food
I agreed with you that year that wade deserved mvp. But no, those stats do not account for double and triple teams
Well we are slumping and headed back West.... Some Mello sure does sound nice right about now, this team is going through the motions and NEEDS to win tonight @ Houston. We had a solid defense stretch to start the new year but that has tapered off in a big way. Your only 4 games above .500 turn it back on please.
Yeah but we knew this wasnt a finished product now. You had to know there'd be ups and downs with this group. The best news is that Prokhorov has given up pursuit of Melo and Melo doesnt want any part of NJ. That virtually assures him being a Knick. Only other viable option would be the Clippers. The real question is it happening during free agency when we have to give up less to get him since he will be able to just sign him outright or is walsh going to take demands from corporate and go do something now. I can wait another year personally. If being awful for a decade we can be just a playoff team this year, i could live with that and moving forward in the offseason. We need Melo, a defensive C who can rebound and block (probably our biggest need along with backup PG), and CP3. As long as we keep at least 2 from Gallo, Fields, Chandler and Douglas and at least one from Walker, and Shawne Williams our top 8 is going to be beastly for years to come. The blueprint has been laid. Also, frankly I dont believe we are good enough to get a top 4 seed so really the only thing thats important to me right now is falling in to the bulls playoff seed in round one so we can beat them some more. They do not match up well with the Knicks at all. I dont think we could beat Miami, Boston or Orando as currently constructed but I think we'd take Chicago out in 6.
No, the Knicks biggest need isn't Carmelo, or a defensive minded C, or a backup PG, or Chris Paul. The Knicks biggest need is a new HC. The Knicks are never winning anything with D'Antoni, plain and simple. His play as little defense as possible system is never going to work, ever.
Something to keep an eye on...dont know how much truth there is to this rumor but the Knicks have been rumored to have a deal in place for Randolph for weeks. Any deal that lands them a first and a backup PG or C for Randolph is a major win...Someone like a Jeff Foster (backup C) or a TJ Ford/AJ Price (backup PG) could be involved here: Beat writer Mike Wells is dismissing a rumor that the Knicks have agreed to trade Anthony Randolph to the Pacers. The original report comes from something called the Business Insider. Until a legitimate news organization with a history of breaking news confirms, we're dismissing this rumor as well. As Wells points out, the Pacers already have 15 guaranteed contracts and are over the salary cap. They couldn't get Randolph just for a first-round pick. Source: Mike Wells on Twitter Edit: Doesnt seem to be much truth to this right now, still it could happen if other players are involved. Too bad as Randolph has shown himself to be one of the most overrated talents in the league. His talent is undeniable but his inability to apply directions and improve are also undeniable. He seems to listen like a 6 year old with ADD.
I dont entirely disagree. I have never been a big D'Antoni fan though I think his offensive concepts are excellent. What he really needs to do is fire his brother as the defensive coach and get someone in there who knows how to coach defense. The other problem with his methods is that he likes to go small but size has always been something that wins in the NBA. Its no secret that when the Lakers roll out a front line of odom-gasol-bynum theyre one of, if not the tallest frontline in the league. Great coaches emphasize rebounding even more so then defense because rebounding limits possessions and can cover up some for a poor defensive team. D'Antoni may have to adjust the teams faster pace style eventually to get more size and a more traditional lineup on the floor. Since the Knicks really dont have a true center on the roster now, including 6'10 Ronny Turiaf who sees much of the time at C with Amar'e, it doesnt have to happen now but it will have to happen eventually or he will have to leave.
Getting anything for Randolph would be a plus. The guy has the talent, but he's never going to live up to it. He and JaVale McGee are in the same boat. Huge talent, but their basketball IQ only rivals Samuel Dalembert as dumbest in the NBA.
Yep. Size is such an important part of winning in the NBA. That and defense are the key. I'm just not at all sure if the Knicks will get some brilliant defensive mind to make them a championship contender, and I'm not sure how much say D'antoni really has defensively. I just can't see a championship in his future, and I expect his career to end similarly to Don Nelsons, just not as good. They're practically the same coach. Small ball, fast paced, lots of offense, no defense at all.
Should be an interesting game tomorrow... No Bosh and Spo likes to go with a small lineup in his absence...so we could see Lebron again at PF.
No Bosh shouldn't mean all that much with such a great all around basketball team. He's the 3rd best player on the team.
It evens it out a little. Although it means more freedom for some of our bench guys that can go absolutely off. But this team is nowhere near as good without Chris Bosh. Amare is talking crap..so obviously he is feeling it. THE WARDEN is not going to be pleased. and I have the official STAT from ESPN NEW YORK of all places...this one is for Boik... Amare guarded by THE WARDEN is 7 for 24 this season.
Wade is coming off a migraine issue and usually plays mediocre off a layoff.... The Heat at -3.5 is not enticing to me and I bet basketball AND am a HEAT FAN. I would have been SHOCKED if the Knicks won EITHER of the first two games and said so. i am telling you NOW that the Knicks have a real shot at this one tonight. I WOULD be shocked if the Heat blew them out tonight.
IMO, if you want to take the Knicks vs. the Heat...this is a GREAT spot. another thing to consider..the Heat is 4-4 off of layoffs (3 days or more rest) this season. ATS, they are 3-5 in these games. If the Knicks weren't coming off breaking a 6 game slide...and playing so bad, I would have SENT IT IN on the Knicks.
D Wade kills NY....every team wants to play well in the Garden, would be a nice mental win but I'm not holding my breath.
Heat controlling the tempo for sure, love the way Fields plays... Have no clue how this game is going to pan out been a pretty good one.
Well the 3's FINALLY fell at the right time...it was painfull to watch so many misses from downtown the first 3 quarters. All in all a nice confidence win and hopefully it sparks another winning streak before the break.
Nice win for the knicks. Without bosh the heat is not fluid. With lbj playing terrible, can,t beat a scrappy team like the knicks with just wade and defense, although they almost did. Btw, the orlando tragic fan chiming in.........priceless.
Wow! Knicks fans...or very clever imposters making asses of themselves all over the net tonight. Making jets fans seem rational.
