well this is not at all how i expected today to happen. what teams have done this sort of thing before? very odd.

if only the results on the field were as dramatic as our head coaching hires and fires.....

I'm telling you this isnt a bad thing Cowher's crew drafts studs man. Rothelisberger, Burress, Holmes, and a CRAP TON of defensive players. Mind you Burress and Holmes had legal issues but they are solid players

I can;t say either is great yet. Harbaugh unproven at NFL HC level. Cam Cameron was a great OC but a terrible HC. Saban great in college, not so great in NFL.

Sparano can't be great until he learns better in-gmae management, clock management, doesn;t give up multiple humiliating (humiliating squared) losses, actually holds bad coaches accountable (refused to fire Bonamego for years and even after Pats disaster until he was FORCED to, defended and still defends Henning despite happily blaming player execution for problems), and untiol he has the balls to command his own OC's to change their approach... or maybe it's not balls it's that he doesn;t know his X's and O's as well as the men who work under him so can't confidently challenge their opinion. Not to mention, he was an O-line coach and his O-line sucks in Miami after too much tinkering. Too many questions about the way this man runs a team for me to consider him great.

I'd hire him to give my pee wee league team a pep talk before games though. THAT he is good at. Though maybe I'm wrong there too considering the effort level we saw Sunday.

He could also be thinking: "I don't need Luck to succeed in the NFL."

Couldn't disagree more -- but there's no reason to side-track this thread.

    Again, agree to disagree.

Hope not. Harbaugh and Ireland I could live with if you add a serious push to get Palemr, or trade the house to draft Luck.

Cowher with personnel control and semi-retired Florida-livin' I have no interest in.

Personally, I hope this continues a couple of days. Football is over and once this is settled there will be nothing to talk about for months, until the draft. If I even give a crap about it this year.

Hard to tell how much of that was Cowher and how much was Tom Donahoe, but I'm sure they both had a lot of input. I do know that Donahoe left because of Cowher however, so it doesn't surprise me that Cowher is iffy on Ireland.

That's Ross's plan---- keeping Sparano so he can run us into the ground in order to grab both Harbaugh and Luck with the #1 pick.

I think Palmer is done and merely a stop-gap at this point in his career, but that's a different discussion altogether.

I see you point though. Cowher may be a little too Jimmy Johnson-esque down here. Hell, a little too Bill Parcells-esque even.

I'd like to know how many Dolfans in Florida will give up on the Dolphins if Sparano stays. And by give up I mean no longer purchase any tickets.

It is crazy. How is Sparano expected to go out and build this up, if his owner is knocking him down ? Very strange indeed

Then i'd have to switch to watching pro golf which would be much more exciting than watching Dan Henning run a football team.

I say the season ticket base, which sits at around 56,000 this past season, goes down to around 40,000. That would guarantee no sellouts next year for TV. But actual sellouts by game day for the Pats & Jets games.

Letting Sparano and Hennning go, hiring Jim Harbaugh as HC, drafting Cam Newton at QB, keeping Ireland as GM and Nolan as DC are SOLUTIONS to getting Miami back to being Super Bowl Champions.

Not making any changes at HC and OC are solutions to Miami finishing 7-9 AGAIN next year.

Wowowow....I would be elated it this happens!

I talked to my friend this morning, he said "now i have no clue" jim spoke to the team in the locker room after the game and said "do NOT LISTEN to speculation, I'm the Stanford coach and i cant wait to see you guys in the spring"

But, muy friend said he had a tone like he was not quite convinced he was staying....

While I would love to see Harbaugh hired by the Dolphins. I think if Harbaugh does decide to become a head coach in the pros. He will end up with the 49ers or the Broncos. Since he already lives in Northern California. Not far from San Francisco. Harbaugh taking the 49ers job makes perfect sense. I also think that if he decides to not take the 49ers job. Elway and the Broncos owner will make an offer that Harbaugh would find very difficult to turn down. I just don't see Harbaugh having a great deal of interest in coming to take over the Dolphins. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

Well. I do. Tend to agree. With you. However, Denver seems. Pretty intent on going. After Mularkey. I too hope. That I am wrong, but I just don't feel as if. Harbaugh will be coming to. Miami.

Commas. It's the key right after the "M". You don't even have to shift to use it. I really do compliment your use of caps after periods, but damn dude.

Was just live in Miami and reported Dolphins are making a push for Harbaugh and that Sparano is looking like a fall back if we dont land a top canidate.

Also said Ireland is very safe as he has developed a relationship with Ross...

Talked in small detail about RW's comments.

Merge it whatever Im just glad it refutes the ESPN radio announcment 2 hours ago.

Was just about to post this FinOm, great stuff.

Seems like we have had a few conversations with him already. Makes sense with hearing nothing out of our front office recently.

    Here is another:

Jim Harbaugh will get his shot at the NFL, but the winner of his sweepstakes could be a totally unforeseen entrant.
Citing unnamed sources, the NFL Network reported Tuesday morning that the Miami Dolphins have had “multiple conversations” with Harbaugh and have suddenly become a key player among the many NFL teams pursuant of the Stanford head coach.

Said that the reason Cowher was in Miami was because he wanted full control and Ross really likes Ireland....

Im glad because we dont need a complete overhaul just a HC/OC/Qb
